Away at school in the Victorian Age, Ranald must face his monsters—bullies, reckless behavior, his werewolf blood—so he can stand up to an even bigger monster, his stepfather Dr. Frankenstein.
In a letter from home, my mom told me of her marriage to the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, and those were her last words.
Away at school, I found that monsters are real. Werewolves, vampires, or even worse. Being a shapeshifter is my blood. Am I a boy? Am I a beast? Maybe now I have the power to stand up and find out what happened to my mom (with the help of Uncle Van Helsing, of course).
Thus begins the story of Mr. Rushin, a vampire-werewolf hybrid (a verewolf) and his adventures through time to stop the diabolical plans of Dr. Frankenstein.

An interesting read that is reminiscent of Shelley's Frankenstein and Stoker's Dracula. In fact, Dr, Frankenstein is the main character, Ranald's stepfather. Monsters, myths, and mystery as the tale twists around the legends of old. The author has a great writing style that lets readers feel like they are on the journey and lends a great feel to the atmosphere.
