About the author

Kathy Howard is a treasure hunter. She hunts for the creamiest chocolate, richest coffee, and cherished stories of faith. She also digs deep into Scripture, mining God’s eternal truths. Kathy has a Masters in Christian Education and has taught the Bible for more than 30 years in a wide variety of venues. Kathy is the award-winning author of 12 books, including “Heirloom: Living & Leaving a Legacy of Faith and the “meaty devotional series “Deep Rooted.” Kathy and her husband live in north Texas. The inviting cover of this book with its browns and greens immediately brings to mind a mature tree planted by streams of living water. That perfectly symbolizes how Christians long to become mature in their faith. This is another in the Deep Rooted series by Kathy Howard which starts with a basic knowledge of a Bible book and builds on what one knows by asking in depth questions that require digging deep in the Word and finding areas of unexpected growth. I can not get enough of Kathy's studies and find each to be enriching for my personal growth and also in helping me along the goal to being a disciple who makes disciples.

The length of the study is 50 days, but it can be gone through more quickly or paced for a lengthier study with a group. I enjoy doing a study by myself at my own pace and then later going through it with a group which adds so much more through discussion and seeing things from others prrspectives.

I can fully engage with the material through the effective 4 R method of Read, Record, Reflect, and Respond. Eacb day's reading in the guide begins with a Bible verse that could be used as a memory verse, but I like to select a weekly verse to memorize or hide in my heart.

I treasure my Bible study daily with Kathy both online and in her books. It has been a daily part of my life for a number of years now. Personally, I have found her guidance to be better than any other I have tried.

Another wonderful devotional that takes you deeper into God’s Word, in particular the book of Acts. It’s easy to follow, gives you wonderful insights, and extremely helpful in guiding you deeper into the book of Acts. It’s a book you’ll turn to over and over again. I loved it.

After reading through the book of Acts in my Bible, this new book study is a real power tool to have. The life of Paul comes alive as I read this study book. Kathy Howard has lived in various places in Canada and the USA. This lets her add bits of knowledge she has gleaned from different areas of life and insert it into this meaty Bible Study book. You will go chapter by chapter through Acts but each day you will only focus on one verse or point. The deep part of the study comes at the end of each reading where Kathy Howard has you stop, think, and apply what you just read.

If you are wanting to delve more into the book of Acts then this is the book for you! Kathy Howard has provided us many books and studies and has a heart for teaching women. I'm so excited to dive into this book, study the book of Acts and be able to learn more about myself through this study. The illustration on the front of the book is truly beautiful and eye catching. The inside is filled with teaching from the Bible as well as places for me to work on my study through Acts. I highly recommend this book.

Deep Rooted Acts is the perfect companion devotional to read while diving into a personal study of this amazing book written by the apostle Paul. Not only has Karen Howard prepared insightful and history-rich devotions, but she ends each day's reading with thought-provoking questions and provides plenty of space for reflection and response.

Having followed Kathy’s blog for some time, and being familiar with her writings, I was very excited to read this devotional. And I was not disappointed! This devotional book is both challenging and encouraging, and is a great way to start the new year. When I received my copy, I read through it quickly. This is the second Deep Rooted devotional by Kathy Howard and it is as wonderful as her first on Mark. Kathy teaches an easy way to study the Bible using her 4-R method: read, record, reflect, and respond. I also love how she introduces the book of the Bible to be studied giving lots of background information. If you are looking for a user friendly devotional that will have you studying Acts deeply, this is the book for you. This would also be a fantastic devotional for a group study.

Such a powerful Bible study that will help you discover, learn and contemplate on how the early believers walked out their faith in the face of persecution etc. Many life lessons written by a precious Jesus sister, Kathy Howard! As always, Kathy Howard does an amazing job of walking us through a book of the Bible. I bought Deep Rooted Acts because I loved Deep Rooted: Growing Through the Gospel of Mark. This book does not disappoint! Each day brings us a specific scripture focus to read, dig into, reflect upon, and apply. It is self paced, so if you miss a day or want to spend longer on a day, you can! I Highly Recommend!

Kathy Howard has done it again. The book of Acts is a great study, but add this devotional and you are truly digging in. A definite must read!
