Ok, so this one was a bit different than all of those before it. Maybe it was because of the change in locations but it felt darker and more serious. It didn't have that fun, easy-going feel the other had. There were some pretty heavy issues in here too. It was still good, but it was way heavier than what you expect in a cozy.

The antagonizer in this one was super easy to spot. I knew who it was almost immediately and there was no guessing. This is probably the biggest reason it lost a star. I like guessing throughout the book and going back and forth on who it is. There was none of that. Never for once doubted who it was. I hope this series gets back on track with the next book.

I love this series so much and I’m sad now I have to wait for book 8 to be written. The cozy vibes of these books really makes you feel all warm inside.

Back with Charli, only we're headed out of Honeysuckle Hollow because there are some things that Dash has to handle back home in Red Ridge. Their bond doesn't do so well when they're apart, which means an automatic trip up to witness exactly how pack life goes for the shifter and his pack. A trip I was both prepared for and not fully prepared for, but loved every minute of while we were on that journey.

Probably Spoilers Ahead.

As a whole, I think this was my favorite book of the series. The story was just a little darker than the past books, coupled with the pack politics that we take a hard dive into. We, and Charli, aren't just getting a peak at the pack politics and life, but are literally thrown to the wolves to learn it.

A death in the Red Ridge shifter pack means Dash has to sniff out the killer and find what happens. But in order to investigate the death with Charli in tow, they also have to play the intended card which doesn't go too well with some of the other pack members. Some, especially after his brothers no so careful handling of the pack, have a grudge against witches as a whole now. So when Dash starts bringing her around and basically saying they'll be mated so it's fine that she's there, it doesn't go over well.

I was a little worried romance wise how this was going to play out considering they were still bonded to. But I'm happy with how the romance portion of the book and storyline settled by the end. I also really loved how the bond played into the story and how they were able to use the bond to their advantage but also how it ended up being a weakness between them for a very dangerous reason as well.

The wrapping up of the bond felt a little too snap my fingers and it's done and you can go on your way now. However, I can live with it because I liked how the book as a whole went. I did really like getting to see her worlds shifters and how they run both on a how they interact together but also on how they interact with the law here.

As a whole this was my favorite book of the series so far. However, I'm curious and excited to see where we go with the note from her cousin at the end of the book, setting up for the newest one that feels like it will be released forever from now =)

Pros:

I loved so much of this story and exploring a place outside of Honeysuckle Hollow. I did guess things ahead of time but I enjoyed seeing how the characters uncovered the truth.

Cons:

The next book isn’t out yet that I can find on audio or in print and I haven’t found any info on when it is coming and I need more!

This was fast-paced and more than furious. Great story. Charli is headed home to deal with another potential threat - this time with her biological family.

Amazon synopsis:
Charli Goodwin’s future seemed to be nothing but smooth sailing…until the last spell she cast changed the course of everything! Now, it’s not only her life but the lives of others she cares deeply for that are tied up in her fate. Not even help from the creepy and mysterious soothsayers, the Weird Sisters, can give her a clue how to get out of the mess she’s in.

Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Charlie is a witch who lives in a small Southern town of supernatural people. The town is protected by a magical barrier that keeps humans out. She comes from a powerful family in the small town and she has a unique ability to find and track things. In this town there are vampires, witches, trolls, fairies, gnomes, pixies, shifters and any other number of supernatural beings and creatures. They even have a baby unicorn. The sheriff is a Sasquatch. Her boyfriend happens to be one of the town warden‘s. Along with his help and her friends and family they live their lives solving mysteries finding things and saveing the town on occasion. Extraordinarily entertaining funny at times and always a great read.

Charlie will go with Dash back to Red Ridge, due to the binding. Charlie will be introduced to the pack life. Charlie and Dash will solve what happened pack mate. Charlie will use her gifts to try to find the ones responsible. There is much more to the death than what they realized. Dash and Charlie are in for some dangerous times.

I really enjoyed reading this book a lot. Loved the dynamic between Charlie and Dash. Loved seeing a different side to Dash and his pack life. I would love for Dash to get his love by introducing a brand new character we haven't met yet. There was so many great moments in this book, I recommend reading this.

Another fantastic read in the Southern Charms Cozy Mysteries by Bella Falls. Dash and Charlie are fighting the effects of their bonding spell. In order for them to not be so ill while they figure out how to break the bond, Charlie has to go with Dash to his hometown to help deal with some shifter business. I love Dash and enjoyed getting to know where he comes from and meeting the other people in his life. I had always hoped that Charlie would give up Mason and pick Dash, but this story solidified for me that they are not a good match and I can't wait to meet who possibly is. The book had a lot of danger, fun and surprises. Can't wait for the next in the series

Thoroughly engrossing!

Bella Falls has done it again! Charli and Dash are still dealing with the fallout from their binding which leads them to Mystic Mountain. The world-building around pack politics, the consequences for the witch allies, and the need for a haven for "broken" paranormals creates the basis for another excellent series from the author. There are deeply tender emotional moments as well as more than enough magic and mayhem to keep the reader thoroughly engaged, and the culmination reunites some of Honeysuckle Hollow in time to receive warning of yet another looming threat for Charli...Trouble really does seem to follow her!!

Not happy

I'm not happy with the seperation of Charli and Dash, I said it before when it first happen. One of the things that usually stop me from watching a program is when main characters leave a show. Same herewith Dash I felt from day one he was perfect for her, he came at a time she needed to be loved and cherished and the author then around and messes with their chemistry. It not fair when you need with soulmate and the are soulmates. Mason is alright but he needed someone like his last wife to find him, not someone who was already taken. I'm really upset and this is the first time I'm not agreeing to a match. I'm crying for their broken bond here!😤😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I have loved every book in this series. They are so entertaining, light, great quirky characters of which there are many. Charli is a hoot and her grandmother even more so. In each the magic flies, and the the "Hiney Hexes" especially. Witches, vampires, weres, fae, even a leprechaun or two and so many more all live in Honeysuckle Hollow. Though this book takes place mostly in Dash's (he's a werewolf) neck of the woods, Red Ridge and up on Misty Mountain.

If you enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries I definitely recommend this series. I would suggest starting at book one, "Moonshine and Magic" but it's not completely necessary.

Huh, took a while

Charli and Dash's binding comes to a head which means Charli has to go to Red Mountain to help Dash settle some unrest in the pack along with a murder. With the help of some friends, they find a way to find closure, address some issues, and come up with some ideas to make things better.

I did like this one as more friends are gained, newer friends play a big part, and we learn that Abigail is alive but more trouble is heading Charli's way.

Preserves and premonitions written by Bella Falls and narrated by Johanna Parker is the perfect finale for her Southern Charm Cozy Mystery Series. Filled to the brim with adventure, danger, intrigue, subterfuge, death, potential murder and pack politics, it contains something for everyone. It does a great job wrapping up the series and giving us a perfect ending. I highly recommend it as well as the entire Southern Charm Cozy Mystery Collection.

This is a must read for all the fans of Dash. It’s also nice to have the story take place in a different setting and to meet some new characters. The mystery itself wasn’t as much of a focus as learning the customs of the wolf pack, which are very different from those in Honeysuckle Hollow. There is also a big announcement from Bella Falls at the end of the book!

An ending doesn't always close a door

Ends and beginnings. It's a good way to sum up the book. What may be the end of one relationship could start several people on new paths. I Love the 3 weirdos and that's all I will say about that plot detail. Read the series in order and read her others books too.

I'm in love with these characters!

For real...I love these characters.
I'm a little sad to see Dash go, but am super excited for a spin off with the witchy sisters.
This was so good! Go with your gut and you will probably be right about the bad guy in this one. I didn't trust him one bit!!

Great job flashing out Dash's story

I have loved this entire series and really enjoyed reading more about Dash's life in his pack and I'm looking forward to the new series that will feature the folks in the Mystic Mountains that were introduced in this book. Charli, as usual, has developed even more new abilities and is able to save the day while working in synch with Dash.

The storytelling just gets better and better

The storytelling and characters get stronger with every book. I enjoy the escape from the the cold reality of the modern world. I enjoy the warmth and friendships of the world the author creates. Romance is present with out all the details adults can sypply on thier own an younger folks don't need to be subjected to. A lovely read.

Shifty shifters

Trying to figure out who can be trusted at the pack meet after a young shifter dies of a drug overdose. There are few friendly faces and a lot of underhanded dealings. Lots of new characters and mayhem brewing for Dash and Charli.

Can two people who are very opposite still be friends?

A great read. This will twist your mind and heart with supernatural intentions. If the two main characters can bring two different people together, than anything is truly possible.
