The last Cooper sibling is looking for love...she just wishes it wouldn't be in her hometown, or with the saltiest cowboy on the planet. But something about Jed Forrester has Cherry all a-flutter, and he'll be darned if he's going to let her get away. But Jed may have met his match when it comes to his quick tongue and salty attitude...
Cherry Cooper isn't thrilled to be back in Sweet Water Falls, though she knows it's the right place for her right now. Her parents are aging and unwell, and she's been gone long enough. She wants to help Mama and rekindle her relationships with her siblings, which would be easier if they weren't all so blissfully happy.
She's not unhappy, and a certain cowboy at the farm next door definitely makes a smile brighten her face faster than anything or anyone else has in a long time. But Jed's already broken up with her once because of his short temper and quick tongue, and Cherry really doesn't want to play games.
Jed Forrester isn't the game-playing type of cowboy anyway. He's just trying to break down Cherry's impossibly high walls so he can get inside her heart. Or at least her head, to figure out why she's so resistant to him when they have such a great time together—and she sure doesn't seem to mind kissing him...
Can Jed use his saltiness in his favor and win over Cherry's heart? Or will she keep pushing back at him until he gives up?

I loved this book; I was hooked from the first paragraph and just consumed it. So very relatable characters and their stories made it easy to enjoy. I love a big noisy family and the side tales it brings. I love Cherry’s crazy to Jed’s salty, but that drive; it might break them.
Thank you to the Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Salty Cowboy tells the falling in love story of Cherry, the last single Cooper and Jed who lived the next farm over all these years. Cherry had moved back from San Antonio and she started to hear things about what happened 12 years ago that caused her to leave. Her and Jed together made for a good couple but the trip to get to love was a rollercoaster for them. The rollercoaster jumped the rails a couple of times but thank goodness for family. Their advice always helped.
In this book we read of Lee and Rose marrying and combining their family and Will and Gretchen getting married. Time rolls by and the limbs are being added to the Cooper family tree very fast. They all are living in cabins on the family farm with the exception of Wayne and Chrissy living in the big main house till Lee gets married and then they play shuffle the family cabins. Cherry lives in Short Tail until she married Jed and they move just to the next farm over at the back of the Cooper ranch to run a rescue ranch.
All these Cooper siblings had irritability issues until they find their happily ever after person. Some may have blamed it on their red hair, some because they were growing older and single. Being a farm sibling responsible for the milking production and delivery pickups, making of cheese and ice cream from the ingredients on the farm to sell in their on site store, and the care of cows and horses and growing hay for the winter feedings keep them busy to where dates can be tricky and it takes just the right person to be a spouse to that type of person. Each of the spouses are happy to live on the farm and have adjusted to farm hours.

Cherry, the oldest Cooper sibling, has finally decided it’s time for her to come home to Sweet Water Falls so she can be there for her elderly parents, reconnect with her siblings and their spouses, and be the best aunt possible to each of their children. She tells herself that it has nothing to do with Jed, the cowboy at the farm next door, but she can’t help but be attracted to him even though he is just as salty as she is. I think contrary Cherry is my favorite Cooper sibling because I got to understand some of the hurts of her past and see how she attempts to control what happens with her salty attitude so she can protect herself. Jed was perfect for her. This has been a fun series and I hate to see it end. I love that the author wrote such a detailed epilogue catching us up on all the family news. I hope we will get to see what happens to Jed’s brother, Easton, in a future book. I received an ARC from the author and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
Jed Forrester did not want to do a long distance romance with Cherry Cooper so broke off the relationship, that had started after they met at a wedding a while ago. She is now back and has thoughts of coming home for good after 12 years, but no-one really knows why she left in the first place; not actually wanting to go home she stops off at the maze on the Forrester farm to waste time, meeting up with Jed after he shows her the way out. Each have their ways and they clash, but they also compliment each other. She is closed off, which is not easy for Jed to pass through. He can be surly and whilst she calls him on it, she can be difficult. She has secrets, can say harsh things as she lashes out..really they are each looking for love but need to dig to find it.. Cherry and Jed have already failed at a Long-Distance Relationship. In Elana Johnson's Wonderful, Page-Turning, Sweet Romance, "Salty Cowboy (Sweet Water Falls Farm Romance Book 4)"; you'll find out how these two lonely people, navigate a bumpy Second 💗, to get to their Lifetime 💞!
I ❤️ that Cherry finds it easier to "show" her feelings and "saltiness" by her "actions"; while Jed shows his "saltiness" and feelings with his "words". I ❤️ that their family Farms are next to each other. I ❤️ that the characters & their storylines from the previous 📚, are also concluded in this 📗. So it's best to 📖 this Series in chronological order.
I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Story; to see EJ paint a compelling picture of the Farming Cooper and Forrester Families! ❤️ed📖ing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’ve been wondering during earlier books what has kept Cherry away from the family. We finally find out. It is also a second chance for Jed and Cherry if only they can be open and honest with each other. I enjoyed the family dynamics and also the descriptions of the work that each member does around the farm; it made me feel like I was actually living there. The author makes you really worry about the characters, feel their highs and lows. I feel like the Coopers are people I actually know so I really enjoyed the extended epilogue as it updated us on each couple in the series, not just this book. Sorry to say goodbye to this family but I really hope that Jed’s brother will get a book and we’ll meet up with some of the Cooper family again. . Cherry and Jed have a sweet love story. They began dating long distance when they met up at a wedding but Jed broke it off because he couldn’t do the long distance. Now her sister is having a baby and Cherry is unhappy with being so far away from her family even though she has ghosts of the past that tend to make her not want to return. While home she and Jed rekindle there relationship and become closer. What happens when Jed learns her secret?
The Sweet Water Falls Farm stories make a really good series. This is the last installment and the author has included an Epilogue with each of the Cooper children as the focus. That makes this particular book even better in my opinion.
This is the finale of a great series. My favourite line was said by Cherry, “Yes, he’s salty, but I think I might be saltier.” That describes both of them and it was interesting to see how the author was going to give Cherry the backbone to forgive herself and see what was in front of her. Love how she lets Jed know she loves him. I really enjoyed that the author did not stop at their engagement but also give us some insight into all the siblings and their next steps in their lives. What I really like was that Chrissy got to see it all. Here is my second favourite line from Rose. “Rose closed her eyes and thought, Thank you for allowing me to find a place to belong on that farm.” This is family, loud and loving. I would recommend this book and series to all.
I loved this cowboy romance. The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story. The characters were quirky, with a magnetic chemistry & are unapologetic in their ways. From the moment I first opened the book, to the second I finished it, I was transfixed. I didn't just read this story, I lived it. Every truth, lie, happiness, and anger was felt to my very bones. Isn't it just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for every nail-biting moment of it? This is one of those series for me.
Salty Cowboy is the story of Cherry and Jed, 2 forty-somethings that have difficulties navigating a relationship. I loved that this author did not shy away from a tough subject matter, nor did she try to sugarcoat the toxic effect that secrets can have on relationships. I also loved that the main characters were flawed. This novel is a stand-alone story which is easily read, with enough details into the other characters and their backstories so one does not get lost in the pages. Elana Johnson has written a wonderful novel regarding the powers of love and forgiveness, especially the necessity of forgiving one's self. 4 1/2 stars.
Jed and Cherry seem to have an on again off again thing going on. Jed doesn’t want a long distance relationship, 2 hour drive, and she doesn’t want to live in their hometown. Problem is, they are perfect for each other, both salty and call each other out. They are both in their 40s, envious of the relationships that their siblings have and want to be in love with their own person and be loved in return. The baby boom isn’t making it any easier. I think they have self confidence issues and need to get out of their own way. Another great read in this series!!. Jed may have been salty but Cherry wasn't far behind with her sassy AND saltier attitude. She legit got on my nerves with some of the things that came out of her mouth and her treatment of Jed. He got my seal of approval with a few of their conversations that got her attention. I did get a little lost in some of the details with all of these family members and their moving activities but their love for each other was easy to see. If this is your first book in this series, go back to the first one because you WILL be lost trying to start here. . Ridiculous! A 36 year old woman had a one night stand 12 years ago after a bad break up! Oh my! How awful! This is the reason she left town and avoided her family for 12 years? The reason she felt so bad about herself? Couldn’t make a relationship work? Had to beg forgiveness from her family and current boyfriend? Why does she have to tell anyone? Why would a grown man still be bragging and gossiping about having a one night stand with a woman 12 years later? Why would her current boyfriend demand she explain something she did 12 years ago. He dated lots of women never more than 2 months. Is he a 40 year old virgin?

This story was so good. Romance between several couples, an older couple with health problems. Cherry was considering moving back to her home town as her mother was declining and she wanted to help. Also one of her sisters was going to have a baby any day. Plus she wanted to see where her relationship with Jed was going. She was very wary of being in a relationship but he was persistant. The story was entertaining and kept me interested from start to fnish. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chery is the last of the coopers to find love. she left town years ago but did not tell anyone why now she is thinking of coming home , her sibling are all finding love and having babies, but she does not have anyone. but she does sort of likes the cowboy down the road. will she be able to tell the family the truth about why she left and be honest with jeb about how she feels . enjoyed reading about all of the siblings and their spouses if you like cowboys ,animals and children you will want to read the book
Another great, clean addition to the series. Great families with love and faith in their lives. Cherry knows she’s crazy but can’t seem to resist her attraction to Jed. Jed is the younger cowboy that lives down the road from her family’s farm. They had tried a long distance relationship but he broke it off a few months ago. Cherry gets lost in the corn maze but Jed comes to her rescue. They realize the attraction is still there. Can Cherry get past what drove her from town and open her heart to happiness? *I received this book for free for my unbiased review.
I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my honest and voluntary opinion. Cherry Cooper is the oldest and last sibling to get married. She decides to move back home to keep Jed Forrester as a boyfriend. She has secrets in her past and is afraid they might be a deal breaker. The plot includes issues of trust and acceptance. Great ending to this series. I really like the way Elana Johnson develops families and their relationships, and continues to bring them through each book in the series.
This is the last book in the family Saga of the Cooper family, I thought it was a perfect end, it wound up the stories perfect, and to see Cherry get her HEA was AWESOME. You get to find out why she is so jaded and what really happened to her to make her move away form her home town and the family she loves so much!! I love that this family is less than perfect, they argue and yell, and Cherry's love interest in the book, Jed, fits right in. LOVED the book, LOVED the series. Clean and no swearing as always with Elana Johnson, just GREAT writing that draws you in from the start.
I loved Elena Johnson’s books. Salty Cowboy is an emotional love story wrought with family drama, secrets and conflicts. Cherry wants to return home to the family after 12 years away but she never told her family why she left. Her secret! Jed wants Cherry home but he wants her to let him be there for her too. I love the chemistry between Cherry and Jed and how family plays and important part of their lives and relationship. Salty Cowboy is well worth your time to read and you will enjoy reading it. Jed and Cherry have a second to at romance after Jed had previously halted their long distance romance, but the secret of why she left Sweet Water years ago threatens to ruin things as does her own attitude. Jed and Cherry are perfect could for each other and you hope they will each get out of their own way to find happiness. The extended epilogue was a great update to end the series. I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout but voluntarily leave this review.
Cherry left Sweet Water Falls years ago. She was keeping a secret from her family. She started seeing Jed Forrester long distance, till he broke it off. Now Cherry has decided it's time to come home. Cherry and Jed's relationship is so cute, love the by play between them. They each have a great love of family, one of the main reasons for Cherry's return. This is a sweet clean cowboy romance by a wonderful author Elana Johnson. I highly recommend it.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntaril
A great finale to the Cooper family saga. While Cherry is the oldest, she is the last to find her happily ever after. Because of mistakes from her past, she can't forgive herself and has a hard time letting people, especially men, into her life. Jed Forrester, the salty cowboy next door pushes his way in and helps her find a way to forgive. Of course it is not always a smooth road as Cherry resists him along the way. The Cooper family is a loud group of red heads who fight and push each other, but also love each other deeply. I loved this series and no one can write wedding scenes like Elena.
I have enjoyed every book in this series and this last book is the best yet. I had been waiting for Cherry's story and Elana Johnson did not disappoint. This book made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes and made me smile. This book is so well written that you feel like you are a part of this big family. Cherry and Jed had to figure out how to be together and it's not easy. This book also catches us up with the couples from the previous books. A really great read that I couldn't put down.
Love Sweet Water Falls Farm! Cherry doesn’t want a long-distance romance and she wants to patch things up with Jed! That means quitting her job and moving back home to Sweet Water Falls. But she must come to terms with the reasons she left her home town and she must tell Jed those reasons before he finds out from someone else. You will fall in love with this loud, boisterous family that loves each other fiercely. Don’t miss this final book about the Cooper family. Another great, clean read from Elana Johnson!
I love that this story is about the oldest sibling last! It’s not new young love, it’s older seasoned love that knows how to wait and grow together!! The main characters both need to work through some secrets and that path is wrought with miscommunication and selfishness. I read this is one sitting because I couldn’t put it down! I hate that this is the end to the series, but love, love this family!! I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I loved this book. I was so looking forward to getting to know Cherry better from the previous books I had read and this story for her and Jed was great. I enjoyed the way they interacted with each other and the way they learned how each other thought and worked through things in their own way. These two are really a good match and the author does a wonderful job of wrapping up the whole family at the end. I will miss this family, I have really enjoyed their HEA stories and this one is special.
I really liked this story . Poor Cherry, the oldest of the large Cooper family she had difficulties expressing her feelings. Jed, a neighbor and friend of her brothers, Lee, had a crush on Cherry for a long time. Their courtship and getting to know each other better was a difficult time for them. One of the greater things in this story, was how the other siblings were included in the ending.
I love all of Elana’s books. She’s a phenomenal author. Her characters are so real, and I feel like I know them. It was wonderful how Cherry finally got past all her struggles, and Jed supported and loved her through them. He also pushed her, and wouldn’t accept her being non committed on certain things. It was wonderful how she wrapped up the other characters as well. I can never put down her books when I start reading them. Highly recommend this book.
The last Cooper sibling is looking for love...she just wishes it wouldn’t be in her hometown, or with the saltiest cowboy on the planet.
The story is heartwarming and will take your emotions on a ride but it's so worth it. The characters are fun, enjoyable and become great book friends you feel like you've known for a lifetime. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cherry and Jed have been dancing around each other for months, they went out but broke up when he said it was too far to travel to see her from the ranch. Now she's back, her mother isn't well and her sister has had a baby, she wants to be nearer family. Can they make a go of it? Will they communicate? Jed is salty but she's sassy, and often doesn't say yes!
