A Second Glance
New car. New house. New job.
A new start.
A chance to get it right.
It’s just what I need after life with my ex and his shady friends.
What I don’t need is my handsome neighbor Chris and all of his friends sticking their noses in my business. And I definitely do not need Mr. Hotty Next Door’s son anywhere near my life.
But I get all of the above—and then some.
Chris and his friends challenge my view on humanity in general at every turn until I don’t know what to think anymore. Words like ‘trust,’ ‘help,’ and ‘friendship’ find their way into my vocabulary, even after they know the truth about my past. And that little boy . . . Meeting him is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
His father is a close second, though. Despite my age, my past, and my general dislike of children other than his, Chris decides to take a chance on me. For the first time in my life, everything is perfect.
But I’m not the only one with a past, and his is a problem.
