One young woman struggling to master her magic is the only hope to stop it… On the cusp of womanhood, Georjie longs to unlock the full force of her fae-given powers. But never far from the trail of clues lurks a shadowy creature on the hunt for prey. And Georjie fears it may have found its first target when a local girl vanishes, only to be discovered in an open grave with her life slipping away… Can Georjie break the curse before ancient evil claims an innocent victim?
Ashes of the Wise
Her power has attracted the wrong kind of attention. Now a centuries-old witch wants to burn her at the stake… Blackmouth, Scotland. After managing to bury a vicious witch with her elemental magic, Georjie is horrified to learn entombing the spellcaster in soil has enabled the dark woman to rise again…and time is running out. Their romance blossoming in spite of the threat, Georjie and Lachlan travel to Dundee for clues to the fiend’s power. Learning that the ashes of three Wise will increase Daracha's power, and the ultimate goal is the destruction of the veil between worlds, Georjie realizes she's in way over her head. When the vengeful hag's shadowy pet demon comes after her, Georjie narrowly escapes into the Fae realm. There, she’s warned against returning to face the danger by someone who has tangled with the witch before. She's encouraged to start a new life within the protection Queen Elphame's realm can provide. But Georjie won’t let the monster roam free, even if it means risking her own life. Can Georjie unlock her magic or will the black witch claim her ashes?
Heart of the Fae
Make a deal with the fae at your own risk… Tricked into a slippery alliance, Georjie has no choice but to trust the only being with enough power to stop the black witch. All she has to do is lure Daracha to the right place at the right time using herself as bait, and the formidable queen will do the rest. Georjie gets a surprise visit she hopes will help her uncover why her father left all those years ago, but uprooting the truth is easier said than done. When her search leads her to unlock a secret message from the fae realm instead, she learns the dark witch's life is inextricably tied to the life of an innocent. If one dies, so does the other. Faced with an impossible choice and not enough time to make it, can Georjie make the deadline, save the innocent AND outwit the devastating fiend who craves her ashes?

This is an incredible series that is so good you can just read over and over again and never be bored! Well written this exciting and gripping storyline will grab you hook, line and sinker. There are fantastic characters and twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat and lost in this incredible world that the author has built and I cannot recommend it enough!
Although I loved the storyline, I was disappointed with the ending. As hard as Geordie fought to learn about her magic and family background, it just inconceivable that she would give up the chance to not permanently live in Stavarjak. She would have had the opportunity to be with the father she always wanted to know and identify with. It not like she had a strong relationship with the guy from without (none magical earth). Other than her final choice in men, I enjoyed this read. It was very descriptive in background, storyline and characteristics.
I have enjoyed reading ALL the different book series in this "world"!! I love the friendship between the original 3 girl elementals. The way they each have their own different powers and stories, yet are there for each other. I recommend that you start by reading from the very start of the books when the girls are in school together and don't stop. Enjoy the ride!!! I am on to my next series after this one that is set in the Fae kingdom... The Scented Court.
Interesting weaving of a supernatural story. Feels extra to believe only the teenage girl could handle saving 2 realms without help or tutelage. Additional suspended belief of the drawn out battle scenes escaping death.
For the audiobook, the voiceover was expressive with an impressive range of accents by SAG-AFTRA's Marmi Penning. My only issue is the voice seemed older than I expected from a teen finishing school.
OMGosh. This was a truly amazing series. I was on pins and needles, I couldn't see any way things could possibly come out right. What a great story teller this author is. I had read the original book where the 4 girls got their powers. I hope each of them gets a series.
I love this book because it has all the fantasy, drama and adventure I love without any of the smut. It's a book I wouldn't hesitate to share with the teens in my life. We are a family of readers and lovers of fantasy. I will definitely be recommending this book and its author.
Enjoyed reading about the characters and realizing mysteries. Each section of the series seems complete. Thought couldn't match other characters adventures, I was wrong. Didn't want it to end, or say goodbye with sharing their lives that became real ... for a short while.
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
Really loved the story all the way through Loved the thread of “whose my daddy” all the way to what was a surprise ending At least to me Loved the characters, not as much development as the first series, but that is to be expected
Great trilogy. Lots of back and forth action. My only reservation was Georgie's age. It didn't seem right that she was high school age, especially when she hooked up with Lachlan. BTW, this should count as three books
Delightful read. Fun and suspenseful, written for the teenage years it was still great for an old coot like me. Wouldn't be part of my regular fare, but a good Diversion
Honestly a great book to read but look up the reading order because all of the books in this series are just perfect for a wonderful escape from reality for a little while.
I could almost feel the emotions and turbulence the characters went through. The villain was kind of exactly the power hungry type. Maybe a touch more depth in your next villain. I am excited to read the next books! Thank you Jeff Howell
I was excited about the setting being in Scotland. The entire series was well written and hard to put down. I love all things fae and magic; this series checked all the boxes.
I have read this whole series now and I love all of it. The friendships were great and they all had their own experiences but they were always there for each other. Thank you for the fantastic journey.
Love the characters and stories of Targa, Georgie and Saxony. You will want to read them all! Adventure the supernatural and love! Very clean, great for teenagers and adults. Highly recommended ❤️
I have submitted reviews, after listening to the audiobooks for each of the titles contained within this series set box, under each title's pages. (Audible)
FABULOUS SERIES THAT STOLE MY HEART!! Book 1 was BRILLIANT Very intense story when the past is bought to the fore. Georgie is flying blind here, from the mysterious calling to Scotland to the folklore surrounding the ancient land. I found this part 1 of the tale mesmerizing, scary and l have several questions l hope will be answered in the next installment. Book 2 NO BRAINER 5 STARS Fantastic story that carried me away on every step, leaving the reality of my life behind and wove me into the very fabric of the tale as only the very best authors can! It's beautiful, scary, action packed and left me with a feeling of hope. Book 3 THIS SERIES STOLE MY HEART Wow! I just loved Georgies story and her history reveal was so interesting. It's consistent writing like this that has made A L Knorr one of my favorite authors. RECOMMENDED.
