They say that true love conquers all - but at what cost? Iain saw the glint of the dawn’s light on metal, and in an instant leapt to his feet. Liv was equally as nimble, snatching her sword from where it lay at the foot of the bed.
The attacker was much too close for Iain to use his bow. Still, he grabbed for an arrow hoping to plunge the razor-sharp broadhead into the assailant’s body. He's going to kill my wife less than an hour after we're married. Liv was completely exposed—fully naked—and without any protection, save for her sword.
Metal rang out as Liv narrowly blocked the enemy's blade. The tent was dark and all that Iain could make out was the faint silhouette of a tall, ominous man wielding a sword. Was this it? After everything that he and Liv had been through together, was this how it would all end??
"Conquered: The Shield Maiden's Highlander" is a historical romance with a Viking - Highlander twist! Guaranteed to get your blood boiling and captivate your imagination.
I am voluntarily leaving this review. This was such a great ending to this short story! It ended with a happily ever after for Iain and Liv, Torel and Yrsa and Hilde and Henri!
With the threat of a new chieftain, it’s time for Iain, Liv, Torel, Yesa and Henri to return to Ribe and take their rightful place. With the help of Hilde, they are able to fight for what is rightfully theirs. While new love blossoms.
I do wish I would have found out what happened to Iain’s original Falcon, I’m glad he was able to get a new one. This was a great fast read! I can’t wait to see what else Fiona Knightley has in store for us!
Really enjoy this author’s writings, to me (at least) historically realistic, great characters, and great insights into the culture and lives of these people. Here, we’ve encountered two very different cultures. And of course, individual characters with universal traits - selfish, evil, greedy, power-driven, empathic, caring… This is the final of the Shield Maiden’s highlander, and comes with a HEA. I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.
OMG what a great way to finish this series... drama and a HEA. This too is a quick read. Loved this series and can't wait to read more from this author. I would recommend this to everyone
A wonderful ending to this series. Every book was enjoyable and led well into the next. I can't wait for more from this author. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
At last the final instalment in the superb historical series by Fiona Knightley. I have been avidly following the story of Scottish highlander Iain and Viking warrior Liv. From the moment Liv captured Iain on a Viking raid and took him home as a thrall I have been hooked. There have been so many ups and downs in their journey towards a happy ending, so much heartache, but this was a fitting ending. I think this was Fiona’s best series so far. Look forward to reading her next. I received an ARC and am leaving a totally voluntary, unbiased and honest review.

It is fully possible that there could be more.
A worthy end to the story of Iain and Liv. Where they eventually get married before returning to their village, Ribe, where it will be a battle that can lead to death. Where Iain comes to the rescue from an unexpected angle and prevents Troels from being killed. Where Iain and Liv return to Scotland with Hilke and Henry choosing to join them. And I think Iain is a great character. I had to laugh so hard at his prudish behavior. The difference between the Vikings and how they deal with sex versus Iain's faith as a Christian. Amazing how that breaks the intensity of the story.
Enjoyed this series of books from The Shield Maiden's Highlander
I recommend these 6 books to anyone who likes novels set in the Middle Ages. I got an ARC from the writer but that didn't affect my opinion. This review is given voluntarily
The conclusion of Liv and Iain story. They return to Ribe to hold council and have the village decide who will be the leader. Birger or Liv brother Troels? The mysteries are solved of who the true enemy, well plotted out. Another fast read and good ending.
I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story given to me by the author. #Conquered #FionaKnightley
After all the turmoil Iain and Liv have gone through, we finally get to the finale of their story. From the last book, confrontations were to take place to take back control of Liv and Troel's clan from those who killed their parents. The killer was found and Troel was made leader of the clan. The romance of Liv and Iain does have a happy ending with them married and expecting a child. I enjoyed reading this series completely and can't wait to read more from Fiona.

Just the right balance of mystery ,clan relationships, battles and personal love lives ,combine to make this Shield Maiden Series a gripping read from start to finish leaving you wanting more .The relationship between Liv a shield maiden and Ian a quiet gentle Scot was a special fit that pulled me to them and held me close rooting for them all the way. One of the best strong but feel good story’s I have read in a long time
I enjoyed reading this as soon as I started the first chapter. It moved along at a nice pace, has interesting characters that you feel like you know ow and a story that won't disappoint. This book needs to be on your tbr list.
