Hook, Line, Professor #2

Hook, Line Professor: Part Two

Rate this book
Rein

One night.
That was the agreement. That’s all we permitted ourselves.
Just one unforgettable night to surrender to temptation and dispel the magnetic attraction we have for one another.

We share a profound connection that keeps luring us together, despite our best efforts to stay away.
Despite it being forbidden.

Talon Saxon—by day he was my Fine Arts Professor, and by night, behind closed doors, he was my lover, my saviour. I had no idea that I could become so addicted to one human being until I got a taste of him.

I couldn’t get enough, and neither could he.

I don’t believe in love. I never have, but then he came along with his tall, robust frame, a face carved by angels and a body sculpted by the Greek Gods.

Oh, and a mouth crafted by the devil himself.

With every illicit touch and fiery kiss, I was coaxed in deeper, until I unwittingly fell headfirst into a love so sinful, I was blinded.

I know as much about love as I do about him, which is next to nothing.

But I know he’s dead set on keeping his past a secret.

A past that would ultimately be my ruin...

Hook, Line, Professor - Part II is part of a duet. You must read Part I to understand this one.

Well if this didn’t just rip my heart out towards the end of the book! Honestly, I was getting worried that it would leave on a cliff hanger but so happy it didn’t😅

I think I can say this for anyone whose gone through heartache can agree with Rein when she said, “that it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all”. Thank you Shayla for reminding us that when we are at our lowest, we have to get back up and persevere!

When she quoted what her mom said about loving someone and making sure they don’t see you cry, resonated with me when I went through my first heartbreak and what a great reminder!

Love this book and so excited about her other projects! Also, I loved that she included the song she felt that best fit the chapter on the chapter page instead of at the beginning of the book.

I’m so ridiculously in love with Talon and Rein’s story.
It’s filled with romance, love, spice, sexual tension, heart ache, grief and so much more.
I was laughing, crying, swooning, high pitch squealing and sobbing into my pillow… a true rollercoaster of emotions.
Absolutely flipping phenomenal.
I got swept up in their story and I don’t ever want to leave.

I got to read this book through being selected for an ARC so I could leave an honest review!
The female lead Rein is a badass, I loved her spirit and how she never gives up she defo has a hell of a lot of fire in her! As for Professor hottie he’s just a confused man trying to do the right thing the wrong way with the best intentions but ends up coming across as all wrong (poor guy). And all the different movie quotes I came across mostly from my favourite movies/tv shows was fun to pick up on! The emotion Shayla can portray through her characters is second to none and I cried along side Rein at points and my heart broke for poor Talon.

I liked it but I felt disappointed.

I enjoyed it but I would have loved to have read the aftermath. The ending felt rushed one minute it’s this then it’s 6 months later.

Or you could have written a third.

1st book had me hooked. The second book was good right up until in the end. Shame.

I never ever gave one star before. And I never regreted reading a book. Until now.

Well there is a first time for everything I guess.

Uh, where to start.

First let me tell you, do not waist your time. If you want to read this do not finish it.

Secod yes it was hot, but please do not have big expectations for the second book.

For the love of god I am so mad.

If I could I would rate this with zero. Less then zero.

For the love of god this is worst than Twilight. Twilight is the best book ever in comparison to this.

Yes the plot was obvious. Wow she got the heart. The only thing that shocked me is that he new it all along. Like, that is twisted.

No no, everything started to go downhill from the moment she called him Daddy.

What? First of all he lost a child. How is that okay for him? Weird much? And she doesn't know who her father is. Daddy issues but for real not in a hot sexy way.

You know, I read a lot of wird and twisted things in this kind of books. And let me tell you :
The Prist doing it in the Church? Freaking hot. ;
Carving initials in someone's flesh while doing it, also hot. ;

I was okay and more than okay with all the weird sh**t I read.
But this? Nope. I was so frustrated reading it.

Oh let's not forget she is worse character then Bella from Twilight, no let me correct that, worse than Kristen Stewart.

And the way he just keep changing his mind. I am 27 years old, 28 in couple of days. He acted like he is 5.

I want her. I do not want her. But I want her. Oh I love her. No let her go. But I want to f**k her. Kmeeee. Let's hurt her. But let then f**k her.

Oh and the way she needed to be so pathetic? And every unbelievable thing happened to her? And she did not even called her family? Like you are on the street and that is your solution?

And all the events that were meaningless at the end, like the writers forgot what she was trying to do. Forgot about the plot.

And then the end. My goodness. The worst ending in the world. How is this even published? You write this and send it to someone to read it? And no one told you, hey look you just wrote: I hate him he hurt me I do not trust him and I do not know if I ever will, he lied to me and tricked me. But yeah he loves me I know it from his actions not his words.

Seriously?????????????

And the part where she is pregnant?

Plese just....

This had some much potential, at least to be dissent book. Which you can read on the beach to take your mind of your work and life. But noooooooooo..

It was so predictable and ordinary and not in the good way.

The first chapter of the first book and the last chapter? Two different authors and two different books.

The worst thing I ever read.

HLP was great. I loved the first book. I liked the second. It was fun and forbidden. I’ve read many student/teacher trope books and I’ve loved some and I’ve hated some. Mrs. Hart kept it fresh and spicy in this one. The first book was spicy, but the second really brought the heat. These two couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Every moment they could carve for each other they did. And that club scene… GAH. Their chemistry was off the charts. Explosive at times.

Rein was such a fierce person. She’d been dealt a crappy hand in her life many times over but she kept playing the game. Made lemonade out of her lemons. Her struggles were real and raw. And even though at times she had to be told just how fierce she was, she never stopped trying. She didn’t give up. She was shy and timid at first, but she grew into this woman who spoke her mind when she wanted something.

Talon was broody as heck. But it worked for him. He’d suffered a debilitating loss and it guided his choices and his actions. He didn’t always make the right choices, but that’s what made him real. At one point in the book he said he didn’t care if people feared or loathed him, because in the end they would respect him for pushing them to their full potential. I liked that about him. He wasn’t here to make friends, he was here to mold students into their very best.

This story was about love in the most unlikely of places. It was about second chances. It was about seeing the world one way and learning it was entirely another. It was learning that while life was hard, downright mean, and cruel, it was still worth it in the end.

The twist… I didn’t see that one coming. It was a total WTF did I just read moment. But it made this story. Everything suddenly made sense.

The ONE thing I didn’t like was that halfway through the second story Rein adopted a pet name for Talon that did not fit. Now don’t get me wrong, I have no issues with this being done in books, it just didn’t fit here. Every time she said it, it took me right out of the story. It felt cringy and weird for these characters.

Other than that, I loved the way their story concluded, even if I wished for a bit more at the end. Overall this one was 4 stars for me. And I am excited to see what she comes up with next.

In part 2 of our story about rein and Talon we continue to see more of the combustible pull these two have. We also continue to see them fight themselves more with accepting their feelings for one another. Eventually things come to head and they are exposed. However, their relationship wasn't the only thing exposed.

One thing I love about the heroines shayla writes is they are always strong and confident in their sexuality even when they fight their insecurities.

I did enjoy their story, the reason I gave their story a 4 star versus a 5 was I felt it was wrapped up so quickly that I almost felt I was missing something even with the epilogue.

The first one was written better

I'm disappointed because I love the first book and was looking forward for this one but it fell flat. I hate it the ending and the spicy scene the wording in them... cringe. I hate it the horrible communication between the main characters.

And the use of the words "member" "seed" "mammoth cock" were making me cringe

OH WOW. WOW. WOW.

I'm a little (kinda a lot) in love.

Part two of Talon and Rein's story was everything I never knew I needed and more!

I couldn't put this book down. It was incredible from start to finish.

I couldn't wait to get stuck in after the cliffhanger of the first book and I was hooked from the very first chapter.

I absolutely loved everything about it, the characters, Talon and Rein just got better and better. I loved them. the story, oh man the plot line, it was incredible. I'm not giving anything away as I don't want to spoil it, but wow! I had not seen certain elements of the plot coming and it swept me off my feet. You know what also swept me off my feet, the chemistry between these two characters which only seemed to get hotter in this book.

This was without a doubt worth every second of the wait and I already can't wait to read it again!

So this is my first time writing a review but i was so frustrated with this book because it had great potential.
I liked the first book, i loved reading about an FMC that has dignity and working hard for her dreams but it all went down the drain in the second book because even though the FMC talks a lot about pride but she clearly has none anymore and it showed a lot in the fights between Rein and Talon when there is no communication and he treats her badly and she forgives him for lying to her in 2 minutes driven by her sexual desires.🤦‍♀️
It's was giving a vibe of a strong independent ambitious FMC but only as a cover for a weak FMC who's ready to throw away her dreams every time she faces a problem and becomes a doormat for the MMC.
And while i was happy with an MMC that says that he doesn't make a habit of imposing upon women, i was let down again by him becoming the caveman type.

over too soon 😕

Pre ordered this and started reading it straight away. Loved it but there was a few negatives for me. Firstly instead of all the long drawn out sex scenes and there were a lot I would of preferred more of the story after they got back together in England and he found out she was pregnant even an epilogue from his point of view would made the story more complete for me. Talons back and fourth also gave me whip lash and he was very much led by his penis, he did come through for her in the end though. As for Rein absolutely loved her. Strong independent and kept her head high. First books I’ve read by this author definitely will not be the last 👍😁. Just read there will be a novella yaaaaay 🥰

While I loved the first book, this one was a little bittersweet. Of course it had smut(amazing by the way!) But I wanted more happening between them. She said she was fierce but a kiss only could make her forget everything that was happening between them. I mean yeah our professor was hot as sin, but giiirll dignity please. He is closed off, ge can't make up his mind and he is jeopardizing both their futures with his decisions.
The good things I found:
The smut between them:hooootttt
The feelings when they were the two of them: swooning
The bad things:
Only that it was a constant repetition of them f*ing while those pages could be used to make the drama more DRAMA you know what I mean? They were careful in 2 books but the drama happened in 5 pages tops.
I'm off to read the 3rd book now.

Good but could be great

I loved the continuation of this love story.
I couldn’t put it down. Different from other teacher/student books I’ve read, although the first 5 chapter of Part I made me think it was going to be very similar to Teach Me Dirty by Jade West.
The steamy scenes were 🔥🔥 but too many fade-to-blacks for my tastes.
The two main downfalls for me were the editing and the vernacular. The MCs are English and Australian and the story is set in the US, but many Americans use UK or Aus slang and that bugged me.
Also the editing could have been better. It felt like the author overused a thesaurus.

All in all, a good reach and I’m looking forward to Prt III

If I haven’t said it before allow me to say it again - SHAYLA HART does not disappoint!

This book is filled with everything that romance comes with it. The story line between Talon and Rein is everything that I feel like I’m actually their with them - going through every pain, heartache, love, spice, happy moments, tears and joy.

The moment Rein quoted her mother was the moment my heart melt. And let’s talk about the plot twist towards the end! I DID not see that coming not even for a second did the thought cross my mind.

Talon is a man that is actually I love with Rein and won’t stop at any moment to let her go one more time.

"Sometimes you have to break the rules"

Back with Talon and Rein, Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left  on that cliffhanger!!

This book is hot & declicous from start to finish- the chemistry and emotion that Talon & Rein have for each other is sooo good!

I couldn't put this book down, my heart broke for them both when a secret is revealed and I did not see it coming within the plot. I love Shayla's writing style you can feel the emotion as you are reading especially towards the end of the book.

Cannot wait for more of Rein & Talon in their Novella.

When forbidden love is the kind that is craved the most. If this is the kind of book that you desire look no further. The anticipation with how part one ended had me counting down the days until part 2 was released and it did not disappoint. The raw emotions felt from the characters in this book were refreshing and didn’t fall flat and the end of this book leaves me craving more of this storyline and these characters! This book was so sensual and just wow is really all I can say. Shayla Hart has done it again with another phenomenal book!

Wow! After waiting what felt like forever to read the second half of Talon and Rein’s story. I couldn’t be more inlove or more happy! Talon and Rein have this great love and it was like they were always suppose to be together! Rein and Talon go through many different struggles to be together but in the end they get their happy ever after. I was on a Roller coaster of emotions (like I am with all shayla’s books!) and will most likely re-read this book 100 times now. If you want to read something that is full of love, happiness and tears this is the series to read.

Fell Hook, Line & Sinker for these 2

My word, my heart aches for this beautiful duet…the love I felt for Rein & Talon was a massive rollercoaster ride one I’m completely gutted to have come off….so happy that the author as put ‘for now’ as the end as there are a couple of loose ends I would love tied up, such as the obsessive professor and whether Rein gets to see Paris again.

Make sure to have a couple of clear days for these books as it’s a story you’ll never want to put down. 💕

🔥🔥🔥🔥. Wow, there aren’t words to express how hot and steamy this book is.

HLP2 starts where book one leaves off. The beginning wasn’t how I thought the cliffhanger from book one would go. But that’s what I love about Shayla books, they are always full of surprises and you can never predict what’s going to happen next .

There was another plot twist that I never saw coming and I wish Talon would have been honesty with Rein before the Secret came out.

I do wish there was a little more of the story line at the ending. However it was a beautiful ending and i can’t wait to read more of their story in a future book.

Loved the series! Couldn’t put it down read in one day! Didn’t disappoint! The ending I felt was a little rushed wish there could have been more just at the end don’t want to give spoilers away but just felt a little rushed just at the end especially given how great the story and the whole book was! I’m excited there could be a novella just for the little more! I would love a story with JT and Pairs lol! Thank you for a great read love your style.

Sorry, but thus book was kinda boring. And the FMCs whiny and shrieking friend and daddy-gate just made me say nope, no more! There is too much back and forth going on that got in my nerves. Like let’s either decide if you guys wanna break it off or keep sneaking around. The indecisiveness was annoying AF!

Gotta say that the first book was pretty good though. Wished that the author would had wrapped up the story in that one!

Talon and Rein have tried to stay away from each other, but it's a lot harder than they thought it would be. Mutual attraction is so strong that despite the consequences that may await them, they are unable to give up on themselves. They begin to spend more time with each other and get to know each other better, which in addition to desire, they start to develop feelings. But does their relationship have any chance to survive?

The second part is just as brilliant as the first. I got exactly what I was waiting for and even more. The chemistry between Talon and Rein was pure fire. I love everything about this story. Additionally, there were more hot scenes in this volume, which is definitely a plus. I think that this series is one of the best I have read. If you like the topic of the professor and the student, this series is an absolute must-read. I will definitely come back to it and I need to read the author's other books.

OMW this book was just as good if not better than the first one. I could not put it down, as it keeps you on edge all the time to know what happens next and i liked the twist in the story at the end and the good ending. I like the writing style in that the emotions, feelings etc are so well put, one can feel them oneself when reading.

Well done Shayla to another good book!

What an ending!
My little heart was beating out my chest thinking the worst but Ms Hart pulled it back and set my worries free.
Talon and Rein have some undeniable chemistry that no matter how much they fight it they always end up in eachothers orbits.
Absolutely amazing read!
