Hazel Hunter does it again! Jacyn is the prequel to her new Darksilver series.
This book is a quick read at 96 pages. It sets up the worlds, the mysteries, and fleshes out several of the characters. Jacyn provides an intriguing start to explaining the Blade Lords and how they came into immortal existence. Kara represents the human side of the Darksiver. She intends to fulfill her destiny as explained by her parents no matter the cost.
The vampiric aspect doesn’t strike me as the main focus in this opening book. I am much more intrigued by the separate worlds, the mystery prisoner, and I’m surely going to be horrified (in a good way) by the villain.
There is some “heat” in the tale. It’s not over-the-top, but should enhance the story for lovers of the sexy vampire while being easy to skim for those that don’t enjoy that level of description.
As always in a Hazel Hunter book, the pace is gripping, the words flawlessly written, and concept is dark and delicious!
Bring on Arne and book one!
