Nate’s a Chicago librarian who moved home to Highland Falls. Elle traded the big city to be closer to her small-town family. When these strangers become friends, can Nate convince Elle to follow her dreams—and take a chance on him?
I loved this! I want to live in Highland Falls. Nate and Elle have both had big changes recently and both are a little unsure but when their eyes first meet each other their connection is intense! Such a lovely feel good story with zero drama! Really looking forward to seeing who is next to fall in Highland Falls!
It is official. Nate Roberts is my new all time favorite MMC.
I read this book in one afternoon. I absolutely fell in love with Nate and Elle and was rooting for them from the very beginning! Right out of the gate Nate was everything you want in a book boyfriend; charming, charismatic, and sweet. The small town setting also really helped to set the mood! The meddling friends, nosy acquaintances, and everyone knowing everything about everyone built the story up and made me feel like I was right at home in the book. I felt all of the feelings with these characters. Kat Ryan wrote an amazing book with complex and empathetic characters that created deep emotional connections. I am planning to run to the Kindle Store and read as many of these books as possible.
nate and elle both recently moved to highland falls from chicago and meet on elle's first day in town. nate works at the local library and elle is a writer so starts to work in the library during the day. it was a relatively quick read- less than 150 pages- and there was a 6 week jump so we missed the pining so it felt very quick and insta love but still very cute! its book 4 in a series and you definitely didn't need to read the other books but the vibe of the town and the friends are so cute that i want to start the series now! the other books are also over 300 pages, so hopefully there will be more pining and a slower burn
I want to live in this quaint town of Highland Falls. This was the perfect novella for the holidays, especially during this busy time when you just want to jump in for a quick read and feel good attitude. Elle is trying to navigate her way to figure out what she really wants to do with her life. If she should take the chance to pursue her dream of a lifetime. Nate is just the guy to encourage her. He’s they guy we’re all searching for!
This is a story of sometimes the best things happen when you last expect them to and it pays to take the chance.
Almost as if it was written by someone else - there are jumps into next scenes that are too abrupt and I had to re-read in 5 or 6 places to confirm where I was in the story. Re-editing might help and filling in some of the blanks would make the story more readable. The series could be read without this addition.
This is a fast paced short cute story. I don't have much to say because I enjoyed it but It didn't change my life. It's a cozy reading with a good cup of tea 🩶
Now I have to read the rest of the books!
As someone who's thinking of writing something and working in a library or a bookshop, I find this incredible funny because IMAGINE if this happens to you.
This is a very cute, quick Christmas novella following an editor who moves to a small town and meets a librarian. They immediately fall for each other but it definitely takes a while to realize the other has feelings as well, but this book has some great tropes: forced proximity, friends to lovers, small town romance, and a golden retriever MMC.
Good quick sweet read Happy to be back in Highland Falls for this good, quick, sweet book. Nate & Elle are such sweet characters & I loved watching them grow as a couple.
Great quick read from Kat. Not too spicy of a romance and heartfelt when it needed to be. A fast tracked love story but fits the world that has been built.
This book was fine. 3 stars was kind of generous. It’s not that it was bad but the plot just fell perfectly where it needed to. I think the story itself wasn’t great and there was “character development” but it felt forced. Overall wouldn’t suggest but not upset I read it.
