Ironic story...I learned of Heroes of Liberty publishing company and eventually this book, when Facebook locked the publisher's Facebook ads (since then, FB has reversed this and claimed it was done in "error"). So, I researched the publishing company and purchased this book to add to the library collection for Black History Month. As one who is half black, I have my own opinions on Black History Month and how current culture celebrates it, but as long as it is here, we had better celebrate black Americans who actually contribute(d) to our country.

The book is wonderfully illustrated and nicely written for readers approx. 2nd grade+. I recommend for teachers, parents, and librarians wanting to teach children perseverance and responsibility.

I will be pursuing more Heroes of Liberty's books.

Very nice little book with excellent illustrations designed for younger audiences as an introduction to the life of the great Thomas Sowell.
