I never thought I'd enjoy a Suicide Squad series as much as I did with this run, especially in a post-film era. But this is weirdly a lot of fun. And usually films ruin characters when the comics try to follow suite, but for once the film's saved a character in Bloodsport, who before looked like shit, and was written like shit. But now he's (imo) the heart of the comic (and film) so I'm all for the film's crossing over into the comics, when done right.

I used to like this series. But Ambush Bug is killing me. This character is too much of a goof-ball. I will give this title a shot for a few more issues, and see where it is going with Amanda trying to take control of an entire Earth (Earth 3 or such).

This should be one of the more serious DC titles, with criminals trying to save the world and such. A comic book version of the classic Dirty Dozen. Suicide Squad Get Joker! #1 by Brian Azzarello is more of what I am looking for. At least PG-13 rated, not Green Acres type humor. And where the heck is the 3rd issue of Get Joker? Sigh.

Instead, with Ambush Bug the author is bringing the level of this series. Way down. Just not my cup of tea..

The marvel references are cute, ambush bug is a little too annoying, but this all seems to be leading to something cool.
