About the author

Derek Griffon is the Student Pastor at the Bayou Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is also an evangelist and speaker who invests in and influences the next generation across the nation. He preachers student Disciple Now Weekends, camps and conferences. Derek is a ferocious reader, reading about 100 books a year to gain wisdom and personally grow. He and his wife Katie love spending time together working out at the gym and snuggling their dog Ellie.

Derek Griffon shines light on lies we've allowed to take up space in our minds and brings the truth in a loving but direct style all his own. He reminds us that no matter where we have come from, what we have done, or what has been done to us, it does not define us (no matter how loud or often we hear it).

Peppered with relatable stories and personal details from Griffon's life experiences as well as relevant experiences of others, Labels is a quick but impactful read that feels more like an encouraging conversation and bear hug - a must read!

It's obvious that Derek Griffon is an awesome youth pastor who understands what they are facing. He puts a refreshing spin on the damage labeling causes with an abundance of scripture to drive his points home. He also discusses labels we put on ourselves...just as damaging.
