Elliot Smith has trained hard to live alone and work alone, even when it comes to her job as a security specialist for JCL Security. No relationships, no ties, except the one to the man who kidnapped and murdered her mother. She’ll do anything to kill Martin Diako, the untouchable South African pirate king. When Deacon Walsh walks into her office, she finally sees a chance to do just that.

Deacon went from soldier to mercenary warrior to stay-at-home dad, and now his past is back to haunt him. Martin Diako, the father of the terrorist Deacon killed two years ago, is coming for revenge, and he has his sight set on Deacon’s daughter. An heir for an heir. Deacon will do anything to protect her, even if it means asking for help. But the security team he’s hired comes with an added complication: the only woman to interest him since his wife died.

Deacon always leads his team, and Elliot protects hers. They might have one chance at their enemy—if they can work together. Will their hunger for each other pull them together, or push them apart?

*ALC received from Audibly Addicted in exchange for my honest review. *

Deceive Me book two in the Southern Nights: Enigma Series from Ella Sheridan was nothing short of delicious!! It had everything I love in a good romance from bad guys who can't get over their ego trips, the alpha man who is frustratingly perfect and the badass woman he falls for. This story had the bonus of Sydney!! That little girl won my heart from her first moment on the page.

Elliot will go down as one of my favorite heroines! She was strong, annoyingly so at times but she was also impossibly tender when it came to the people she loved. She didn't love easy that is for sure but when she does, she will protect those she loves with her last breath. Taking down the man who murdered your mother would terrify most people, but Elliot never wavered. Even when what she knew she was doing could hurt those people in her life she still went with her instincts to protect them.

Stella Hunter narrated Elliot perfectly. Since Elliot was such a strong character giving her emotion needed to be very well placed and Stella did that. Even when Stella did one of the male characters voices, I was invested completely which is hard for me with a female narrator.

Deacon won my freaking heart!! The moment he stepped into that office and made the mistake of underestimating Elliot I knew that this guy would either have to work for my love or realize his mistake. I'll let you figure out which one he had to do. His only goal through this whole book was to protect his daughter and he did that with every fiber in his being. When he made a mistake about some very misplaced information, he warred with himself about believing the information. Deacon has never been stupid, and he doesn't want to believe that he was conned and watching him struggle with those realizations only made him seem more real.

Jason Clarke, gah!! He really is the master of accents that man. His growly overbearing voice as Deacon was everything delicious but what really sets him apart is the way he does each voice. Not once did I have to think who was talking because his distinctions were clear. Then his South African accent was just phenomenal!! This was my first audio with a person with a South African accent and let’s just say if he has any others, I am going to do a deep dive to find them.

OK, this review is long enough but damn can I just say I love Elliot & Deacon. Their story was not a easy one, the road was bumpy for a good while but once the dust settled their story had the best kind of ending. Five Stars for all things Deacon, Sydney & Elliot!!

NOTE: This review is for the first three books of Ella Sheridan's Southern Nights: Enigma series - all three books will list this same review.

Ella Sheridan’s Southern Nights: Enigma series will take you on a roller coaster ride of suspense, action, and romance that will pull you in and keep you turning the pages.

The first three books are already out: Come for Me, Deceive Me, and Deny Me. They tell the stories of the Enigma Team of JCL Securities, a team of security experts.

We are introduced to the team in Come for me, about Dain and Olivia. This was actually a short story and could have used some more introduction to the team and the characters. As it is, we are dropped into the middle of a hostage situation, with Olivia being taken captive on the same day she learns she is pregnant. Can Dain free her without stepping on the toes of the authorities?

Deceive Me is longer and much more satisfying. Elliott Smith is a lone wolf, who has found a home she never expected with the team. But her social skills are limited, as shown by her putting their client flat on his back. Deacon is a security expert on his own, but most of his team has been decimated by an African pirate king, Diako, in revenge for their shooting Diako’s son during a raid on his human trafficking operation. Deacon is terrified for his four-year-old daughter, Sidney, and hires JCL to protect her. Elliott and Sydney take to each other immediately, and Deacon is drawn to the tiny but fierce warrior. Elliott is fascinated by Deacon as well, but she’s hiding a major secret. Can Deacon forgive her deception?

Trust is again featured in Destroy Me. Deacon’s surviving teammate, Fionn is obsessed with finding Lys Sheridan, the computer nerd who planted a bomb at their compound. Even though no one was injured in the resulting explosion, the betrayal bites deep. Lys, who was blackmailed into planting the bomb, has been in love with Fionn for years and plans to stay hidden. That changes when she discovers a threat to Fionn’s mother. Can Fionn overcome his distrust for his former teammate to protect his mother and keep Lys by his side?

All of the books feature strong, intelligent women, and capable, experienced alpha males who keep being surprised by the women in their lives. The final book in the series, Deny Me, just recently came out and is a fitting addition. A highly recommended series.

(audiobook) I love a good romantic suspense with a team of ex-military men, and this one was great. A bit gruesome, with bad guys truly detestable, but that’s how you make the good guys shine brighter.

Deacon appears as a family man–though his wife has died–caring deeply for his daughter and ready to do anything to protect her from an obvious threat. Including hiring a security team with skilled members, and Elliott, who’s supposed to become his daughter’s nanny. But Elliott has a secret. Her relationship with Deacon is anything but quiet and sweet. More like fire and violence.

Several times, Deacon was refered to as an alpha male. Sure, he’s the big military type, but he’s also a caring father, a devoted husband and, later, an attentive lover. Pairing him with Elliott who has more or less suppressed her feminine side, a true warrior, was explosive. They both hide their soft belly, until they reveal it to each other. I really liked this couple. And they were sexy too.

The plot was well written and the story fast paced, with regular tensed moments to keep you on your toes. The chapters about the villains of the story were sometimes a bit too much, but they were effective–it was impossible to even like them. I wasn’t a fan of the unexplained African magic, felt a bit like a phlebotinum so the author didn’t have to find a plausible explanation for some elements of the book.

Both narrators, very talented, did an excellent job. But I felt the choice of duet narration was unnecessary here. The book being written in 3rd person, there was no need for that type of narration. The only advantage was for when there were more than two people discussing, so the various voices are less confusing. But since there were mostly male characters, the point was moot in my opinion. But the narrators still were able to convey the tension and the emotions of the story. A good listen.

Quickie

- Series: Southern nights: Enigma #2 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #romantic suspense #military romance #nanny #badass woman
- Triggers: human trafficking, sexual abuse, death, violence
- Main couple: Elliott Smith & Deacon Walsh
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + a true badass female character
- – duet narration wasn’t the best for a 3rd person point of view

Edge of the Seat ACTION-PACKED and also heart touching ride ahead. 😍

This one is about Elliot who we first meet in Come for me, as the only female in Dain's led team working for JCL security. She might be a woman but definitely can't be underestimated in how quickly she can throw down a strong man in a fight.

Now there's a new assignment to provide security for Deacon and his daughter. For that Elliot has to take on the role of a nanny as she's the only female so has a better chance of getting closer to the little girl but can also protect Sydney, deacon's daughter fiercely.

Deacon had helped rescue the senator and his family in a mission and killed the Villain responsible. But now his past had come back to haunt him as he had killed nine other than Martin Diako's son. Diako was the most feared and untouchable pirate King and now he wanted revenge on deacon.

On one hand we get to see all these strong men all providing round the clock security, patiently waiting, always on the alert and also researching for clues as to how to nab their enemy.

Elliot is not used to be open with her emotions but she feels this bond with this sweet girl, Sydney and I adored their times together. But what nor Deacon or Elliot anticipated was catching feelings while battling their attraction for each other.

I'm loving this series, full of action and Mayhem and drama and yet having the perfect balance of sweet feels and emotions enough to make me go sigh!

And with that twist towards the end regarding Sheppard and fionn, I'm oh so excited to dive into their book next. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Audiobook review: I'll start off saying that 5 stars just isn't enough. Between the writing and amazing story, then adding in the outstanding narration (in duet style) with Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, this story truly checks all the boxes.

I absolutely loved Elliot. She was a total bada** and I want to be her friend. I always love a strong and capable woman. But Elliot was so much more. She was strong in every sense of the word and she didn't need anyone to "take care of" her. She could take care of herself as well as most of the men she was around.

Deacon was a wonderful father for his daughter Sydney. His wife passed almost two years prior and he has been trying to navigate life as a single dad who also wants to do his job to the best of his ability. But when a past job comes back to haunt him, his daughter's safety has to be top priority. He hires the company Elliot works for to help protect him, his daughter and even his team as they are targets as well. He never expects Elliot to not only be the woman protecting his precious daughter but also bring his heart back to life.

Deacon and Elliot were so hot together and I loved that they didn't fight their attraction long. They were also able to protect one another as well as Sydney (who was the cutest little girl). I loved all the secondary characters as well and look forward to reading more of their stories.

As I said earlier, the narration was beyond amazing. I seriously love both of these narrators. Jason just seamlessly moves from one character to another so perfectly that you would think there was more than one man narrating, this was even better when there were accents thrown in. He is such a talented narrator and he is at the top of my favorite list. Stella Hunter has also moved to the top of my favorite female narrator list. I just love her voice and look forward to more of her work.

****NOW available in Audio - Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter - Listen now******

I am going to start with saying I loved this book. Ella Sheridan never lets me down when I want a fantastic, hot, suspense read and she absolutely did it again with this book.

Deceive Me had me hooked from the first page when Elliott puts Decan on his arse and kept me enthralled to the last page that I turned with a big fat grin. It had the perfect mix of romance, drama and two wonderful main characters that you will love. I must admit I love all the characters in this series.

Elliott and Deacon are perfect for each other. You have the hot alpha dad (former solider/mercenary warrior) who is trying to protect his daughter from a South African pirate, who will stop at nothing and the fighter Elliott who while hiding her past has found some happiness in her job but is always looking to take down the men who killed her mother.

I know I’ve already said I loved this book and I really did. From Elliott and Deacon, to Elliott’s team mates and Deacon’s best friends I loved every character. Ella Sheridan has given me another book to fall in love with and I have that’s for sure. Dive in and enjoy Elliott and Deacon as much as I did. You won’t be sorry.

Deceive Me is book 5 in the Southern Nights series. This is a stand-alone novella, but to enhance your reading enjoyment, I would read the others first.

Deceive Me
Southern Nights series book #4
Release Date: March 14, 2017
Review copy provided by the publisher

I stumbled upon Ella Sheridan when I saw a post on Facebook about her first book in the Southern Nights series. Im always cautious trying new to me authors. I'm pretty specific in what I like when it comes to romance. From that very first book I read, I have been hooked! I'm so happy that I gave her books a try!

I've always thought Ms. Sheridan was a talented writer. She writes characters that draw me in and they make me care about them. I always want more when the book is finished. Not because the story isn't solid or complete, it's because I fall hard for the hero and heroine. I want to stay in their world a little longer. I fully anticipated enjoying this latest addition to a fantastic series. But I wasn't prepared to be so overwhelmed with emotion and heart racing excitement. Deceive Me is something special.

The writing, as always, is phenomenal. The scenes are detailed, but not so much that I find myself skimming and wishing the author would just get on with it. The characters feel real. I always get a good sense of what Ella's characters are feeling, even when they're not saying anything. Maybe it's the way she so easily describes their body language or facial expressions.

Elliot is a kick ass heroine! The scene where she firsts meets Deacon Walsh had me laughing out loud! She puts him in his place so completely that he's left in utter shock! It was amazing! There's a lot going on in her head and heart that help to soften her up a bit. But what you see on the outside is a woman determined to obliterate the man that haunts her nightmares.

Deacon has spent almost two years picking up the pieces of his life after the death of his wife. I really liked being able to see all his vulnerability under his warrior exterior. He's all alpha male, but I got a really good sense of his struggles to keep it all together and protect his daughter from an enemy.

There's a ton of chemistry between these two. Right from the get go...even when Elliot puts Deacon on his ass. That just made him want her more. There's so much sexual tension in this book. Every time I thought we'd get to the hot sweaty sexy times, they'd pull back! I was all like...No!! Just have naked times already! But they needed to have the slow burn. And when they finally did get to the sheet yoga...sweet baby Jesus! It was so damn good!

There are secrets between Elliot and Deacon. They could very well destroy any chance they have to be together. Elliot doesn't trust easy, and ripping open the wounds on her heart to let Deacon in is utterly agonizing. She's been hired to help him protect his daughter. He needs to have full faith and trust in her to always tell him everything. When all of this comes to a head it left me breathless. The emotion in this book is like nothing Ella has written before, at least in my opinion. I snot and bawled like a toddler. My heart hurt for Elliot. The way she punishes herself after Deacon finds out her secret is soul shredding.

There's so much that makes this book great. There's action, romance, lumpy throat emotion, sexy times, and laughs. The camaraderie between the team mates makes this series feel like a family saga. And they are family, not by blood, but by choice and circumstance. Elliot has a band of over protective brothers in her team mates. They are all up in her business. They don't try and smother her independence or strength, they just have her back...always.

I wish I could tell you all the specific things that I adored about this book, but then I'd be robbing you of the experience to see for yourself. I truly think that, Deceive Me is Ella Sheridan's best book yet! I was gobsmacked by how much I loved it. I know I shouldn't be surprised since I've loved everything else she's put out. But she really outdid herself with this one!

This review is for the audiobook. Deceive Me is an exciting heartbreaking thriller from beginning to end. I was hooked immediately by the characters and their life experiences that would bring most people to their knees. Deacon is a highly trained mercenary who has seen his share of action. Now he will do anything to protect his daughter when his past comes back to haunt him and she becomes a target. Elliott is on the protection/security team and you definitely don’t want to underestimate her because she is tiny. She is a bad-ass warrior with plenty of snark who has proven her worth and earned her spot on the elite security team at JCL, hired to protect Sidney. From the moment they meet the attraction is palpable and sparks fly in the midst of mystery and suspense, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Working together they have a chance to defeat this ultimate enemy who is a threat to them both. This story is exciting with plenty of steam and romance in the midst of the chaos. Ella Sheridan has done a great job establishing the different characters and I can’t wait for more books in the series to get the stories behind them!

Jason Clarke & Stella Hunter in duet check all of my boxes. They work so well together, and I always know an audiobook will be high quality with duet done right. They deliver all of the urgency, tension, tenderness, and steamy goodness necessary in a story like this to transition between characters of varying ages with a lot of emotion and suspense in their performances. Absolute perfection!

This was my first Ella Sheridan audiobook and it was an entertaining ride! I enjoyed every minute of it. It was a fast paced action packed, steamy, suspense romance. Elliot was both fragile, but tough. She was also sassy with a tough exterior and a hidden heart of gold. Sydney, Deacon’s daughter, made my heart melt. She was so cute and I loved how she connected with Elliot right away. I think the best part was when Elliot kicked Deacon’s butt in their first meeting. The chemistry between Elliot and Deacon was intense. The attraction is instant, but they both try to deny it as much as they can. Once they come together it is so steamy!

This book was done in 3rd person duet narration with phenomenal storytellers, Stella Hunter & Jason Clarke. These two have become favorite narrators I love listening to. Stella was wonderful portraying both Elliot and Sydney. She captured Elliot’s resilience and Sydney’s kid charm flawlessly. Jason is an incredible narrator! He had more male characters to portray and did an incredible job changing his voice to fit each accent and character. I will say his Irish and South African accents were impressive. The duet narration made this story a more entertaining and lively listen. This story is a bit dark, full of lots of twists and turns, sweet moments, and steamy scenes that will keep captivated until the very end.

I love romantic suspense and this story was a perfect combination with a WOW factor of a secret.
Elliot Smith is a security specialist for JCL Security and she takes her job very seriously. Do not question her abilities or she will put you on your backside as she does to Deacon Walsh when they first meet.
Deacon needs help protecting his daughter. After most of his team is killed by Martin Diako, the untouchable South African pirate king, but looking at the little woman before him he doesn't think she can take care of herself. But when he lands on his back, he knows she can take care of herself, but can she care for his daughter.
As the team sets things up at Deacon's house, Elliot is keeping a huge secret that she needs to tell him before he finds out other ways. It is not something she needs to keep from him. But the chemistry between Elliot and Deacon is growing each time they are close and they can not deny it.
This story was so good that I didn't want to stop listening, I needed to know how it would end. Did they get the murderer? Was anyone else hurt or killed? Will Elliot and Deacon be together after he learns her secret?
I love this author's writing style and look forward to reading more of this series. And I loved the dual narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, they were the perfect Elliot and Deacon.

Deceive Me. Southern Nights, Enimga 2 by Ella Sheridan
Narrated by Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke.

I could listen to this one over and over. It was a fast paced suspenseful romantic thriller that had realistic situations and characters that came to life. I need more of this series from Ella. There were twists and turns that helped develop the characters and there was smouldering sexual attraction that glued Elliott and Deacon together.

Stella Hunter showed me the strength and resolve in Elliott with her stubborn ferocity to get her revenge and protect her family, even though that family might turn against her when her secret about her past is revealed. Her performance as Sydney was realistic and innocently perfect as a precocious little girl who believes that her daddy will always protect her.

Jason Clarke so enhanced this audiobook version by showing each male character to perfection. With accents as the murderous despicable Martin Diako, as the fun loving Irish Finn, and as Deacon; the man who is desperately trying to protect his daughter, and the one that is falling for the one woman who is hired to protect her.

Dual narration really steps up an audiobook and this was done by two professionals that really enhanced this audiobook so much.

Elliot is a woman who guards her secrets closely as the results could be dire so she only allows others so close and that includes her teammates at JCL Security. She is determined to avenge the life and death that her mother endured and bring down the man responsible and isn’t about to let anyone or anything stand in her way.

After the tragic passing of his wife Deacon changed his life so that he could be there for his daughter Sydney however with his teammates being attacked one by one and his daughter in danger he contacts JCL for support. Elliot was a complication he wasn’t expecting as not only are they battling the chemistry between them but the man who connects them in a way he never expected.

Both Elliot and Deacon are strong, fierce and would do anything for those they care about which sometimes puts them on opposite sides especially when they both have feelings for each other they never expected as they take us on a suspenseful and romantic journey. I listened to an audio copy of this story which enhanced the emotion, intrigue and chemistry of the characters and the story.

Wow! Amazing, multi-layered action romance!

Elliot has trained her whole life for one mission. When Elliot is assigned to protect Deacon's daughter, she's got to keep her connection to the man threatening Deacon secret in order to protect those she cares about. Unfortunately, Deacon sees any deception as a betrayal.

This story just sucked me in right from the start. Elliot is a strong but sympathetic character, a woman of many surprises who survived a truly horrific childhood. Deacon is an alpha leader, a man who lives by the rules that keep his team safe. He falls hard for Elliot, but doesn't know what to make of the news when he finds out the truth she's been hiding. These characters are vividly drawn, compelling in their honest emotional connection and ultimately triumphant in their war against their common enemy.

Everything I've read by this author is stunningly captivating, and this book is one of her best. It was a non-stop read for me and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

***Audio Review***
Deceive Me by Ella Sheridan was a wild, intense, romantic suspense story that completely captivated me. From start to finish, I was hooked with every twist and turn of Elliot and Deacon’s suspenseful, steamy, and dangerous love story.

This audiobook is performed in duet narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. Jason Clarke shows his versatility and talent with his Irish and British accents. He also performs Deacon’s single dad protective personality with his signature growl which ultimately makes him hard to resist. Stella Hunter is spot on in her performance of Elliot’s strong, determined, kick-ass personality. I loved that Ella created such brave, loyal, and daring characters!

Overall I enjoyed this book! In this story you get the danger, a strong female heroine, a hot single dad, action, danger, suspense, steam, and a satisfying HEA. I love this world that Ella has created with the whole JCL security crew! I am looking forward to more from Ella Sheridan!

I really enjoyed Deceive Me, and now I want to go back and catch up on Ella Sheridan's other audiobooks.

Elliot (FMC) and Deacon (MMC) were not an obvious match, but they were a perfect match, to be honest. Elliot has a lot of history that she's hiding, and her history comes back to haunt her as she is protecting Deacon and his daughter.

Deacon is no stranger to dangerous situations, but he his primary focus has shifted, and he do anything to protect his young daughter. He trusts Elliot to keep them safe, and he gives her his heart, but is he really wise to do so?

The plot moves very quickly, and there are definitely some more graphic violent scenes given the nature of the material. All in all, well written and interesting.

From a narration standpoint, you cannot go wrong with with Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. These are two voice actors of tremendous talent that always deliver. I was particularly impressed with Stella's ability to transition from playing a child to an adult when the dialog changed. She was adorable.

Fast-paced action story about Elliott Smith, also known as Little Otter, and Deacon Walsh, a widowed father. This is the second book in this series about JCL Security operatives. Deacon was a member of the now-dwindling Global Security Team. A highly trained operative himself, Deacon will not take any chances with his four year old daughter's life. This book is full of thrills and action, misunderstandings, forgiveness and redemption. Elliott is an amazing character, strong, smart, and committed to righting the wrongs in her past. The attraction between Elliott and Deacon is palpable despite how rocky their relationship might be. A really great story with lots of memorable characters. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I am voluntarily leaving my opinion of a review copy of this book.

Deceive Me is the second book in the Southern Nights: Enigma series and follows Elliot's and Deacon's story.

Deacon has hired Elliot's team at JCL as extra security after he learns that the head if a notorious criminal organisation is after him and his 4 year old daughter after he took out his son in a previous operation with his team. However, he wasn't expecting the reaction he has to the woman the team has assigned to guard his daughter.

Elliot is more than capable of guarding Deacon's daughter and keeping her safe, but she's hiding a huge secret from him that could change everything.

I really enjoyed this book. Its fast paced with plenty of action and the suspense kept me hooked and wanting to know what would come next.

And I loved the chemistry and tension between Elliot and Deacon. It was so intense and led to some amazing spicy scenes.

What an awesome book! this was the first book i've read in Ella's Southern Nights series and i wasnt disappointed. What begins as your typical romantic suspense lures the reader into something more -- the understanding of the pain and loss of a parent combined with some the wit and humor of a 4 year old. Elliot and Deacon's chemistry is undeniable - but the chemistry combined with the love of the 4 year old makes it real. Trust me, there's NO damnsel in distress in Ella's books! this is one of the main reasons why i've always enjoyed her books!

Great job Ella! and now, i'm onto reading the other books in the series!!

Elliot Smith is a goal oriented operative that works for a security firm. Elliot is wanting to use her skills to get the guy who killed her mother - Martin Diako.
Deacon Walsh was on a mission to rescue twin girls from South African pirates and killed Diako’s son. Diako now wants revenge and has followed Deacon back to the America. Diako wants to get Deacon's daughter Sydney - an eye for an eye. Deacon now needs to find someone to protect his daughter which is how Elliot comes into the picture. Elliot begins to soften toward Sydney and in turn toward Deacon. Can these two stay alive long enough to take things further? Good suspense and action throughout this book.

Deacon an ex-military man hires a security company to help protect his daughter and meets Elliot and there is instant chemistry between the two that both of them can’t fight. I loved Deacon’s protectiveness and Elliot’s strength after everything she has been through. The story was intriguing and grabbed my attention right away. It starts off immediately with the action and I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book. If you love romantic suspense pick up this book but there is violence throughout this book and few of the chapters are told from the villains point of view.
This audio was performed in duet and the performances of Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter were amazing. Stella impresses me more and more with every book and Jason is great with the portraying the characters emotions.

This is the second book in the Southern Nights: Enigma, a spin-off Series to the Southern Nights Series, a Romantic Suspense. Deacon and Elliot's story is breathtakingly well written, and suspenseful! Deacon, a single Dad, is handsome, and very protective. Elliot is a wonderful character, strong, and determined. I loved to see again the characters from the first book. The storyline is intricate and captivating. Impossible to put it down. Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke did an outstanding job with the narration. They are perfect as Elliot and Deacon! I enjoyed it, and I am looking forward to listening to Destroy Me, the next book in the Series. I like Ella Sheridan's writing. She definitely is one of my favorite Romantic Suspense authors. #ALC #RomanticSuspense #AudiblyAddictedProductions

I enjoyed listening to this story. Meeting Elliot, her security team members, and how they interacted with one another was great to follow through the story's scenes. Deacon and Elliot are not prepared for the intense attraction when they meet one another. However, both know they have a much more important mission to accomplish, but will they be able to give in once they discover how a tragic mission from his past and a secret from her past intersect? This story is quick-paced, intense, action-filled, and has a couple of plot twists- one I did not see coming. The are several steamy on-page scenes as well.

Narration is performed in duet by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, and they both did a fantastic job.

I love Elliot!!! She is such a strong person who doesn't take to well when people underestimate her. She's a kickass fighter and a warrior at heart. Watching her slowly open herself up throughout the book was amazing. Her past has caused her to become a broken person and Deacon and his daughter are just the right people to help her. Your heart breaks for Elliot and all she's been through. She's seems so confident yet it is so easy for those she cares about to hurt her. Can Elliot let Deacon into her heart when her heart desires revenge? I love Ella Sheridan's work. This is another book of hers that I loved and would definitely recommend!

Elliott is one bad ass chick and I loved her character!! Deacon is one hot af single dad trying to keep his daughter safe as well as his team.
They have one thing they have in common : take out the the enemy!

I really enjoy military romance with a big dose of suspense. This was an easy read with no real TW which I appreciated. My recent military reads have had some really tough content so I was glad that this book took a lighter approach.

Narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter on this one and I'm not going to lie, I could listen to this man's voice every day! Stella does the sweetest kids voiced in the business!

Just finished an ALC of Deceive Me by Ella Sheridan narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter and as usual Ella blew my mind ! Exciting from the first line, explosive H and h meeting and i couldnt put it down till i listened them both to safety. I love it when hardened alpha warriors go all soft and mushy for their girls. Jason is the perfect Daddy Deacon and Stella sultry voice is quiet sexy kickass feminity personified. They complement each other perfectly. I cant wait to listen to Fionn and Sheppard’s story because that one just writes itself. I just have to be patient !

Anticlimactic ending...

I really, really, really liked this book...hence the 5 star rating...Elliott was prolly my favorite heroine in the series and her kick ass strength was awe inspiring. And then there's Deacon...mmmmmmmmmm...enough said.

The only thing I would have changed was the ending it was just a bit anticlimactic and I really would have like to see Mansa suffer A LOT MORE.

Now my question is...what about Fionn and Sheppard? I'm just sayin...

Elliot and Deacon have amazing chemistry. I love how the author wrote the details of each character with such clarity they became real to me. The suspense and passion are intense and highly volatile. Deacon's daughter provides sweetness to a very dramatic storyline. The additional cast of characters are fully utilized and provide depth and detail to make it a thoroughly entertaining story.
