WOULD YOU SACRIFICE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE EVER KNOWN TO LIVE IN PEACE?

Almost 800 years ago, a group of families flee the oppression of the Church, following a charismatic leader on a pilgrimage to what he has promised is a realm far to the east where they can live in peace, free to worship as they please.

But as they near their destination, something goes horribly wrong.

And when Archaeology Professor James Acton is invited to India by a US Senator to attend the opening of a new state-of-the-art communications facility near the Chinese border, he is eager to accept when he is informed of his true purpose—to act as guide to the Senator, an archaeology buff, who intends to visit the nearby Lake of Bones, an unsolved mystery that has baffled scientists for decades.

But as the communications facility opens, Acton and his friends are thrust into the middle of a conflict between India and China, and are soon in a fight for their lives.

A good story, one real archeological site that fits into the narrative, add a known regional conflict. (India and China this time). The heroes (several) save the day and world peace.

I received an ARC of Lake of Bones from the author.

It's an emerging read that is with any read from Robert J. Kennedy. I rarely run into books. I feel like I can smell, see and engage with the characters; luckily, Lake of Bones is one of those.

If it were possible, I would give this book ten stars. I can't wait to see which adventures James and Laura and their Bravo friends get themselves into.

Another great read. Professors James Acton and Laura Palmer get in the middle of a conflict between China and India. They were there at the invitation of Senator Simmons, an amature arceceology buff to see the Lake of Bones near the site of the new communications complex being dedicated.
From there it all goes downhill. Acton had invited friends, Mia & Tommy, as well as Interpol agent Hugh Reading. Now they were all in the midst of what could be the start of WWIII.
If you like action and suspense this book is for you. I personally have enjoyed all the James Acton series and this one does not disappoint, it has it all.

I'm a HUGE J. Robert Kennedy fan, but this book was a HUGE disappointment. Take the action back to Europe where everything is more interesting please. Nothing more about China for a long, long time please. More than 10 pages total that included James, Laura and Hugh would be great. Tommy and Mai have been through so many misadventures with the professors that they should be acting a little more grown up, a little tougher and resilient.

I just love these James Acton books and JRK writes them all in a similar style so you really know the format, but he blends it into a scenario that's feasible and once again the whole tale rocks along at pace - complete with all the usual suspects!!
I'm one of those instant buyers, regardless of what the book is called, as I know I will find it hard to put down and will thoroughly enjoy the experience. Roll on the next one!!

Dear Author,

You have already written too novels where in one the Acton extended family nearly overthrew the Chinese Gov’t and in another they derailed illegal mineral mining in South America. I can’t see why youd take the chacthers any where near the Chinese with there hostility with they know to be near PLA interests.

Another Acton thriller told between 1200AD and current day on the Chinese Indian border. An archaeological site, a lake of bones, has beckoned Acton and team - when they arrive an act of war has started between these two nations and James and team must keep their wits about them to survive. Always fast paced, this book was exciting from start to finish!

BOOK 32

Lake of bones as a interesting read, had a very surprising ending. As far as the modern part of the story it was well written and had a story about Amanda betraying his people for his beliefs. Like all of the other Acton books it a good read for people who like military and action books.

Lake of Bones

Awesome. The story is so well told and actually answer why there are similar words in Hungarian and Sanscrit. It is a piece of history I'm going to have to delve into to learn more.

It showed an intelligent grasp of the geo-politcal realities and dangers in this region that we are living through right now.

An excellent read.

Not 1 of his best.

Acton and crew go to India a.I got with a US senator for ceremony commemorating India’s new communication center that was just built opposite to several that they Chinese had built on the other side. The ending left a lot to be explained

Another great book

Another great book. The author has some very insightful thoughts in this book and the others on the world we live in today but secondary to the story itself. Love his books.

worst Kennedy ending ever

Didn’t like the ending, should have been more of the final outcome. Cannot understand why I have to have eight more words, last time I leave a review on this platform.

I enjoyed this thriller though, at times, I felt the plot was overly drawn out and somewhat convoluted.

However, the characters were well-drawn and the storyline was fascinating.

Book 32

Book 32 was a fun read and had a few errors. The plot is a bit different in how the characters get into trouble, but overall interesting and fun.
