This is an absolutely gorgeous cookbook, with beautiful illustrations and elegant font.

Published by the Junior League of Saginaw Valley, I presume the recipes have been submitted by members, meaning there is an eclectic mix here. While I've seen quite a few cookbooks published by organizations, this one goes above and beyond in terms of organization. I loved the index by ingredient in the back and appreciated the diversity of the recipes that highlighted both wild game (pheasants and venison) and Michigan-based fare like cherries and morels. Like other fundraising cookbooks, you won't find any pictures accompanying the recipes though.

I made the Ranch Potatoes which ended up being very greasy (my very thick-cut bacon may have been the culprit), but they had a great flavor and my family inhaled them.

The pictures are fabulous. The recipes are a true mixture of ethnic groups.
