Total No of Chapters : Chapter 24 - Chapter 33 Bonus Chapter : - Episode of animation: (Haven't watched so will edit later when I've watched) Arc: Moebius Arc
Overall: The continuation of Moebius Arc, saving Draken and Mikey's and Draken's friendship from resolving the gang.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV VOLUMES YET (edit, Volume 7 became my fav but this volume is amongst the top favs)
We get fighting scenes
We get bloody and gory
And we get a good amount of fighting for your own self in this volume.
This volume solidifed my love for this series. I got attached with the characters really fast. All I wanted to do is let all of this kids grow up to be proper adults that is not tainted by all of these fights, but in a way, this is the beauty of this manga in a way. The friendship in here, the loyalty and the moment that you're fighting the people that you're scared of. Takemichi is still scared all the time, but in a way, being just 14, you'll be scared of anything especially to get hurt.
I like the dynamics of Draken, Takemichi and the direction of the manga somehow kinda made sense. In a way, I was not convinced by the time leap, but it didn't make this manga any less enjoyable. We're in it for the characters and this volume sealed the deal for me, I'm in love with this series.
And in a way, the mangaka knows how to keep the story going. He really shows that even if we changed the course during the past, if the root of the problem is not dealt with, the future will remain the same, and even worst, it will be more distorted. The ending of this volume is effed up in every way, but its eye opening as well.
Please check trigger warnings before reading this manga. Its pretty violent tbh. Currently just on a roll binge reading this.
Things heat up as Takemichi tries to save Ryuguji before he bleeds out.
This was a intense volume. From Takemichi and his final stand against gang members trying to kill Ryuguji. To a nice big brawl between two gangs. To Takemichi taking the first steps into being a man with a purpose. To going back to modern day era and being surprised on what is happening. To a shocking and fucked up ending...we have plenty in this jam packed volume to be excited for.
This reminds me of a anime I've just watched called Re:zero where you think the hero fixes things but in actuality it just gets worse. This is pretty much a story about a guy just trying to do right after doing pretty much nothing with his life. To watch the struggle is interesting and we get some real great character growth from Manjiro and Ryguji, who are becoming two of my favorite characters. Even some nice character work for Emma and Hinata.
The first volume was just good but these last two volumes have been fantastic. I assume with the show's success this will blow up even more. I love reading digital but if they do get printed I'm re-buying this series.
Takemichi trying to save Draken is always so sweet!!!
Pre-reiview: Gangster-themed and teenage biker gang manga really isn't my cup of tea but after I read a few yaoi fanfics from this fandom even before I watched the anime adaptation. I was kinda smitten with the story and its characters!
Plus, after I watched the anime adaptation and saw how a certain character interacted with another certain character (I'm sure you know who I'm talking about), my reaction was: "Holy shit! You're telling me this is not a Boy's Love series!????"
A new gang 'Valhalla' has just been formed, but their captain is a mystery at this point. However, their Vice Captain 'Hanma' sure is clever. I'll cherish the moment where he'll get beaten by Takemichi in his own game.
I was already wondering how this one would continue now that all the players are set and things are playing out right, but then that ending happened and I was just NOOOOOOOOOO. Classic time loop stuff this one is, you think you find the happy ending.. but did you really? I am so looking forward to what is next, what will Takemichi do now???
