The couple: Kerrigan and Lorelei

Plot: Kerrigan lost his wife and thought love wasn't in the cards for him anymore. Then he met Lorelei. Scared at the thought of his life changing so drastically, guilty for loving someone else, he runs away after spending the night with Lorelei. By the time he figures out that she's the one he wants, she's gone, nowhere to be found. He does everything he can to track her down, for two reasons: he loves her and she's in danger. Someone is trying to hurt her, burning down her hose for starters. Someone close to her is looking for revenge, and once Kerrigan finds her, they will need to work together to figure out what is going on. Oh, and get to work on that second chance!

Commentary: I didn't read the previous book that had them in it (I assume there was one), but I was able to pick up the plot well enough. Kerrigan ran when he should have stayed after he connected with Lorelei on a level that both surprised and scared him. Both of them widowers, they understand being mired in grief, but Lorelei is afraid that Kerrigan still is and won't have anything to give to her. By the time he went back for her, she was gone, and he had no idea where. He finally tracks her down, and it turns out that she is pregnant. She's also in danger from some people from her past. I felt so bad for her, and even cried at one point because she was so disappointed and so sad about being rejected when she thought she had found love again.

This book had me hooked from the first page. Kerrigan and Lorelei have a big piece of my heart. This is my first novel by this author and i’ll be waiting for the rest of the series!!!! I can’t wait.

This book is a continuation of LC’s story from Heroes with Heat and Heart. You meet Kerrigan and Lorelei there. You get to witness the heartbreak both endure from losing their significant other. They find something with one another. With the snap of fingers, boom, it comes crashing down.

I immediately wanted to know what happened next when I read their story in the anthology. I was so excited that we got it. This continuation of their story was everything I needed and more!

Lorelei has been through it left and right. Running from Kerrigan, running from threats, and running because what else can she do? New revelations are what she least expected. Also, secrets about her past love will come to light. What could happen? This book showed how strong Lorelei was even when she had been through so much.

Kerrigan knows he messed up with Lorelei. The love he has for her, will it be enough? The fight, will it be enough? After ruining the one good thing he had in his life after a life of loss, Kerrigan has to grovel. He has to prove he won’t leave again. He has to find her.

I loved this continuation and I am excited to hopefully see another story with a certain character. Thank your epilogue.

Exhilarating Action, Steamy Romance, Suspense

Broken Vows is the first book in the Crossroad Heroes series that looks to be quite the treat! It is an exhilarating, action-packed, highly dramatic steamy romance story, and it is most definitely a page-turner. From the beginning pages, Kerrigan makes his goal clear regarding Loralei. You just know he will take on here and earth to keep her safe and make her his. Getting there is a heck of a Rollercoaster.

With intense action, high drama, steaminess, romance, surprising twists, suspense, and all kinds of relationship woes, Broken Vows is a must-read, and nothing going like the title might have you thinking. I love the ale characters, who are all somewhat clueless alpha males who will protect and serve those they love in ways that make your toes curl. I couldn't help being a bit envious, even as Brady professes his need to confess to Mia at the end of the book. Their highly anticipated story is next in book two of Crossroad Heroes, Broken Truth.

What an amazing start to a new series. Broken Vows is a quick read that has you turning the pages so fast waiting for what’s going to happen next. Meet Lorelei and Kerrigan (alpha cop) both widows who have found love again. But as their love grows, Kerrigan's past haunts him and he ghosts Lorelei. Before he realizes he loves her unconditionally, she runs away. Desperate to find her and after learning of a fire and threats against Lorelei it leads him to Atlanta.

After a run in with the Atlanta precinct and Loreleis brother, Kerrigan quickly learns the danger Lorelei is in. Filled with steamy scenes that will leave you wanting more. Will her secrets surface in time to save her? Will Kerrigan be able to apologize and rekindle what they had? Full of surprises, danger, fear and secrets I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Thrilling and Romantic.....all blended together wonderfully

Broken Vows is the first book in the Crossroads Heroes series and was an enjoyable beginning. The story is action filled, dramatic, steamy, romantic, suspenseful and more as it takes you on a fast-paced roller-coaster ride. It is about Kerrigan and Loralei, with both having lost the loves of their lives, or so they think.
This was a well written, very entertaining at at times nail-biting story, with two characters that you just love and cheer to have their HEA.

Wow this story grabbed my attention from the very first page to the very last. It was fast paced, has danger, secrets and regret. This is the first book I've read by this author and I was really glad I selected this book on book sprout. The storyline was intriguing and the characters were well written. Kerrigan and Lorelei have sizzling chemistry together and I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Both Kerrigan and Lorelei have lost spouses. He has had many long, lonely years. Kerrigan is lost, having really messed up and ghosting the woman he now loves. When he figured out he messed up, she was already gone. Lorelei is keeping a couple big secrets from Kerrigan. There is some work for him trying to figure out who is threatening her and trying to get her back. I was so surprised at the people hiding things from Lorelei. She may have been less hurt in the long run. Very good story.

This novella was packed with action from the start. Kerrigan is a cop and answers a call for a fire and break-in at his ex-lover's home. He tracks her down, believing she is in further danger. There seems to be more history between most of the characters that unfolds explosively. Jealousy is a powerful motivator. Kerrigan learns Lorelei's secret as he races the clock to save her and almost pays with his life. The epilogue introduces the setup for the next story.

This is the first book in the series. I have preordered the next book after reading this book. The characters of Lorelei and Kerrigan are wonderful. They each had lives together and then apart, then brought back together. Then there was the realization on Kerrigan's part. This book incorporates many different aspects, we have secrets and intrigue, and action and romance. This is just a wonderful entertaining story that kept me interested from start to finish. I loved it.

You really feel for Kerrigan and Lorelei as both have people from the past not allowing them to move on and causing havoc in their lives to the point of Lorelei leaving town and Kerrigan hating himself. Now she is in danger and he needs to not only find her but keep her safe while they find out who is behind everything and there are some twists you don't see coming, heartbreak as well as new beginnings along with new friends to make and a good mix of Danger and a HEA.

I've been dying to read Kerrigan and Lorelei's story and I was not disappointed. This book and their story was so well written that inwas sad to see it end. It has everything you could ask for, plenty of drama, sizzling scenes and a very happily ever after.
I can't wait for the next book and I'm hoping there will be more in this series, maybe about her brother and the other guys mentioned in this book.

This was a great book, and I am so looking forward to reading the next one in this series. Kerrigan lost his wife then just when his life was feeling right again his past comes back to haunt him. Lorelei does not know what to do when she gets ghosted by him, so she runs to her brother for protection. However, when the truth comes out it will take everyone around her to keep her safe.

Omg where has this author been hiding? This book was absolutely phenomenal and I was absolutely enthralled from the beginning until the end. Wow this story has it all suspense, drama, danger, betrayl, and love. The book grabs you from the beginning and does not let go until the end. I read it in one setting as I could not put it down. This is Kerrigan and Lorelei's story. It is a fairly short and quick read that is addicting. The story is full of suspense, action, steamy passion, romance and good twists. I love the characters in this story. The plot is nicely developed and very intriguing.

Plot: Kerrigan is still mourning the death of his wife in 9/11, even 20 years later. He has finally left the military and is back in his small town, working for the police force. He meets Lorelei, who is mourning the death of her military husband one year previous. They have a connection that they'd like to explore, slowly, because of their grief but also potential love. But when Kerrigan is thrown a loop by his former mother-in-law, he ghosts Lorelei for long enough that she leaves town, having enough problems of her own. Kerrigan realizes his mistake, but it might be too late for the woman he now realizes that he loves.

Commentary: I liked this one as much as I did the first time I read it (as Broken Vows). What I loved the most is that I could really feel Lorelei's pain. I don't have anything in common with her - no military connection, no being ghosted or having a surprise baby, no family members trying to kill me. But I felt like I could really understand her sorrow and she made me cry a couple of times.

Grammar/formatting: There was a weird thing where every time the word "across" was supposed to be used, it actually said "aLyons." My guess is that the character was originally named "Cross" and the author did a "replace all" without realizing it would do the word "across" also. According to Kindle, that happened 27 times.
