This book is not what I wanted. I was hoping to see some concept art or big art prints but several of them dont even take up a full spread there in tinier boxes so there can be commentary. I would only get this if you a big genshin fan. Which I am so I don't regret buying it but I wouldn't reccomend to people who just enjoy art books.
I'm a long time fan and obviously the art is beautiful! Knocked a star off purely because it's not the most in depth art book of all the ones I own but so happy to have this in my collection ✨
If you've seen other official art books out there, then you'll know what I'm talking about here. Unfortunately, there wasn't really any effort put into this from Mihoyo. It's basically a bunch of PNGs of all the illustrated works from the games stuck together into a book. Would have liked to at least some process of how they managed to make these illustrations, or even some commentary from the art team. Generally, the book just feels very disrespectful to all the hard work that went into each image itself.
Les dessins sont magnifiques! J’aurai juste aimé avoir des explications sur l’univers et que les dessins en double page prennent la place sur l’ensemble des deux pages car les bordures beiges sont très larges…
this art book has all the official illustrations of the first phase of Genshin. it pretty much focuses on the Mondstadt and Liyue character art and some event arts (and also it makes sense since the book was published in 2022). i mean, don't get me wrong, i liked it. but i was expecting more concept art of the regions or even the concept creation of a character :/ still worth a read, especially if you want to feel nostalgic about how far the game has come. :)
Such a beautiful book. A lot of things I knew already, but seeing them printed in this size and quality is really fascinating. I just kind of thought there might me concept art and more behind the scenes stuff? If they ever release a book with stuff like this I'll give them 5 stars surely!
This art book is exactly that — an art book of the official illustrations. It is great for collection purposes if you are a fan like me. It is a nice experience having the illustrations in physical form, printed in high definition instead of looking at them on a screen. I had expected more from the book though. Perhaps some concept arts for the designs of the characters or the nations' environments would make it more interesting. I heard that an art exhibition for Fontaine had concept arts of Lyney and Lynette. Maybe something like that should be included in the future art books.
I just kind of wished there was more concept sketches like character design sketches or more info besides the characters general profile info.
But nonetheless it’s a nice book to have as a Genshin Impact fan. I love the Paimon in the side of the page that you can flip through like a flip animation.
