A few short years after the wild series of events that brought them together, intergalactic misfits, Chuck and Jopp, along with their friend & respected scientist, Bhanakhana, are hired by a quirky Professor to join the search for the origin planet of a long lost alien civilization. It's a mystery that's confounded historians for centuries. Meanwhile, Rohi, a Universal Law Enforcement agent, investigates the peculiar murder of a young industrialist. The two endeavors become entwined as Chuck, Jopp, Bhanakhana, and Rohi find themselves running afoul of a clandestine and ruthless organization. What follows is a fun, fast-paced race across the universe toward an unknown finish line that might not even exist at all.
Loved the characters and the smart and funny dialog between them. The whole book would have gotten a higher rating from me if somebody, anybody, had done some proof-reading. Missing words, wrong words, inconsistent tenses and pronouns... All made an enjoyable story ponderous to read.
I was elated to see that there was a sequel to Space Tripping. Not only did Edwards reel me in with a fantastic plot, paced, yet again, perfectly, he gave me new characters to love, good and bad. The hilarity ensued, and there was development of some of the original characters, which I loved.
While I was really glad to revisit these wonderful characters in this 2nd iteration, I was a bit disappointed as well. The editing in this book wasn't as good and there were quite a few typos, which distracted me quite a bit. Also, Rohi shocked me a little. I'm no prude when it comes to swearing, if I were, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the 1st book, but I will admit to being a bit shocked at how much she swore. Those were enough to make me take away a star.
Overall though I enjoyed this book. If there is a book 3, I'll be all over it. Space Tripping 2 is an engaging read, and if you loved Space Tripping, you need to read this one too.
Have read both books now and I've enjoyed them immensely. The characters are excellent, the humour is great, and I'm looking forward to the next installment (but I do have to echo the "proof-reader" sentiment...there are some obvious errors that should have been caught, though they didn't spoil the book).
Book 2 was as good if not better than the first. I absolutely love the characters and the action is nonstop. The story line is even better this time around. Look over the typos because the story is so good they truly don't matter. Loved it!!!!
This series (2 books so far)is totally “totally rad” as Mola would say. Our protagonists from book 1 are back with an even more absurd, thrilling, incredibly fast moving adventure involving a galaxy wide and oppressive church/cult intent on resurrecting their god , Rohan. The story is gripping, gruesome in parts and totally binge-reading worthy. We meet some familiar characters from the first book and some new friends and a whole host of enemies. To the author I earnestly plead bring on book3!
Loved reading about these characters again! However, this needed some proofreading. Also felt that some descriptions were over wordy and not completely clear which took me out of the story a bit. But still look forward to more from this story line!
