Rhys Le Noireau is a conflicted man.
His mother Astral told him a lot of things, but she never told him that he was heir to a multi-billion dollar estate in the tiny Caribbean island of Trinidad.
While Astral lies comatose in a Washington DC facility, Rhys discovers, not only has he, as the last surviving Le Noireau male, inherited the estate but the codicil of his Great-grandfather's will is explicit. He must return to Trinidad and live in the Le Noireau Chateau in Scotland Bay, a village where no one has lived since 1941.

Annalise Roach has finally got the man of her dreams.
As ‘Girl Friday’ to his mother, Astral Le Noireau, she has been there to comfort Rhys through his mother's illness and gently love him through life's storms.
Just when Annalise thinks she can relax and enjoy their relationship, the codicil in Jean Claude Le Noireau's will, surfaces, ripping away her chance of happiness, and taking Rhys on a perilous journey through churning Caribbean tides, that wash him and their relationship upon the rocky shores of Scotland Bay at the foot of the Chateau on the Hill.

The second novel in the dual-timeline series, Scotland Bay the Return, takes Rhys Le Noireau back to Trinidad and his family's ancestral home, the Chateau in Scotland Bay.

******

After discovering that he is heir to the multibillion-dollar estate in the Caribbean island of Trinidad, Rhys Le Noireau and Desmond Roche, his mother's attorney and friend, head to Trinidad to restore the Le Noireau Chateau and rebuild the village of Scotland Bay, where no one has lived since 1941.

Rhys meets stiff opposition from Lucien Bouisguard, Commissioner of Police in Trinidad, who vehemently opposes the idea of restoring the Chateau and the village where he grew up, poor and ridiculed by the French creole plantocracy.
He has no intention of allowing anyone to reconstruct monuments to those memories, or to give up the wealth he has amassed through his relationship with the Le Noireau family name.

Illegitimate, illegal, or otherwise, Lucien is hell-bent on keeping the status and wealth that his relationship with the Le Noireau family name has given to him.

Excellent Read.

A mixture of history Romance and intrigue. I loved how the author took us back to the historical times in the island of Trinidad. The description and imagery of the locale was vivid . I could actually visualise the country and the houses. I was actually in the car with Astral driving from one location to the next. The touch of romance and passion was emotive. I loved The transition from present day to the past
Was smoothly done . Can't wait to read the other books in the series.
