simply counting this because I spent so much time reading it for class that I feel I deserve to have it count towards my reading goal this year

The author of this textbook was kinda unaware of his own biases…. It was frustrating that he never explained some of the cultural implications of past mental health diagnoses regarding hysteria even though he had a whole chapter and glossary definition to do so. Overall good textbook but there were definitely some confusing explanations of concepts and it felt like he didn’t even understand some of the material he was trying to explain. I think I’m prepared for theories though overall so the book did its job and is still a great textbook, just room for improvement in future versions.
