Dragon Overlord is the fourth entertaining book in the Air Dragon series. The story revolves around shifters who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas along the way. That's when the fun begins.
While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters are fun and loving and dictated by their rules, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.

A simply wonderful read, humour, drama, action and everything else…
Any is drawn into a new customer contract after the original person sent had quite literally peed his pants and refused to have anything to do with them but the size of the contract meant they could not let the account go so in stead had sent Amy Winters an unmated female.
Vortex could not believe it when he saw the female, she had balls and she turned him on no end and yet the only way she was able to take the job was by pretending she was married, so she had and that was to Jake her Opera singer partner who in fact was her parrot and very best friend.
Amy had loved working with the dragons and she wanted to do whatever it takes to keep the dragons and their mates and offspring safe from the Goblins and the Cave Dragons so that they could ensure there were no sudden surprises and it was essential that work along side them, these shifters had come to mean an immediate great amount and she wanted other females to have chances to work with these wonderful shifters as well.
This is everything I have come to expect from books by this amazing author as always, the story is great and the saga continues with the Air Dragons as they prepare themselves for war, the plots is so wonderfully written with larger than like characters.
Then there is that amazing shot of laugh out loud humour she injects into each of her books which is a gift not all writer is equipped with.
No one ever said that becoming the second Overlord for the Air Dragons Clan was going to be easy but then had never experienced a human female like Amy Winters and her other half Jake, who even though he loathes to admit it is that he has become awfully fond of that larger-than-life character.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

So Vortex is a career focused dragon and now it is paying back, he has the job of his dreams, and must follow his usual path to confirm his king and prince right choice.
Amy is surprised why she lands a lucrative job while working for her misogynist company. Even ore when it lands her in shifters territory. But her job she will do, even if she is attracted to her warrior guard.
Vortex is still very set on earning his stars, while Amy is now feeling the weight of having centered her life on her career, she is realizing she might have lost previous time and senses the weight of her lonely life.
They are fun together, Amy is no combatant but she stands her ground and never let bullies of any kind win over her. Vortex is more lost, not really know where he goes, entranced by her yet unwilling to compromise his new responsibilities.
In all, a fun addition to this series with some new players and a change of course on the dragons way of moving.

A light hearted romance book
I love the universe of characters and stories that Charlene Hartnady has created in her Bride Hunt series of books. This is the 4th installment of the “Air Dragons” series. It looks like war with the goblins and perhaps even the “cave dwellers” is on the horizon. Given that, the Air Dragon King, Thunder, wants to shore up their defenses using the latest in technology. Enter our heroine, Amy, a security expert who will be working with dragon shifter, Vortex, on the setting up the very latest in security and surveillance systems.
It’s a quick read and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. One of the best things about our heroine is that she’s pretty stoic when she finds out she’ll be working with dragon shifters. I cannot express how much I HATE when the FMC loses their minds during this reveal, but Amy was pretty pragmatic about it. In fact, I loved her no nonsense approach to everything, including the first romantic interlude between her and Vortex.
This is not a complicated story with complicated characters. But if you light a light hearted PNR book, then this one will be right up your alley.

The Aur Dragons lair needs a update on their Security so the company they hired is sending someone. But the guy they send is a wimp once he sees a dragon he pisses himself so he is sent away, now the company is going to send Amy. Once she meets Vortex she is impressed. After signing all the NDC documents she is taken out side and that where she get a little shock Vortex turns into his dragon she shocked and a little overwhelmed but other wise ok with it. But she has to play like she’s married and Vortex must protect her. Soon their attraction to each other is a lot to handle. Now she’s heads back to see why they aren’t getting a better price for the equipment and finds the wimp is now her boss so she quits. And Vortex realizes he wasn’t very nice when he let her go so after coming to the fact he misses her he try’s to make it up to her. So enjoy another good read and see what has happened between these two !!

Amy & Vortex
One of the better offerings in the series.
Amy had a real reason to be on dragon land and was confident and capable at her job. Like many workaholics, she had neglected her personal life. Vortex is the dragon equivalent of Amy, so this couple can understand where the other is coming from when they just want to keep it professional.
I felt Amy was a bit over dramatic at times, huffing off (and writing off Vortex) in effect rather than calmly discussing her feelings, which kept resulting in Vortex having to come groveling back. I didn't love that, especially the 3rd time, and it was written like Amy had no culpability in the situation. Still, we're getting somewhere with the series with an outside threat (the goblins) coming into play and characters with actual raison d'êtres.
The bird was supposed to be comedic, but I found Jake to be rather tasteless.

Same old, mostly
I am so sick of the, "if we're together, you might get hurt" excuse from protagonists. It is over done and denies their mate agency, as well as ignoring the fact that nobody is ever truly safe. Vortex has the "I'm gonna lose my job" argument, and that was sufficient.
Vortex harped on scent a lot too in a way that didn't make sense. Dragon semen is super stinky? Okay. Human semen? No. Not still smelling a week later on a person who showered and slept on clean sheets. Campfire smoke, though--a human nose can pick that up a week later, and it often lingers on equipment that isn't frequently washed.
I liked that Amy is a security expert, dealing with sexism in the workplace, and is career oriented.

Vortex & Amy
Holy fiery smoke Batman! This was an awesome read, loved the humor, the characters and the overall plot with the goblins. Always did like how the author finds a way to keep a plot going!
Character breakdown;
Vortex: loved the male, he was hard but not enough and had a helluva vocabulary. Love the vulgarness he brought to the table. But the stubborn side always persists.
Amy: I adored her, the way she took charged and did her best not to take crap from anyone. Also her bird Jake? That was a lovely touch to the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and how well the author plotted everything out. It’s a bit of a slow burn but worth every bit of it. I am thoroughly looking forward to getting to know Cyclone. I recommend 8.5/10 ⭐️

Vortex finally gets the position of Overlord that he’s worked hard for his entire life. However, war is coming and he needs to ensure that the lair is secure and safe for everyone. Amy is brought in to do an assessment to help improve security against enemies and finds herself falling for Vortex😍 But there are a couple obstacles in their way that they will need to overcome and “Jake”😂
A great story that I loved and I am looking forward to Cyclone’s story next❣️I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

Another great story in this series! Vortex is a workaholic trying to make it to a position of Overlord and thinking he doesn’t have time for a mate until he meets Amy. Amy is such an independent and strong woman who slips under Vortex’s guards. This story grabbed my attention from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down! Love seeing the ongoing preparations for the problem of the goblins. Jake was seriously hilarious! Charlene brings so much to her stories and I just can’t get enough! Very enjoyable and I highly recommend! Received arc and am voluntarily leaving an honest review

Vortex & Amy
This book was just okay for me. It didn't grab me and pull me in. I didn't particularly care about either main character or their stories. I mostly kept reading for info on the next book. And they didn't have sex until 71% which is unacceptable for me when reading paranormal romance. Don't misunderstand, the book isn't bad, it just wasn't as compelling for me as many of Hartnady's other books. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Also, while I did receive an ARC, I borrowed it with KU because of the cover

Dragon Overlord is Book 4 in the Air Dragon saga, and while it is a standalone, you get a better experience by reading the earlier books. Entertaining from beginning to the end. I could not put it down until I was done. Stubborn, career focused, newly appointed overlord, Vortex, and the human, Amy, who captured his heart. Throw in a filthy mouthed parrot, the twist with the the goblins and you are in for one heck of a ride. Definitely a must read. I received an ARC copy of the book in return for my honest review. I have also purchased a copy.

Top Notch Read
I gave this 4 stars even though it was a great read, it was a little redundant with Vortex constantly playing her out after they made progress. That was my only annoyance with the book. Otherwise this story was funny, passion filled, and thrilling. I loved all the twists and turns and even the development is of Amy and Vortex’s relationship. Jake was also a great addition to the story. I like the addressing of biases in the work place as well as on dragon property, and how they realized their errors. Can’t wait to read Cyclone’s story.

C’est toujours la même histoire qui se répète encore et encore, mais ça reste un bon moment détente. Les dialogues et les situations sont amusantes. Cette série est pour moi comme une sorte de comfort food. Je sais bien que cela n’est pas de la grande littérature, mais au final, je passe un très bon moment. Suivre cette série c’est comme revoir des amis régulièrement, tu sais que tu vas passer un moment sympa et sans prise de tête. Parfaite lecture pour le week-end où les vacances. Vivement le prochain avec grumpy Cyclone.

Amy is working in a misogynistic world of sales where she is overlooked despite being absolutely work focused. She gets her chance when a colleague just isn’t up to the job & she gets sent to complete a huge potential contract.
She meets Vortex who is as committed to work as she is & has just landed a big promotion to Overlord.
This book is so funny with great lol dialogue & some very revealing things that Amy discovers.
This is a really good pairing & they are so well suited.

Love This Series
Dragon Overlord, Air Dragons book 4 by Charlene Hartnady is wonderful. The new characters are refreshing and interesting. Amy is perfect. Her feisty attitude, strong will and humor is amazing. Vortex is sexy as sin. Dragon or not he's a typical man when if comes to relationships. Of course I have to mention Jake, he's absolutely one of my favorite characters in the book. You'll see there's no way he won't be your favorite also.

overlord meets security specialist
When a female shows to replace a male the overlord knows what is at stake for his people so he rolls the dice. He did not realize that she was going to be everything he ever wanted but the timing is off. Will they finally move forward from the pull and retreat, you have to read to find out. Amazing
I have read the entire series. This was my favorite book by far and have read it multiple times for my enjoyment. It claimed my attention from the first chapter and I couldn’t put it down. Read it in one day. The constant banter between the characters is entertaining. Charlene has definitely outdid herself with Amy and Vortex’s story. From start to finish it was a perfect read.
I have read the entire series. This was my favorite book by far and have read it multiple times for my enjoyment. It claimed my attention from the first chapter and I couldn’t put it down. I gave Dragon Overlord 3 stars because I always enjoy Charlene Hartandy’s books.
This one a bit less. It started great, I couldn’t stop reading but after a while the H behaviour was disappointing.
I wanted him to fight more for the h. And the end was very fast, she forgave him so quickly.
Surely not one of my favourites from this author, but still an enjoyable read.

This a a fun and interesting story. I really like how Amy and Vortex's relationship develops. There is a tension the builds that I really enjoyed and the ongoing development with the goblins keeps you on your toes. I think the contributions of Jake and Cyclone were just perfect! I can't wait to see what Charlene has in store next!

Loved it once again love overcome all. But it took a while for Vortex to get there, men and their pride and ego. Love Amy she rocks..and her parrot Jake..but truth be told I believe Vortex is right about being uneasy about them Goblins..and the Dragons underground.. Looking forward yo Cyclone story.

Love Stubborn Dragons.
Loved reading this book.,
Amy gets the job after the wimp that originally had the position couldn't handle it.
Which comes to another obstacle, Amy being an unmated female!!!!
The lies keep coming but only do she can get the job done.
Amy and Vortex's relationship is up and down, but they can't resist each other..

Good read
To less than a day to read. Kept me entertained and always looking for the next chapter. Glad to set that the Kings are finally getting with the times, and understanding that woman are more then baby making machine or a place to put their appendages. Granted, wouldn't mind having me a shifter to help with everyday issues . Enjoyed reading this one .

As always a fantastic story, i loved the denial of any real feelings he was trying to hold on to and when cyclone gave his speech i think my heart broke a little!! Look forward to seeing more of that giant gruff Dragon.
