Another great romance by Cassie with the penultimate forbidden romance between hunter and shifter! I loved the slow but sexy romance between Wyatt and Layla. The sensuality between them was palpable and led to some seriously steamy moments, but I also loved their quieter moments of devotion. I've enjoyed this series by Cassie so much and I'm sad to finally read the ending, but I cannot wait to see what Cassie has in store next! ♡

Awaken was SO GOOD! I absolutely loved Wyatt and Layla. I’ve been a fan of this series since it first came out and this book did not disappoint! Wyatt and Layla come from the paranormal version of the opposite sides of the track. As a hunter, Wyatt is a witch cursed to repeatedly succumb to bloodlust. The only cure for bloodlust is shifter blood. Hunters are kind of like vampires, but instead of feeding on humans they feed on shifters. Layla is a shifter who suddenly finds herself tending to an injured man, only to discover that the man is actually a hunter! Awaken combines some mystery and suspense aspects with fated mates romance. I enjoyed every minute and highly recommend it!

Extremely quick and easy read
But here’s my thing now we’re in book 3… there is so much hidden mystery in the hunters curse I think we need more books to explain some unanswered questions

A long time ago a coven of witches wanted to destroy shapeshifters, but they cursed themselves. They cursed their whole bloodline, current and descendants, they now craved the one thing that repulsed them shifter blood.
Wyatt Hale grew up hearing about a cure for the curse placed upon him before birth. He will do anything to get what he needs for the spell so he can rid himself of the bloodlust that cost him the life of someone he held dear.
Layla has lived her whole life looking over her shoulder knowing a hunter could be lurking. Over the last few years, it has gotten worse and worse. As the pack healer, all she wants is peace between everyone. She wants the bloodshed to stop.
After her pack was attacked by a group of hunters Layla is sure she will never get the peace she craves, until she finds Wyatt under her back porch inches away from death. She knows he's a hunter and shouldn't save him, but something is pulling her toward him.
All she has to do is heal him and send him on his way.
Oh, and keep what she is a secret.
Wyatt was saved by an angel and thinks he found a perfect opportunity to learn more about the local pack and find a way to save himself. But what are these new feelings he has growing inside him, like a need to protect his angel?
Finally, I found out more about the curse but now I want more stories about members of each pack. I knew with book one in this series I wanted more but now I need more stories. I don't want to leave these small towns behind.
It took me so long to read because I dreaded being done. I absolutely loved getting to see the full-blown hunter side of the curse. Watching Wyatt struggle with his bloodlust did make me emotional, just a little bit. The sacrifice Wyatt made, IFKYK, had me in a chokehold and made me love him even more. I saw more of myself in Layla because, throughout the whole series, I just wanted them to find peace and stop all the bloodshed that was happening.
Without a doubt, I will be revisiting this series multiple times. The stories are so easy to read, and not too long, and Cassie is an amazing writer.

It is said all is fair in love and war. Well, this book drives that point home, but in a very different way. Wyatt and Layla grow on you. You see their indecision, you feel their confusion and you understand just how hard it will be for them to be together. Shifters aren’t suppose to be with hunters, or so they say. But when it’s meant to be, it’s hard to fight.
There will be trust issues, there will be betrayal and a traitor is in the midst. Somehow, someway, Wyatt and Layla have to be the fighters they were born to be all the while being the peacemakers bringing an end to generations of bloodlust between two species.
I really like a good werewolf book but have not been much of a fan when other species play a role. This book was different. The blending of the two was not overwhelming but still got all the needed points across. I read straight through in an afternoon wanting to know what was going to happen and just how it would come about.

Layla finds a gravely injured man under her porch. The fact that he is considered an enemy to her kind doesn't stop her compassionate nature from healing him. There is so much more to discover about the enemy recovering on her sofa. Wyatt's shirtless muscles, devilish dimples and sinful smirk won't be too awful for her to look at while the truth is uncovered.
Inner conflict, betrayal, a centuries old curse, traitorous enemies, bloodlust, and scorching attraction. This addition to the small packs/timber falls series packs a lot in. So much tension and turmoil. I love the push /pull of the forbidden element to the romance. But they can't fight fate. I do enjoy a fated mates story.
The loyalty of Baker! - everyone needs a Baker in their life. This one packs a punch with both the action and heat. Glad to see a HEA ending. Cassie never disappoints.

I couldn't wait to read this book. This is the third book and it was amazing. This is the story of wolf shifter Layla and her fated mate Wyatt, who just so happens to be a hunter. Layla can't understand why fate would bring her Wyatt as her mate, after all he is a blood thirsty monster a hunter. After an attack by the hunters Layla stumbles across someone under her porch bleeding and dying. She is drawn to him and isn't sure why.
This is their journey to their happily ever after. The story pulls in previous characters. The story will hold your attention in trying to figure what will happen next. I enjoyed this book and series. You will not want to miss them.

I'm sad to see this series end. I wished we got at least to see a happy end for Brax's brothers and Baker, maybe even for Ash. They were such a big part of these books. I'd love to see them get their happily ever after as well.
This book was everything. Forbidden love, opposites attract.
I always knew there was more to those hunters than just bloodlust. Deep down they're still the witches they used to be.
Layla has such a pure heart. Even after hunters attack and slaughter her pack, she couldn't let the injured hunter on her porch die.
How big are the chances that said hunter is your mate? Probably just as big as the chance that there's a traitor in your pack.
I'm absolutely obsessed with Cassie's ability to create stories like this.

This is book 3 in Small Town Packs. This is the story of Shifter Layla and human hunter Wyatt Hale. Wow this one has complicated down to a really big problem. A traitor, secrets and misdirection, drama and danger, but most of all a shifter and a magic user witch turned hunter that craves blood from shifters turns into a mating love story but will Wyatt be a danger to the pack or will the pack be a danger to Wyatt and what will Layla do to keep her mate and her pack safe. I loved this book and can not wait to read the next book.

An attack on Timber Falls leaves Layla tired of bloodshed and so when she finds a hunter, her enemy, badly wounded and practically on her doorstep, she does the unthinkable - she saves him. Wyatt's bloodlust should be uncontrollable around a shifter, but there's something different about Layla. Will it be enough to keep him from seeking a cure by slaying her father?
A steamy (and sweet!) enemies-to-lovers novella that kept me up past my bedtime - no doubt because it's my favourite instalment of the series by far. I was almost instantly in love with Layla and Wyatt and I was ready to protect them from everyone on all sides. xD An enjoyable read.

Enjoyable enimies to lovers, shifter romance. Any book that has a protective and slightly arrogant man immediately has my attention. While there is some outside conflict this book focused on the two main characters Layla a shifter and Wyatt a hunter, and their relationship. Shifters and hunters normally kill each other, but Layla finds Wyatt almost dead near her home and decides to save him, because she is tired of all the death. Everything surrounding them becomes more complicated the closer they get, especially with Layla's pack searching for hunters in the area.

I loved Layla and Wyatt.
This book is what I like to call bubblegum, it's sweet and adorable but it still has enough action and Sass to keep me hooked. It has Wolf Shifters and Hunters, witches and curses and betrayal and it's just the perfect balance of fluffy and tense and there might not be a whole lotta schmexy times but after being in a solid book slump, I devoured this book.
I highly recommend if you want something a lil sweet with some blood and some fighting and an adorable lil HEA, to read this book.
Plus there's some pretty schmexy eye candy littered amongst the pages

This was a small town romance supernatural style. How do two enemies see through their pasts to walk a path together? This story of Layla and Wyatt tell that magical tale involving shifters and witches who have been cursed with a bloodlust. Layla and Wyatt, and Baker are some pretty amazing characters to follow on this adventure.

Trust , once lost is very hard to recover but trust between mates is hard to resist . This is an action packed and emotional story that makes you question everything .Not the sort for a bed time story as it is too full of fear and hatred to give you a peacful sleep . This was the perfect way to end the Small Town Packs books! I loved Wyatt and Layla together. The way the curse plays into it creates the perfect tension and gives readers answers. I also loved seeing characters from previous books. I think my favorite thing about this book was that it gives readers resolution while still allowing for a revisit to this world the author created. I really enjoyed this one!

This is a third book in the Small Town Packs series but the first one I have read. I was able to read it as a complete standalone with no confusion on what was happening. This follows Wyatt and Layla in this enemies to lover shifter romance. There is deceit, betrayal, love, romance, action, suspense and so much more. The writing kept me engaged the entire time. This certainly will not be the last book I read of this series or author.

Cassie, this is a great story! I love Layla and Wyatt. I’m so sad that this series will be ending. But what a way to end the series. I couldn’t put the book down! It is suspenseful, steamy, romantic, loving, mysterious. Can I just say, Baker story?!? Great job Cassie!!

The alpha's daughter, Layla, is dealing with yet another attack on her pack by the bloodthirsty hunters. Witches that are cursed to crave the blood of shifters. Wyatt, one of the hunters on a search for a cure is injured and healed by Layla who doesn't know what he is until it's too late for both of their hearts. But these enemies find more than love, they find hope for a brighter future.

Great addition to the series! The author brings strong characters in Wyatt and Layla and weaves an entertaining story filled with mystery, suspense and romance. She brings the heat and delivers a terrific read.

This is a epic Enemies to lover plot. It has the forbidden love and fated mates all in one story ❤️.
Wyatt is a hunter (cursed witch) and Layla is a wolf shifter. But even bloodlust can't beat fate. 🥰
I liked the straight forward characters and no hidden story. You knew where everyone stood and they didn't muddle feelings. Her cousin Baker was also a favorite and made an impression😍.

Fated mates and an ancient curse....what more could you ask for? Layla is a healer and next in line as alpha for her pack. Wyatt is a Hunter, a deadly enemy, and a man seeking revenge. Everything is against them including an enemy she never expects. The obstacles these two face as they sort through their feelings makes for a fantastic story. I hated for it to end.

This is such a great story! This is the third story in the series and best read in order because you will get more out of it. This is a forbidden fated mates story about Layla and Wyatt. It is a small town romance about a hunter and shifter. The story has suspense, betrayal and passion. I loved every bit of this story!!!

Welcome to Wyatt and Layla's story. If you're looking for drama, intrigue, suspense, steam and romance, then you've definitely found the right book. I read this book first, but am now going back to the beginning because I loved it so much, I want to read the whole series!.

Awaken by Cassie Laelyn is the final story in the Wolves of Timber Falls (Small Town Packs) and as sad as I was to see this series end, the story was perfectly delivered and provided a bittersweet tale that is sure to be well received. All the books in this series are quick reads that thoroughly entertain and capture your heart.

Witty banter, the usual interfering from pack members with Baker, checking up on Layla, as she hid Wyatt. Add a little betrayal and the series was tied up nicely.
