Even as Joy stared, the face in the mirror changed. She looked at herself, and what she saw was not pleasing. Joy felt herself spiraling out of control. She needed information, and she wasn’t sure how to get it. in her state, she remembered that Kevin knew something about the house, something he had not revealed.
Nice Christmas ending to a story of renewal and second chances. Joy really wanted to recover her family and recover her love and sobriety. Joy tried really hard, but had too many burdens keeping her down. Fortunately, the story ends on a do over.
This was a nice change from other books of this author that I've read. I liked the cautionary tale of keeping the house as a reminder of what she doesn't want to become. The addiction side of the story was fresh for this author too. Really enjoyed this one. Think this is my favorite by Cat.
