“Why do you keep on running after the moon when the stars are staying and waiting for you to see its light?” Broken promises, faded memories and dreams turned to dust. That’s how you summarized Polaris Reeva Reyes’ life. She woke up one day without any memories from her tragic past, not even a glimpse of it. She lived years with new, fresh memories until this man came. Prince Caspian Alcantara, the man with sexy green eyes, pointed nose, stubborn jaw and seducing red lips who never failed to make her smile. The man who never left her mind and was always there when she needed him. As she spent time with him, she felt like the hidden emotions hiding inside her heart is slowly showing, she started smiling at his side jokes, she started admiring this man like how the stars slowly formed to light the dark sky but what if the memories of her past starts hunting her down? What if the shining stars in the dark sky started disappearing? What if the shooting stars stops falling? What if the memories came back? What if she realized that she was hidden in lies and was hushed by silent goodbyes. All she know is she is a star, a star which lights up the dark, a star where promises and dreams are made but what if she turns up to be just a mere stardust? [Wattpad]
I chose to finish reading this book first before Book 1: Unmasking the Waves of Deception because the synopsis of this one really caught my attention. I had actually started reading Book 1, but I felt like this story would be more interesting—and I was right!
What I really loved about this story is, first, I’m a big fan of the amnesia and redemption trope. And second, I loved the characters, especially Caspian—he’s serious but also has a funny and charming side. There were also plenty of memorable and tearjerking scenes and lines and hilarious scenes, like Caspian's many side jobs and the PowerPoint presentation—those were gold! I wasn’t able to jot them down, but overall, the flow of the story was really well done.
The only downside of this book is the number of typos and errors, which can be a bit distracting, especially during the serious scenes. It’s a bit surprising considering how many editors the story had.
But if you're into stories with amnesia, redemption arcs, and the billionaire-in-disguise trope, I highly recommend giving this one a try!
