It’s Christmas and there’s an extra special gift under the tree… A corpse. When Holly’s asked to dog sit several rowdy and intelligent Border Collies at a rich holidaymaker’s cabin in the woods, she’s signed up before the request has even left the elderly woman’s lips. What’s not to love? Collies, Christmas, and a snowy getaway at a cozy cabin? Yes, please!
But when one of the guests at the exclusive cabin party is found dead under the Christmas tree, Holly knows things are about to get… mysterious. They’re snowed in, trapped in the woods with a potential murderer, and it could be any of them.
Holly’s got to figure out whodunit, with the help of the smart Collie dogs, before another guest falls prey to the murderer.

“We have to come to terms with the fact that the murderer is still here. That, if the house was locked up tight and no one could get in or out, then it had to have been one of us. (…) “If I’d thought my eventful Christmas was over, and that this getaway would give me time to think about my life, boy had I been wrong.” - Holly Jameson
Have a Jolly Collie Christmas is an absolutely delightful read! I love this series and have determined that anything written by Rosie A. Point is absolute aces! I’m already hooked on the Sunny Side Up series.
The only thing I wish was different about the A Very Murder Christmas was I wish it were longer. I absolutely adore this series. It is a quintessential cozy mystery and highly addictive! Brain candy to the extreme, allowing you to forget all else and get lost into the story. You’ll love Holly and Dixie, I can promise you that!
I cannot say enough good things about this series and I’ll scream my recommendation from the mountain tops.
Bais :D
This is the third and final Kindle Quick Read book in the Holly and Dixie series of Christmas murder mysteries. These are cute stories steeped in the warmth and atmosphere of the wintertime Christmas season.
Just as Holly seems to be getting some important aspects of her life together, she again finds herself embroiled in a murder whodunnit. Being snowed in with no phone service and unable to contact the police, the group attending an after-Christmas party at a cabin in the woods turns to Holly to investigate as best she can for a couple of days until the police can get to the cabin and take over.
These are light-hearted stories with gentle murders and mostly non-threatening culprits. It’s fun to see how Holly matures personally and professionally and takes responsibility for her lot in life, standing up for her personal decisions and learning to lean on those who love her.
I’m grateful there’s only a hint of romance in this story, and happy the series can end on a positive note, with Holly and her dachshund Dixie enjoying their life in Full Fork and looking forward to a happy new year!!!
I've enjoyed this little trilogy so much! Knowing this was the final book was a little bit sad , but I guess I could just read the books again. Or I can always hope that Dixie and Holly appear in another trilogy next Christmas? ;) The author did an amazing job of describing Dixie the dachshund's moves, thoughts and cuteness...and she totally nailed it. Dixie's a lot like my little dachsie, which of course, is one reason I've loved this series so much. I was very happy with how things wrapped up with the trilogy.
I had the killer picked out, but I really think it was more about the process of catching them. And it was pretty awesome how Holly figured it out. She and her bestie had a little falling-out, but by the end, they were like nothing ever happened. I'd really love to read about whether Holly achieves her dream in a year. Somehow, I think she's gonna be a success, and I could definitely get into another series with her and Dixie centered around a possible doggie daycare. Hey, it'd be so cool if it was next door to May's pet cafe, right?
It’s Christmas. A time to spend with family but Holly can't wait to get away from hers. When May offers a dog-sitting job at her grandmother’s cabin, Holly joyfully accepts. It will be a quiet, peaceful break from the pressures she is under at home. Quiet and peaceful until she finds a body under the Christmas tree.
Holly and Dixie are becoming good detectives! This has turned into an interesting cozy mystery series. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Holly Jameson wanted to start her own doggie daycare. After dumping her cheating boyfriend and moving back to her hometown, she runs into a bit of trouble, namely a dead body. Her sisters were coming to visit her mother for Christmas and she was dreading the visit. Since she had helped the police solve the murder, she was being accepted more in the community.
Holly and her dog are spending a week in a snowy cabin with people just as “pleasant” as her own family. Who would’ve thought that she’ d find a dead body under the Christmas tree?
With the roads blocked and no cell reception, they had no way to get help. On top of that, they all had to contend that they were stuck in the snowed-in cabin with a murderer. Oh boy.
Holly is asked by May to help dog sit two border collies named mint and julep at her family cabin for a post Christmas get together. She decides to go so she can get away and relax since the last few weeks have been crazy with murder and a relationship she’s trying to figure out. But to her surprise she is once again witness to a murder and searches for clues to solve it. Harry come into play too. This novella series was really cute. I’d love to see more of a full length novel at some point.
I kept getting distracted with various "stuff" that took me away from finishing the last installment of this three-book Christmas-themed short series. I typically read cozy mystery books in a couple of days, but this one didn't get the attention it deserved. It was as good as the first two and I hope there are more books coming with the same characters!
May's Grandma's Christmas party with her friends at her cabin while Holly is dog sitting two border collies. Holly finds a dead body (Mr Taylor) under the Christmas tree. Suspects - May's Grandma, the victim's daughter and son in law, Two sisters Gina and Carla. Holly's on the case until the road clears as they're all Snowed In with no cell phone service. I really enjoyed this story and Series, it was fun and quirky read.
Holly and Dixie are helping May’s grandmother with her Christmas party. Holly is to keep the collies out of mischief. However, there is a murder. Now Holly is playing detective while being snow bound at the cabin with no cell service. In the end, Holly gets her confidence back!
I thoroughly enjoy this third book. Holly makes a lot of personal growth in this one. It has a good mystery which kept me guessing till the end and I guessed wrong! It has a little romance and a lot of laugh out loud moments. Good quirky characters. I hope that she revives Holly in a future series!
I loved this cozy mystery. The doggy theme was fun, and so was the Christmas time of setting. Dixie stole the story, a cute and intelligent dog. Truly, the main character, Holly, is an amateur detective but she is persistent. A little murder, a little romance, and a lovely fun read.
An enjoyable story with a good bunch of characters. Three dogs add to the mix. Usually wrapped gifts are left under the Christmas tree. This gift wasn't wrapped. And it was too big to wrap. Where can the time come from to wrap a dead body? Suspects are narrowed down as the snow builds up. Recommended
Another page turner which had me hooked. Holly has a penchant for coming across dead bodies but this time the suspects include people close to her. A well woven story by the author which was interesting in spite of being a short read.
Thi s book was a very short wenjoyable cozy mystery perfect for thi time of year. Enjoyed figuring it out as I went along. Great way to spend a cold afternoon in January. Looking foorward to a second book in series.
Rosie A. Point never disappoints. Another awesome read. Really enjoyable easy read with great characters and dogs. I think anyone who enjoys a mystery will enjoy this book
Cute holiday cozy. Well written with fun characters. I really enjoyed reading all 3 books & hope there will be more. I would like to see how Holly's life turns out.
This series has been a fun fast read for me and will read other books by this author! These books are definitely a rainy day or snowy day by the fire kind of reads!
I love that Holly finally found her voice.and took May up on her offer of working for her in the cafe and she is building up her clientele and she if finally dating again and not letting Carl win. I recommend this book to every one I know. I look forward to reading more.
A murder most fowl! And during Christmas Holiday. A crime in itself. Can Holly and Dixie solve it before someone else is killed? Read the Mystery and find out. A great murder mystery! Debra H.
Christmas time murder story with dogs....can't get any better! This is a fun read for everyone who enjoys clean writing. Join Holly, Dixie & a the townfolk in solving another murder. Truly hope the author writes more of these books!!
Fue una lectura rápida que no se estancó en los detalles y aunque es breve, la trama está bien ejecutada. Los personajes son agradables y divertidos de leer. La conclusión fue un poco apresurada, sin embargo, lo disfruté.
Thank you for another easy read Christmas Cozy Mystery. It was a Nice escape to read. I like hie Holly reviews the potential guilty people by writing in her diary. Robert Ericksen
A town where all animals are welcome everywhere and a good mystery to boot. I am really enjoying listening to this author's audio books which has a few twists and turns. The amateur sleuth is not always the most favourite person.
