Maintenance Required

Eric
I live my life by a certain standard. There are right and wrong ways to do things, and I always make sure that I'm on the right side. My brothers call me a wet blanket. They say I'm buttoned-up, boring, and that I don't know how to let loose. There's a reason I'm that way, and she just walked through my door. With one wild night, I've thrown all my moral guidelines out the window. Now I'm stuck with her and there's no possible way this could work between us. We're complete opposites in every way, but damn she's sexy. Not that it matters. There will never be more between us. One of us will end up killing the other first.

Kat
After a long shift in the cancer ward at the children's hospital, I just want to let loose. My friend set me up on a date, and I gladly took it to let off some steam. I've got a fun outfit and I'm ready to let loose. But my one night of fun was spoiled the minute he walked through that door. I was just looking for a good time, and I got him instead. He's good-looking, but that's about all that he has going for him. He's not at all my type, and now he seems to think that I'm some loose whore. It was one night! But I'm stuck with him, so I have to find a way to make this work. If I don't figure out a way to make the man loosen up, I'll go insane.

Collateral Damage

Robert
I fell in love with her in high school and I knew then that she would be mine.
But life interfered. She moved halfway across the country and I went to college.
I knew she moved back home. I knew that her mother had died.
But I did nothing.
I was ashamed. I had walked away from her, thinking it was best for both of us. Now, thirteen years later, I can't leave her alone anymore. I need her, but convincing her that we can still be together is going to be difficult. I hurt her bad when I left, but that's just the beginning of our problems.

Anna
I fell in love with him under the stars. He was my savior when everything in my life was crumbling. But then he was gone and I was all alone again.
Thirteen years later, he's back and he wants me. But I'm too angry. The only reason I'm even speaking to him is he helped me get a job...with his brother. Now I've been caught up in some kind of game he and Eric have going, and I'm stuck with him.
I hate him. But I still love him.
It would be so easy to fall back in love with the man he is now. Deep down, he's the same person, just dressed fancier. But that's the crux of our problem. We're different people than we were in high school.

Wanted Dead Or In Love

Josh
I was just driving down the road one day when I saw her. That was when everything went to shit. Bullets were flying, I was killing guys with a toilet lid. It was insane. And the whole time, I had a scared, timid woman as an accomplice.
Or was she?
She knew exactly what she was doing. She knew exactly what to say. It seemed that I was the only one left in the dark about what was really going on. And I was about to pay for it, with my life.

Hannah
I'd seen that look before, that watchful gaze that sent shivers down my spine. I thought he was there to kill me, but then he got wrapped up in everything with me, and then I couldn't shake him. I couldn't tell him who I was. I could never let him go back to his life. He had to run with me or his whole family would be murdered. But you know what they say about secrets, they always come out eventually. And when he finds out mine, he's gonna be pissed.

The Cortell Brothers - Boxset One - Books 1 - 3 - By - Giulia Lagomarsino

The Cortell Brothers Series- Book 1 - Maintenance Required - By Giulia Lagomarsino

This is the first book in the Cortell Brothers Series and is a spin off from the Reed Security Series by this same author. We first met this group of wild and unruly brothers when they came to visit their brother Derek "Irish" Cortell who is a part owner and team leader at Reed Security, when he met his woman Claire who is an absolute legend by the way. I do recommend the Reed Security Series but it is not essential to have read it before this series. So this story focuses on Eric Cortell who runs his own construction business and is the oldest of seven brothers. He is very straight laced and doesn't really get wild like his brothers do however that is about to change. When Eric goes on a blind date he meets Kat his supposed date and they have instant chemistry and are so hot together but have nothing really in common. They decide to have shots and one thing leads to another, something in all of his thirty six years Eric has never done. Katherine / Kiki / Kat Beck is a nurse on the children's cancer ward and loves her job but it is definitely difficult to do. At thirty one she is looking for fun and to see where her date can go, the instant she sees Eric she can see he is quite up tight and not what she normally goes for however she is just what he needs. She brings out a sense of adventure in Eric, she helps push him out of his comfort zone and it is both great to read but hilarious also. They have several miscommunications as they start their relationship which leads to all kinds of awkward situations but they are perfect for each other once they see past all of this. They show that no matter what life throws at you, highs and lows, happiness to heartbreak, together you can come through it all. I adored the banter between the brothers and their camaraderie they really are hilarious at times. We know Eric is the oldest, but also see Derek again who works at Reed Security, their brother Robert is a lawyer in Chicago, Will is a history teacher a few towns over, Josh disappeared one day several years ago no one has heard from him since sadly, I am so intrigued as to what happened with him, Joe is secretive about what he does fir work but he is a lovable character and the youngest brother Andrew is amazing with computers but hated school. The way Joe and Andrew continue to "millennial speak" drives the other brothers crazy as they dont understand any of it is laugh out loud funny but overall you see that these brothers love each other deeply and have each others back no matter what which was beautiful to read. The town Facebook page of gossip and scandal is hilarious and I would totally subscribe to see what else is going on. Decker the Tattooist is a cool character I hope we see more of him and the Cortell Parents Elizabeth and Matthew are amazing. This story overall was amazing but highly emotional. One minute I was howling with laughter then after tragedy strikes I was sobbing my heart out at the devastating heartbreak endured by the main characters. The roller coaster of emotions was real and brutal to read but added to the story, the characters and made this story a league of its own. I highly recommend this book but also note it is an emotional read. This author has once again proven her writing skill and talent is outstanding in every way imaginable. I cannot wait to read Anna and Robert's story and see more of these lovable brothers. You must read this one. Happy Reading.

The Cortell Brothers Series- Book 2 - Collateral Damage - By Giulia Lagomarsino

This is the second book in the Cortell Brothers Series and this story features around the brother Robert who is a highly successful divorce lawyer and Anna Richards who we also met in the first book when she was hired as the office manager for Eric's construction business. These two souls were childhood sweethearts, inseparable and completely, wholeheartedly in love, with so many hopes and dreams. However when they turned seventeen everything suddenly changed. Robert went off to college and became a lawyer and Anna was left behind to deal with her life that had fallen apart. Thirteen years later they reconnect still both desperately in love with each other but they are completely different now. Anna has trust issues about Robert leaving her again and about his lifestyle as he moves in high powered circles completely different to her small town lifestyle. Anna is also different within herself, she is mentally so much stronger than she was as a teenager and refuses to be walked over and have decisions made for her, she has control of her own life now. Robert thinks they can pick up where they left off not realising how different they have become over their time apart, thinking his money and achievements will help impress Anna but she is not interested in those qualities in him, she just wants him not what he can give her. They have a lot of baggage to unpack and differences to overcome but a Cortell brother never backs away from what or who he wants and Anna is definitely who Robert wants for the rest of his days. This second chance romance story was emotional but also packed with drama and humour and all balanced to perfection, twists and turns along the way with a few surprises at the end. All of these attributes are pulled together seamlessly, a skill that this author has in abundance to give us another fantastic read. Carter Roy was just the wake up call Robert needed and gave additional drama and fun to the story. It is so funny that Eric, the boss, has to ply Anna with coffee and donuts for fear she will turn feral on him or throw something at him. It was great to see Derek and Hunter come to visit with Claire and Lucy. Bringing along the usual but fantastic Reed Security chaos as they try to help Robert win over his woman. The town Facebook page is still going strong and keeping everyone up to date with the latest Cortell Brother's adventures. No sign of the parents which surprised me but the singing on the float was a complete chefs kiss moment for me and just added to the wonder that is the Cortell Brothers. This author truly has a gift and is one of my favourites without question. I cannot wait to see what happens next and to see more of Robert and Anna in the future. Happy Reading.

The Cortell Brothers Series- Book 3 - Wanted: Dead Or In Love - By Giulia Lagomarsino

This is the third book in the amazing Cortell Brothers Series and this story features around Josh Cortell who we haven't met in the previous books as he had disappeared several years ago without a trace. We now learn the reason for his disappearance and what has happened to him over the last few years. Josh is a mechanic and loves working on cars, he is as charming as the other brothers and a down to earth guy. Going about his day as usual he sees a lady I the gas station and thinks she is hot, he sees her again on the side of the road with a flat tyre and being the gentleman he is he offers to help her. This is where his life irrevocably changes. He has bullets flying at him, a car nearly crushing him as it falls and some serious bad guys now after him and threatening his own and his family's very existence as these bad guys say no witnesses can be left behind. It breaks his heart to leave his family but to keep them and himself and this beautiful woman Hannah / Carlotta / Carly Scavuzzo safe he will go on the run and give up everything and everyone he knows. What he doesn't realise is how hard life being on the run is, he has to learn so much, train and learn to protect himself. He only has Carly to rely on and at first it is difficult for them both but they find a rhythm and he soon learns exactly the danger he is in and who they are running from. Carly is the daughter of Giovanni Scavuzzo the crime boss of the Scavuzzo family and she has been running from her place in that life the last four years. She is safer on her own, no attachments. However when Josh tries to help her she has to figure out if she can trust and once she learns he is a good guy they team up as he wouldn't survive on his own without her. Over time their relationship becomes so much more. They only have each other and their connection is undeniable and with that closeness an intimacy begins that draws them even closer. They are all that each other have and when their circumstances change once again they know they can't keep running. They need help and go to the only people they can trust. Family. The bond between the Cortell Brothers is everything and even though they thought he was missing presumed dead these brothers soon prove to Josh and Carly that they are not alone anymore and never have been. Derek is called in to help to keep them safe and comes with members of the Reed Security family and arrives with Knight and Hunter amongst others which is everything. Together they have to come up with a plan to protect the family and allow Carly and Josh to have a normal life but things are never that straight forward with these guys. This story was brilliant so much action and adventure as Carly and Josh begin to work together to stay safe and they have smoking hot chemistry by the way. This story kept you gripped and constantly turning the pages to see what would happen next. There were twists and turns along the way plus the camaraderie that these brothers share even when they have been separated for a time. The town bakery is thriving thanks to the Cortells as is the town Facebook page which all adds to the Cortell Brothers shenanigans. This story has so many highs and lows the emotions are constantly changing as you go on this wild ride with Josh and Carly. Their characters changed as they changed, they developed as the story progressed and as they made certain decisions but throughout it all they found each other. This was a really great story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The ending did frustrate me with its abruptness which I find this author does do but the cliffhanger regarding Jack and Josh well my nerves are shot and I am heading straight into the next book as I NEED closure immediately and also to see which brother will he knocked for six by his woman next! Happy Reading.

Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.

This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.

The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.

You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.

Brothers you love and can’t forget

Giulia Lagomarsino has outdone herself with this series on The Cortell Brothers. I didn’t think that anything could top her series The Reed Security but this one has. I have not laughed and cried as much as I have with Eric, Robert and Josh and the women that captured their hearts. I love how Joe and Andrew involved their small hometown in the antics of the lovers and were constantly posting on the hometown Facebook page. I hated when Eric and Kat lost Angel. I was devastated and I could feel Anna and Robert’s pain from the loss of their son to adoption. I was happy that both couples were able to overcome those tragedies and find their way back to each other. I sympathized with Josh and Carly when they thought they were going to have to leave Alyssa as they continue to be on the run from Carly’s mob family. I loved how Derek was brought back into the storyline just when his family needed him. I can’t wait to meet the other three brothers Will, Andrew and Joe and see how Giulia brings their characters to life. The only thing that I really hated about the book was the friendship that was possibly destroyed between Josh and Jack.

Cornell brothers boxset 1 books 1 to3

Overall I love the series. We get to see not on k y the antics and angst between the brothers , their girlfriends and the town facebbok group the most hilarious is Mrs. C thirst trap fb page centered on Eric.
Book 1. Eric and Kat. Ended in an. HeA and seque into Book 2 Robert and Anna get their HEA at the end of this we see the family celebrate New Years eve together and joah whom has been missing for 7 years shows up.
Book 3 Joshua and Carly. I like to believe that Josh and Carly did get their HEA but it as left me confused due to the accident at the end with Natalie everyone has made josh feel that it would be better if he had never came back.
I am hoping that in the next books we see that Josh and Carly are still in town with the rest of the family and not pushed out and made to leave. Like it seems in the last page

All three of these stories are wonderful. The romances are about the eldest Eric and Kat. Then there is Robert and Anna and Lastly, is Josh and Carly. There is drama, suspense, mystery, danger and romance. Each story had laugh out loud moments as well as crying. I can’t wait to read the second box set as well as more books by this author.

Was ummm okay...

The series wasn't too bad. But, I had trouble following some of the stories. Too much "F-bombs". I don't mind too much but it was a bit much. There were repeated scenes with characters talking to others about what happened.. They needed more on their prospective side then repeated the same as others.

I love this family. Even when they are in danger, or going through hard times, they stick together, and I laugh at all the crazy things they do or say, or post on the town Facebook page
