Kat Drummond #14.5

Werewolves & Wizardry

Rate this book
It takes a werewolf and a wizard to face the apocalypse…

A full-length Katverse novel set after book 14 of the Kat Drummond Series.

It’s almost Christmas, and Pranish Ahuja and Trudie Davison are trying to recover from the destruction of Hope City at the hands of Kat’s mortal enemy. To make matters more complicated, Trudie has become alpha to a pack of previously monstrous and rogue werewolves from another world.

It takes time to domesticate werewolves and trouble abounds on the home front.

But when Pranish discovers a threat to his estranged family, Trudie and her new pack will need to come together and face a new enemy.

That is, if they don’t eat each other alive first.

Werewolves & Wizardry explores the Katverse from the eyes of Kat’s oldest friends as they face their own battles and tribulations in a Hope City constantly on the brink of destruction. This book is set directly after The Last Light, book 14 of the Kat Drummond Series and should be read after that book.

“It takes a werewolf and a wizard to face the apocalypse…”

Has it ever happened to you to read something fast because you want to know how it ended and then feel like you read too fast and wished you hadn’t finished so soon? Well, this series is like that. I’m addicted to it and am already missing Trudy, Pranish, Conrad..not to mention Kat and the rest of the Crusaders.

Woode-Smith does a wonderful job of entwining myth and mystery, magic and intrigue.
One of the best battles between archmages, one of the best performance by Pranish I’ve ever read by far! Elemental, telekinesia, the power of arkanes and runes, powerful spells invoked in Hebrew..a battle of two formidable characters. Pranish, a Titan in his own right. “My spark dwindled and I didn’t care. To feel was human. To love was more so.”

With Trudy as an Alpha she realises how tremendous and overwhelming is to take care of her pack, her own family, a grand responsibility. “You must learn to love them. For they learn through you. Give them purpose. Give them a place to belong. The pack is family.”

Trudy and Pranish are very lovable and yet complex characters, and their story had me gripped from the beginning. There were many an emotional moment. Lol.

This story has it all... suspense, drama, great writing and an addictive storyline that kept me turning the pages.
Werewolves and Wizardry is a gripping action urban fantasy thriller, taking place right after The Last Light #14 of Kat Drummond fabulous series.
If you like stunning twists, flawed heroes and edge-of-the-seat suspense, then you’ll love this unforgettable page-turner by my favourite author Nicholas Woode-Smith.

A captivating read which I highly recommend...
I’m very impatient, waiting to read Shadow Realm #15!!

It would probably help to have read the other Katverse novels and stories, though I do think it would stand on its own. Trudie and Pranish have long deserved their own book, and it might just be better having had to wait for it.
I do enjoy when authors expand on the world's they have created and Werewolves & Wizardry doesnt dissapoint. We get more of everything (except Kat, but she has way more books focusing on her!) from learning more about the world and the characters we have grown to love.
I'm looking forward to more books in the Katverse and hope that Trudie, Pranish and the rest of the pack get a sequel of their own!

Another cracking book from the Katverse storybook. This is different in so much as there is no Kat in this one, but trust me it doesn’t detract from the story not one bit. Another author who I struggle to comprehend how they manage to come up with such great plots. On to the next, hopefully Kats back, but if not there is a plethora of other characters to take the reigns. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book! This after book 13, so Kat is not featured in this book. In this story you really get to know Trudie (and why she hates unicorns and even more so now!) and Pranish. It starts off with background, but once it gets into the action it doesn't stop! It really gives you a new appreciation of these characters!

Absolutely loved reading Pranish and Trudie's story! I loved the exploration of Pranish and his complicated family dynamics.

Trudie has had a hard life complicated even more by being turned into a wearwolf. But in true Trudie fashion she rises back to her feet as an Alpha. But this is hard won and she struggles to unify and tame a group of rouge and vicious misfits into a unified force.

Trudie and Pranish shine in this book and you really get to see the depth of their grit, determination, and heart!

Werewolves and Wizardry is a must read story in the Katverse. You see Trudie fight to meld her wearwolves into a family with purpose. So they can not only defend themselves but those her and Pranish love. The world-building as always is exceptional and if you haven't read the Kat Drummond Series this a tantalizing peak into a fasinating world that will draw you in and take you on a roller coaster of action. The Katverse has amazing characters that will have you hanging onto the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next.

I highly recommend  this story and I can't wait for more!!!!

Werewolves and Wizardry is an excellent companion novel to the Kat Drummond series and give us a chance to get to know Trudie and Pranish better while Kat is out of the picture. We knew something about Pranish and the problems with his parent, but this story gives a much deeper look into his family and how it's been and possibly how it could be. That said, it's largely Trudie we get to know much better and, in particular, her struggles with being an alpha. At the same time, we learn about the new family being built around Trudie and Pranish and how they've literally fought to fit together. This is a fitting addition to the Kat-verse and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Time to learn a little more about Kat's friends. This book isn't filling in the backstory of Trudie and Pranish, per-se. It's more of a side-story, set AFTER the events of "The Last Light" (Kat Drummond book 14), focusing on Trudie and Pranish, as they deal with the complications of being an alpha werewolf and a wizard estranged from a family of sorcerers. Trudie and Pranish have been close friends with Kat for basically her entire life, but they also have lives of their own, and we get to see into those lives in this book.

This is a great addition to the Katverse.

Great exciting story which gives a good insight into Trudie and Pranish’s character, wizardry and on how a pack of werewolves interact.
Love the characters, the humour, the story line. It is well written and a great read and can be read alone but will bring spoilers to other books in the series.

I received a free copy of this book and decided to review it.

This book was great - as usual from this author. Her pack has new members, but they haven't really formed the family that the pack needs to be. She does eventually work it out. Pranish finds that someone is after his family. He is estranged from them, but he still doesn't want any harm to come to them. He has to go to war with another wizard.

The story of the Cataclysm continues, and we get to expand a few other characters this time!
While Kat isn't present in this one, it doesn't mean there is less action. To the contrary, keeping track of everything will keep you on your toes. This is another excellent addition to the whole series, and I wouldn0t miss it one bit!

The perfect sidetrack from Kat that we didn't know we needed until we got it. Absolutely enjoyed reading Pranish and Trudie's story and themselves evolve further and more elaborately. Can't wait to read the next book Nicholas releases for the series!

Kates friends find themselves pulled into different directions after what had happened in the city. One has to get her new pack under control and the other hs danger to his family. Can they get things under control and work together? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

With Kat away, exiled from Hope City her best friends Trudie and Pranish are on their own. Well sort of. They have their fledgling pack.
In their first solo novel, Trudie and Pranish get to shine on their own.
