Monroe works for Syndicorp, and they're determined to open two new superstores in Roanoak Falls. But with the full moon on the rise, she's not sure she'll be able to pull it off.
When Wren's heat gets turned off, she winds up having to bunk in with a practical stranger - but there's something strange about her that she can't quite figure out.
With the fate of the town on the line, will Wren's old crush save the day, or make everything worse?
Monroe acquires land for Syndicorp, a multinational corporation building stores everywhere, stifling local businesses. Wren works in a small local hardware store in Roanoak Falls, a struggling small town in the Midwest USA. They meet when Monroe comes to the hardware store to buy a cable, and Wren manages to upsell her a vacuum cleaner. This is another in the Bears series; I felt this was not so engaging as the others I have read, even though both Monroe and especially Wren are lovely, well written characters. We also get a good appearance from Andie and Cat from the first book in the series. This story didn’t seem to flow as well as the others, however, it’s still a good book, certainly well worth reading.
I read this right after Fletcher’s first werebear book. It features a different situation with a main character who doesn’t understand what she is and hates it for more than one reason. Monroe works for a big box company that aims to take over all the small towns. The residents of these towns are usually not in favor of this development because the big box stores kill local businesses and jobs. Wren, the other main character, is a youngish woman who works at a general store and rents a house with her best friend. Wren despises Syndicorp, Monroe’s employer.
The two women meet, hit it off and things develop. Then the unthinkable happens – Monroe can’t control her shift and Wren sees it. Around the same time, the two main characters from the previous book just happen to be visiting town. There are three main threads – the blossoming romance, the Syndicorp problem, and the shifting. They all come to a head around the same time, so lots of events occur during that section. It was fun to see how Fletcher weaved in all these threads and wrapped the book up.
Another mushy, festive romance to lighten my mood this winter. We follow Wren, whose house loses heat in the dead of winter, and Monroe, an employee of a large and unwelcome property organisation who has a secret of her own.
- Similar to Christmas, Pursued by a Bear, this is a light and short paranormal, sapphic romance. The tone is cute, the drama slightly inflated but altogether enjoyable and fun.
- The characters are super cute and it was nice to see the protagonists of the first Werebears book make an appearance. As well as sapphic rep there was also a nonbinary character too which I loved.
Fun and cheerful for the season. If you want something that reads like a slightly fantastical Hallmark Christmas film you then Bearly Together fits that vibe perfectly.
Monroe descends on Roanoke Falls to help Syndicorp open 2 big super stores. She's always traveling for her job to different cities and towns around the country. Wren works at a hardware store that Monroe finds herself going to for an ethernet cable for Internet access. While shopping Monroe decides to buy a vacuum that Wren doesn't understand why Monroe buys it. While at the hardware store Monroe learns that Syndicorp is not highly liked by the town folks. Monroe doesn't really have any close friends or family since she considers herself to have some sort of sickness. The shenanigans abound and we meet some cameos! Off to read book 3.
Monroe Chase is a bear shifter and no matter what her parents did to stop it worked. Fast forward, Monroe works for a conglomerate of household goods, the more of them the better no matter what happens to the surrounding cities. Until she gets to a town with a young soon to be baker named Wren who makes the best muffins. Monroe also meets another shifter. Does she listen to the other bear shifter who tries to help her or not? Enjoy!
Really enjoying this Weres Series. Feeling like the OnlyOne, super scary, but paranoid. Trusting in others brings on doubting in a cure. Off to my next Adventure.
