He’s cruel. Insufferably attractive. And broken beyond redemption.

After the nightmare I just ran from, those details should have made him the perfect storm of do not touch. Except I didn’t know any of this—other than the attractive part—when I met him.

Our story started on a lie.

He pretended to be someone else, and I didn't ask a lot of questions. Nor did I try to stop him when he snuck out of my hotel room in the wee hours of the morning. I was determined to start my new life on an uptick and a wild one-night with a hot stranger felt like just the ticket.

Only I should have known something that good wouldn't end that easy.

On my first night in my new house, our paths cross again when I discover he's my new neighbor. No longer the charming man I met in the bar, he's a grump, completely unfriendly, and utterly intolerable. As if this couldn't get any worse, I quickly learn I'm also his daughter’s new teacher.

A wonderful daughter I can't help but fall in love with.

Something I refuse to do with him. Our button-pushing back and forth never fails to get under my skin. If anything, his sudden off-limits status makes resisting this devil of a single dad that much easier.

Regardless of the temptation he presents. How searing his heated gaze is when I catch him staring. Or how breathless our stolen moments leave us.

After all, this is the fresh start I so desperately need, and I will not let anything get in my way.

No. I can’t give in to Doctor Heartless. No matter how hard he tries to change my mind.

DOCTOR HEARTLESS is a 95k word deliciously STEAMY, grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers romance that will hit you straight in the feels! It is a standalone in the bestselling Boston's Billionaire Bachelors series featuring Boston's hottest billionaire doctors and the women they fall head over heels for!

Bonus chapter - 1

THIS BOOK>>>. I just straight up ate it, also why does the best book in the series have to be the shortest? The amount of laughter I gathered while reading this book was infinite. I KNEW THIS BOOK WAS GOING TO BE HOT AND GOOD. BECAUSE, THERES NOTHING BETTER THAN ENEMIES-TO-LOVERS WHERE THEY WANT TO SLIT EACH OTHER'S THROATS, BUT ALSO WANT TO RIP EACH OTHERS CLOTHES OFF.

I anticipated this book more than anything and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint me. Their relationship was rocky in the beginning with lots of hate, however, I loved the smooth progressive transition in their relationship. It was like watching a quintessential movie. Once again I was going slow with this book because I didn't want it to end. I loved how Landon and Elle fit right into each other's lives and how they gave each other a second chance.

I had a hard time reading their ONS, where she thought he was Luca. However, their interaction after that was hilarious, hurtful, and even embarrassing. I had a good laugh while reading it. Especially when Landon said "In my previous life, I must have killed a priest. Or a nun. Or maybe Jesus himself. Because I’m forever tortured in this one. It’s like life has a vendetta against me." Lol this guy was hilarious.

Landon, my baby deserved the world. Every word he thought, was so expressive and powerful that I could feel all the pain he carried within him. He was blaming himself for something he never had control over and the pain and sadness he carried around just made my heart heavy. I was so happy when Elle said the words any person who blames them wants to hear and it melted my heart. He was scared to choose Elle but then he went ahead and took the chance without knowing that it was going to change his life for good.

I knew I was gone for Landon when these were his thoughts -
" I’m a planet, orbiting her. She’s a sun I never cared I was missing until she shined her light on me and my daughter." "She’s the air I haven’t breathed in so long. Life I never wanted to live again. I’m addicted. Addicted to her. To this feeling. To just plain old feeling again."

He was so hot when the whole protective alpha energy came out. He was strong and knew how to keep his family safe. He could compete with most dark romance men with touch-them-and-die vibes and still win because damn he was just perfect. You think grumpy Landon is hot, wait until you see him turn into a fluffy bear for Elle. I was swooning with Elle over him. He was smiling, SMILING!! all because he found a girl who was worth all the effort and time. Not only that, our grumpy boy was making all sorts of jokes. He was a hidden sunshine. Their moments were so pure and beautiful, that I kept re-reading them over and over again. The quietest ones indeed have the dirtiest mouth, and Landon Fritz was no exception.

Coming on Elle. Does any girl in this series have good parents? Elle's parents are way more awful than anyone. Another girl who's looking for family and happiness and I just know the Fritz family is gonna be that home for her one day just like it became a home for Amelia and Grace.

She is the actual definition of Spitfire, because damn this girl had the best comeback lines that not only left him wordless but also pissed in a way that he just wanted to shut her mouth in any way possible. Iykyk. Her first interaction with Luca was so hilarious that I think I peed my pants a little. Nevertheless, I could understand why Landon called her vixen and wanted to hate-kiss her whenever she opened her mouth because I would have done the same. She reminded me so much of Amelia. A girl who knows how to fight her battles, SIGN ME UP!! She was strong, caring, sassy, and a keeper. I loved how she knew what to do for herself and how to fight for Landon and Stella. I loved how she took a stand for herself and didn't let another man walk all over her and whenever Landon was mean to her(in the beginning) she knew how to put him back in place and that was so fun to read.

The chemistry between Elle and Landon was electric, steaming hot, and sweet at the same time. One must be scared of getting burned. They got a second chance with love and life and they clung to it. Every moment they shared was pure fire, the "hate" attraction was so strong that you could feel it through the pages. I loved how they understood each other. I cried, I cried a lot while reading about their past and grief. They both have suffered enough for a lifetime and it was now their time to receive happiness, which they found in each other. And honestly, that soothed my heart to a great extent. The feel of this book was just perfect. Two tortured souls had an ONS and hated each other after that while also carrying undying attraction within. They end up being soulmates who mend each other's hearts, and they build a new world where they could be happier.

Once again the author didn't disappoint in the amount of spice and I know I keep saying the same thing throughout the series but what can I do?? The spice was spicing and every scene was hotter than the previous one. There I said it again. No guilts.

Luca, in this book, stole the show. The way he always looked after Landon and saw nothing but his happiness melted my heart. He was such a playful character who knew how to get a rise out of his brother to make him react and seek his claim. I loved his bond with Ellery and how he kept pushing Elle and Landon against each other until they saw what he did. That is the kind of sibling, one wants. Not that the other siblings weren't good or supportive, but Luca stood out.

Stella was a great kid, she was smart, considerate, sweet, and understanding. I love how she understood complex life lessons and rationally thought her way through. She deserved so much, and I couldn't be anymore happier when she found a mother figure in Elle. They had such a great bond. Stella and Landon's father-daughter relationship was superior.

The epilogue for this book was *Chef's Kiss*. Can you imagine two broken souls who lost all hopes of getting happiness, to sit together and decide their future(which included kids)? OMG, I'm gonna cry, again. Why did it have to be so beautiful 😭😭. Again why was this book so short??

Never getting over this book.
Overall 5/5 ♾

I just loooove this book. Now, I can definately say that J. Saman is one of my favourite authors. This book was even better than the previous ones and It was everything that I ever wanted.

Landon and Elle were perfect for each other. The attraction and the sparks between them was there from page one. The smut...OMG, the smut...It was soo good and I don't have enough words to describe it. I did laughted a bit when Landon was trying to overcome his attraction, but...we all know what happens in books like this. It is not worth it, because you know you will end up happy and in love in the end.

Even though that I've read the 3 books all together, I will still buy the paperback editions. Because it was THAT GOOD.

I am literally In love in this book ❤️.

This is *checks the number* the third book in the series about the Fritz siblings and we are now up to Landon and Elle's book. You might know Landon from the previous book as the broody (and moody) and kinda mysterious twin who are more closed up, mostly because of the fact that he is a single dad.

I was actually quite excited for his book (single dad trope is a good one) but it didn't really hit the mark for me. To be honest, now counting two weeks after finishing it (I know that my reviews have been absent, but I don't have the time while working 50+ hours at the moment 😅) I can't recall the whole book... Don't get me wrong, it was good and not bad but it didn't really stick to my memory as the previous books did. I thought Landon was going to be a memorable MC but in the end it didn't turn out that way and maybe it is because I prefer the single dad trope with younger kids? Feels like more sweet moments happen then.

Will I read the following book about Luca? Yeah, probably. I love how J. Saman writes and her books are light, sweet and somewhat steamy so you will for sure see me reading more by her.

Thank you to Grey's Promotions for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A sweet and cute romance with just the right amount of spice and a wonderful family you'll want to be a part of.
What life is there when you're reduced to missing pieces and leftover parts?
Elle has been the very definition of trophy wife. Unfortunately, this means her husband doesn't have much of a care for her and verbally abuses her. She's about had it and so she leaves him, ready to start a brand new life. Right when she's about to start fresh, she meets a man who desires her, making her feel worth she had lost. Little did she know he was the very well-known Dr. Landon Fritz, a man who's completely closed off, grumpy, and his only focus is his daughter.
The quiet one. The grump. The heartsick man who never found his way back after losing his wife.
I loved the pace that the author took with this story. It wasn't rushed, it wasn't slow; it was just right in order to delve into both Landon's and Elle's backgrounds in a way that had me falling little by little with the characters and the story.
With her, I was someone I haven't been in a very long time. Someone I thought died along with my wife.
I felt for Landon and his grief over his wife. He believes he's the reason she died, and because of it, he's very secluded and only lets in his family. When Elle pops up, he's ready to only have one night with her and that's it. He definitely wasn't counting on how wonderful Elle would be, the fact that she'd be his daughter's teacher, and his neighbor; she's everywhere.
"I want to deserve her," I whisper to overly fragrant, cool air. "She's not you—she'll never be you—but could she be the next best thing for our girl?"
I adored Stella (Landon's daughter) and Elle's friendship. They took a major liking to each other, and they have similar interests. Getting to see Stella interact with Ella were some of my favorite parts, especially when it came to Ella teaching Stella how to cook. It was such a great time for these two to bond and get to know each other more.

The rest of the Fritz family was just as wonderful. They all like to tease each other and through it, you can see a bond unlike any other. And when they let you in, you're in for life. I'm excited to dive into the rest of the series to read about their stories.

Overall, Doctor Heartless is a heart-warming story of moving on, discovering oneself, and finding love in the unexpected.
"You're under my skin." She says it like a warning.
I cup her face in my hand, forcing her eyes to mine. "Under your skin is my new home."

A Grumpy Single Dad Next Door Neighbor Romance.

This is the third book in this series that I have read and I have to say that it is my favorite. This book was so beautifully written.

Elle is finally free. She's left her abusive husband and moved to a new town. She's taken a job teaching at an affluent middle school and is temporarily renting a house in a lovely neighborhood. Too bad it's right next door to her recent one-night stand.

Landon is a widow who won’t let himself feel again. He is so angry and mired in guilt, and the walls around his heart are impenetrable. Elle is his polar opposite. He can’t even fight the attraction and magnetism that is Elle. I loved their connection and the steam between them.
Landon and Elle's chemistry is so spicy and intense from their meeting at the bar to the very end.

Tense and steamy

Well this certainly takes the steam up a couple of notches! This starts out STEAMY and stays that way throughout, with palpable sexual chemistry sparking between these characters. For me, it was more of a sexual relationship than anything else, which left me feeling a little disconnected from their emotional relationship - but that makes for a tension-filled, super sexy read. This broody, broken hero is somewhat difficult to like (and a love a grump), but it's easy to see that he's a loving father with a sweet side that's buried beneath the surface. I wish we had seen more of the good times between this couple outside of the bedroom, but Saman's writing shines in other ways.

The story follows Landon, a man who has loved and lost. He's a widower with a teenage daughter, and he locked his heart away when his wife died. So when Landon meets a beautiful woman in a bar, it's just supposed to be a one night stand - even if they have a great connection. He's not emotionally available for a relationship, and Elle is newly divorced with plenty of her own issues. But when Landon discovers that Elle is his new neighbor AND his daughter's new teacher, all of those good intentions fly out the window. They have the kind of chemistry that's impossible to ignore, and they're drawn together despite both of their hesitations.

I'll openly admit that it took me a little longer than usual to warm up to this story - while I'm a big fan of Saman's work, this particular series has so many common themes that they blend together for me. Not only are the covers nearly indistinguishable from each other, but every hero is a billionaire, commitment-phobic doctor, and every heroine seems to have a terrible ex. Once I got further into the story, the unique elements became clear - Landon is a single dad, he actually is more of a relationship guy, and the neighbors dynamic is a definite win (HELLO facing windows, you never disappoint). I loved how charged their interactions were, and how sexual tension-filled every scene is, though I would've happily traded away one or two steamy scenes for one or two more moments of emotional connection. Honestly, Elle emotionally connected with Landon's daughter more than she did him. Things moved pretty fast once Landon let his walls down, and I needed a few more reasons to love him. That being said, I always go into Saman's work with very high expectations, because she is so skilled at making forbidden relationships SIZZLE. If you're new to her work, then it's definitely time to give it a try.

Oh my heart y'all, just when I think she's given us her best this talented lady raises the bar impossibly higher with a story of two broken people stumbling through life who somehow smooth each others' jagged edges, find healing, and realize a brand new future of beautiful possibilities.

Landon Fritz has been a bit of an enigma up until now. We know he's a single father to a thirteen-year-old daughter, having lost his wife in an auto accident years earlier, he's a prominent cardiologist in Boston, and he's part of the affluent Abbott-Fritz family that everyone watches. He's not the life of the party or even a guy we get the warm fuzzies from. He stoic, even surly, and his focus is on work and family. And the one time he acts out of character, the repercussions follow him home in the form of a new next-door neighbor.

Elle Wilde finally got fed up with her verbally abusive husband. She left the opulent home afforded through his professional golfing career, got a divorce, and moved to the other end of the country. She's taken a job teaching at an affluent middle school and is temporarily renting a house in a lovely neighborhood. Too bad it's right next door to her recent one-night stand. And she's about decided Landon Fritz is a Jekyll and Hyde, because the kind, attentive man she met that night is nowhere to be found.

Saman always delivers, but this one is extra special. Landon, bless his heart, is so angry and mired in guilt, and the walls around his heart are impenetrable. Elle is his polar opposite. She's been used and abused by too many people close to her, yet she's sweet and kind while being so strong and determined. And Elle with Landon's daughter Stella? It's so genuine, special and amazing that I may be more a fan of Elle and Stella than Elle and Landon. Okay, maybe not, but there are so many special, tender, uplifting moments between them it made my heart soar.

With poetic prose, heartbreaking tragedy, second chances, healing and hope, this one will leave its permanent mark on your soul and a happy sigh in your heart. Make sure you don’t miss this extraordinary, evocative, unforgettable read!

Oh man, this was so so good. I have loved this whole series and the books just keep getting better and more emotionally complex. Amazing! After reading the first two books in the series, I was salivating for Landon’s sad story and Saman did not disappoint!

This is no easy romance. Both Landon and Ellery have a closet full of baggage and their own very personal, very real reasons for not wanting a relationship. But fate has other ideas for them. A mutually agreed upon one-night-stand creates their connection and time and time again they are unable to avoid each other. It’s comical how they keep orbiting each other’s lives. This is one of those books that make you laugh and cry within the span of one chapter!

I love a hero in a book that seems to hate everyone but those closest to him and Landon certainly fits that bill. Loving only his family and his daughter, and when you see him opening up that tight circle for Elle, it’s so heart warming.
And these two have chemistry for days, both initially and when they start to explore having each other in their lives. More fireworks than the 4th of July!

But I really loved how this wasn’t just a simple second chance romance with easily blamed bad guys and and a sad backstory. This was a really well paced story with emotionally damaged characters who recognized their issues and work hard to acknowledge and heal from them. And there is a bit of a twist you will never see coming.

This is a great story. You can totally read it as a standalone, but you will enjoy the Fitz family time if you are familiar with all the characters.

I received an advance copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions and these are my honest opinions.

Good story that will make emotional.
Landon and Ellery have such emotional baggage and it’s not easy for them. But life works in mysterious way and put these two together. One night stand leads to create such a connection between them that they are just unable to stay away from each other.
This story was amazing. The characters were written in such a good way that you could feel everything they felt.
This story is one of a kind that isn’t cliche and makes you so emotional.

Every time I pick up a book by J Saman I know I’m in for a treat. This series has everything that I love in a romance story.
A grumpy hero that gets struck by Cupid’s arrow when least expected, his teenage daughter that brings along all the challenges of her age and a heroine that is nothing like I was expecting. And I loved them together so much.
The chemistry, the banter and everything in between was just perfectly crafted to build a great romance that crossed a few bridges in its way.
Looking forward to read more in this series!

1.5 🌶

after reading 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 and 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲, i had high expectations for 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. with landon being this mysterious single dad who hardly showed emotions in the first two books, i was so excited for this story.

unfortunately, doctor heartless did not live up to my expectations. there's a lot i did love about the book, from elle's sunshine personality, landon's grumpiness and possessiveness to his relationship with stella. however, there were a lot of cons for me as well.

the development of elle and landon's relationship was far too quick. for this book to be advertised as an enemies-to-lovers, i expected a lot more push-and-pull, more "i hate you, because i hate that i want you", more banter, more bickering, just more 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘦𝘴. all i know is one minute they weren't exactly on speaking terms and the next, they were ripping each other's clothes off—and no, this wasn't something like an enemies-with-benefits kind of situation.

in addition to the fast progression of their relationship, i felt like both characters weren't fleshed out all that well. both of their characters felt like it was built and based solely off their trauma, and on their trauma alone—especially landon's character. i wanted more personality, more in-depthness from them both.

another thing to add was the climax of the story and the events leading up to it, as well as what david told elle. that was a major revelation, and she just...brushed it off? i understand why she did it, she didn't owe him anything else, but i didn't expect such a bomb to be dropped in chapter 'x' and for the next ten chapters, it's barely mentioned at all. the climax of the story itself was so rushed. as i got closer and closer to the end, i was (figuratively, of course) on the edge of my seat in anticipation, jittery with nerves of what would finally happen and then suddenly, everything happened all at once. within one chapter, everything that could've happened, happened. because of this, it was difficult to properly absorb and comprehend what was going on. then, the actual ending of the book was wrapped up so quickly and abruptly.

considering landon has a daughter, still has trauma to work through and so does elle, i'd expected a slower, smoother approach to their relationship but it was just over and done with, going at the speed of two hundred. because of this, i wasn't able to appreciate the book itself or the plotline. of course there were elements i enjoyed, such as the big friend group (gosh, i love all of them), seeing my favourite characters from past books again, the teasing and stella's attitude.

oh, and the dirty talk wasn't my favourite. a few scenes and certain dialogue (including and excluding dirty talk) did make me cringe.

all in all, this was an okay book, but i'm not the happiest with it. i'm excited for luca and kaplan's books, though, especially kaplan's and can't wait for their stories!

𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 (𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹), 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁, 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀, 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹.

Holy hell, I could not put this book down. So well written, the characters feel so real. Landon and Ellery have both been through hell in their respective life times, Landon carrying guilt over his wife’s death seven years ago, and Ellery living through a marriage with a narcissist, unaware that her parents and twin sister are mainly responsible for the state of her marriage. Ellery makes the decision to divorce her husband and start a new life, unaware that the fates have put Landon on a collision course with her. This one is abit of an emotional roller coaster, but I loved it.

I am obsessed with a single dad trope, which gave this book many brownie points right from the start!

Finally, we get Landon's story. Grumpy, heartbroken, sweet Landon. Losing his wife changed his life forever, and with a teenage daughter, his life is anything but easy. His daughter Stella is the light of his life and what keeps him going. I loved reading about Stella, her smartness, and her special relationship with her father.

Landon meets Elle in a bar and ends up having a one-night stand. The night is full of passion, but Landon cannot commit to anything more than a night, and Elle, just finalizing a divorce, isn't looking for anything serious. So what happens when the very next day, Elle meets her new neighbor who is not only his new neighbor but his daughter's new history teacher... you'll have to read and find out!

I loved this book so much, the obstacles they had to face and overcome together was challenging, but I loved every minute of reading how they managed to solve all their problems! I can't wait to get to Luca's story next!!!

J Saman has once again wowed me with her words and pulled me into her characters world. I am loving this series and all the characters in this world.
I fell in love with single dad, widower and Doctor Landon Fritz. He is grumpy, stoic, and feels unable to love or connect since the loss his wife years ago. He is surrounded by family that loves, can be infuriating and quite the show of comic relief!
Ellery is a woman that is rediscovering herself after getting out of a damaging marriage. She is slowly rising up after being broken down for years by the verbal abuse of her husband and her family. It is time for her to make herself and see where she fits and who will be by her side.
A chance meeting in a hotel bar, no last names and maybe not real names, immediate attraction and a whole lot of sexual chemistry. Landon could have never saw this coming, but that same woman is now your neighbor, and your teenage daughter has developed an intense connection with her.
I loved how real these characters where and you couldn't help but fall for them. They had faults, insecurities, heartbreaking pasts and so many possibilities for the future if they can trust themselves to love again. Their banter was refreshing and so entertaining to read!
Loved Ellery, Landon and of course Sophie !!

I have to stop taking stupid book recommendations from tiktok. It’s my new rule. This was atrocious, I mean the first 150-200 pages were intriguing but it was just horrific afterwards, the main characters must be crazy or something because the way they changed their minds and actions every two minutes was insane. One second the guy is saying he hates her the second he’s kissing her and not in the stupid tension way either. And suddenly he doesn’t feel guilty any more about his dead wife like literally out of nowhere. There was no actual proper buildup to their relationship it just spawned out of nowhere , with no chemistry to back it. And the fact that ‘I love you’ bombs we’re being dropped only 2
months into actually knowing each other and maybe 2 weeks into being together was insanity!! It was awful. I just started skim reading at some point, some of the plot points dumped in there were insane too like what do you mean your ex husband was drugged by your parents and twin sister so that he could cheat on you with your twin sister so your parents and twin sister could extort him for money. Everything was a mess. One of my most regrettable reads.

I have really struggled with this series. I can usually read a book within a day but I have a hard time getting into this one. The first 2 books were okay but they dragged and couldn't hold my attention but I held on hoping that things would change.
Finally this book was what I was looking for. Then the author had to go and ruin it with choices that pissed me off.
Elle's family literally screwed her over ever chance that they could. When she finds out that her sister drugged and slept with her husband so that they could blackmail him, that should have been the end. Is that what happens....NO
Her ex cuts them off so they reach out to her to settle a debt so that her sister doesn't get killed and instead of her telling them they are on their own she pays them off.
I am DONE! I won't be reading any more from this author if she makes females look like stupid idiotic characters.

4.5 BIG HEART STARS
I absolutely adore Elle & Landon and their story!
Landon is a heart surgeon who guards his own heart tightly in matters of romance. He saves all his love for his family.
Most specifically his daughter, Stella. She’s such a smart, lovable and unique teenager.
I love her and I love their relationship.
I enjoyed her and loved her connection and relationship with Elle also. There’s some really cute, fun and heartwarming scenes between them.
I’m not always a fan of kids as major secondary characters, it really works for this story and adds a lot of depth and warmth.
Also, some really relatable situations and some great humor happen with Stella.
She brings the characters together and she brings all those feelings of the angsty teen years.
She’s very smart and mature for her age, she keeps the adults on their toes.

Landon is grumpy and stand-offish with everyone but his daughter. He is determined to be the best dad and not to ever love a woman again.
He’s a wealthy and successful man who only allows himself occasional one night stands. No feelings, no attachment.
He has a lot of empathy underneath his gruff exterior. He tries to hide it a bit, but he’s actually quite big hearted and thoughtful. He has some extremely alpha protector moments and he’s absolutely swoon worthy!
I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and it works well with these characters.

Elle is a really sympathetic character, she’s had a rough go of it in life and she’s starting over in a new city and state.
She’s a sassy southern girl with a big heart.
She’s smart, understanding and kind.
Add in the spicy attitude and I think she was so much fun.
Her emotional intelligence and her empathy made me love her.

Lots of great quips and taunting between the main characters, I loved the tension and simmering attraction.

The characters have chemistry in spades, they challenge each other and understand each other on a deeper level.
They both have very similar tragedies in their past. They are at different places in processing the grief and guilt.

The story is a lot of fun, it also has some heavy and serious topics and scenarios that bring some dramatic twists.
It was balanced by the secondary characters humor, teasing, warmth and family love. Tons of heart in this story.
It’s very hot and sexy, too! I loved the sexy times between the characters, the tension from the push and pull, hot and cold made it exciting and intense.
They are fiery, fun and spicy when they get together. Lots of hot and some deliciously naughty times 🔥

Doctor Heartless by J. Saman was romance lover's heaven. The feels. The passion. The characters. I fell in love with them instantly and I have a major book hangover. It was the full spectrum of emotions that you can expect from a romance novel. Swoonworthy. Steamy. Heartfelt.

Dr. Landon Fritz didn't let his heart open since the unfortunate accidental death of his love and his wife Reese. His 13 year old daughter Stella is his world. He meets Elle in a ritzy bar and feels immediate attraction to her. Elle just came out of an abusive marriage and she is starting fresh in Boston with new job. And a sexy night with a stranger is just what she needs. Only..it doesn't end there. Their path crosses again. Elle is his daughter's new teacher and his new neighbour. Landon will try his best to push her away and Elle isn't in a space for games. But their connection is undeniable.

God why do I love single dad romance so much? Talk about ovaries exploding and all. Landon is crazy protective and supportive of his daughter and that does something magical to me. Stella is an amazing girl. She is so mature beyond her age. Sweet, smart, kind and so beautiful. She needs someone in her life now as fathers don't always fulfil all mother's role..and Elle steps in. This woman amazed me. She has been through so much emotional pain and yet, she keeps on spreading love and smile and kindness. She has this fire that she refuses to let anyone to extinguish. Not even her sexy neighbour. Landon can be a lot ah01e and arrogant and intense because he doesn't know how to handle all these new feels those he avoided so many years. And Elle made him face everything. She has emotional damages and my heart was swooning by the way Landon was tender and careful with her wounds. Together, they are explosive. I am talking about pantymelting hot chemistry. Just pure fire. But their broken pieces fit together. This is their second chance and they grabbed it with both hands. The Fritz- Abbot family is awesome. They are famous and rich and influential but basically, they are a big loving family and I love them. This story has so much heartwarming emotions that my heart is overflowing.

Doctor Heartless: A Grumpy Single Dad Next Door Neighbor Romance (Boston's Billionaire Bachelors Book 3)
Previous books in this series: Doctor Scandalous & Doctor Mistake
Kindle Unlimited: [X]YES [ ]NO
Stand-alone: [X]YES [ ]NO
Author: J. Saman
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spiciness rating: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
POV: Dual, first person
Main Couple: Elle & Landon
Favorite Character: Elle
Tropes: Contemporary romance; Single parent; enemies to lovers; neighbors to lovers; billionaire; grumpy-sunshine

Review:

This is my first contact with J. Saman work and I can say I was missing out. Elle and Landon are complex characters with a lot of baggage and things to overcome in order to be happy in a new relationship. Elle escaped a toxic marriage and was trying to put her life back together and Landon was trying (and failing) to overcome the death of his wife (after many years he couldn’t get rid of the guilty feelings he had) and raising his child.
I don’t care for children in books, but since Stella was a teen (and not an annoying one) it didn’t bother me. What did was the way Landon treated Elle in the beginning. When she mentioned she was feeling like a rental car I felt for her and wanted her to find someone else. However, J. worked her magic and made the couple be so good together by the end that I forgot Landon’s misdeeds. If you like a grumpy-sunshine romance, go for it that you won’t regret it.

Thank you so much Julie and Grey’s Promotions for the ARC provided. I really appreciated it.

4 stars. I liked it but her family was despicable. Elle has had it with men not respecting her and her life of pleasing others so she is making changes. Including a 1 night stand with a hot stranger. Its a well worn trope but I liked how it played out, especially with Stella and being neighbors. Its far fetched but still enjoyable as a story. I especially liked the "wellness" class sex-ed part.

She is pretty sassy with Luca and Landon:
"And since I can already tell you’re the one with the bigger ego of the two of you, you should know I would have gone to bed with a garden hose that night if it got me off. It had nothing to do with the guy and everything to do with starting my new life out on an orgasm.”

And as she gets to know Stella:
“I don’t like you having secrets with my daughter.”
“Sucks to be you then.”
Damn her.

I liked his family and their meddling ways, him and his brothers giving each other shit. That was entertaining.

And when she is tired of the whiplash that is Landon Fritz:
He can scowl all he wants, but the man had his face between my thighs last night along with what is likely his favorite appendage. If turning into a douchebag asshole is his routine after every time we have sex, then a come to Jesus chat is headed his way right quick.

Upon further reflection, my thanks to the author who lets us know that they had a birth control talk as well as how Landon makes a point to go wash his hands after some back door action. Most authors don’t address this, cleaning up! And that always sqicks me out.

As I read each book in this series, I think “can this one be better than the last”? Then I read Landon’s story, and wow, yes, it can! So many emotions went thru me as I delved yet again into the Fritz-Abbott world. Landon, while he may come off gruff and detached, is one incredible man! He has been thru a heartbreaking time in his past, but the love he has for his daughter and family will melt your heart. He feels he doesn’t deserve happiness, but when Ellery comes into his life, all bets are off. She throws him into such an emotional tailspin, he doesn’t know what to do. But they were only supposed to have one night, but life doesn’t always go to plan, does it?!

Ellery is a young woman coming off a bad marriage who wants a change in her life. Wants nothing to do with relationships as she just wants to get her life back in order. Then Landon shows up one night and she is blown away by his handsomeness and sexiness. Thinking she will never see him again, until one day that all gets blown out of the water. Can two people from such vastly different backgrounds ever make a go of it?

The chemistry between these two is so hot that the pages burned and my fingers got singed as I turned them. Their connection is like no other and I kept hoping that they would end up together. The sign of a great story to me is one that makes me laugh and makes me cry and one that makes me fall in love with the characters. That is definitely this story. It will take you on an emotional rollercoaster of which you never want to end. I am in awe of this author as she continually proves to me how talented she is with each story I read of hers. If ever a there was a series or story that needs to be read, this is it. Pure brilliance!

POV: First person / Dual
Genre: One Night Stand / Neighbours / Single Dad / Widower / Grumpy & Sunshine

Landon is a single Dad who is gruff, grumpy and stand-offish with everyone who isn’t his daughter, Stella. Elle is new to Boston, and just out of an emotionally abusive relationship. When she meets Landon, she has no idea who he is and wants nothing more than one night with the handsome stranger next to her at the hotel bar. However the fates align and Elle is pushed into Landon’s proximity in more ways than one.

I loved Landon’s character progression, the way his story unravelled was beautiful, showing that under his gruff exterior, guilt and fear, was actually an empathetic, big hearted and thoughtful dreamer. Landon was a protective alpha, yet a swoon worthy sweetheart in equal measure. I’ve loved J Saman’s Fritz boys from the start, but I have to say Landon is my favourite.

As for Elle, I loved her strength; her courage and confidence were beautiful to read. She was also vulnerable and scarred by her past, I felt the way that J Saman wrote about Elle’s emotional abuse and it’s lasting effects, was something to be applauded, the subject matter was written in a delicate yet strong way.

As a secondary character I loved Stella, she was smart and lovable, vulnerable and strong, damaged and resilient. Her relationship with her father pulled at my heart, it was so beautiful. But I also loved her relationship with Elle, their bond was adorable and so heartwarming.

I really enjoyed the pace of the book and the progression of Landon and Elle’s romance, their chemistry was instantaneous and their connection powerful. Doctor Heartless packed the right amount of angst into its well developed romance, there were some great plot twists and funny moments that enhanced the emotionally charged story line.

Congratulations on another fantastic release, I can’t wait to read Luca and Raven’s story now after the snippet at the end!

4 Stars!

J. Saman is back with the third standalone in the Boston Billionaire Bachelors series and y'all, what angsty, steamy, complicated little romance this was. Perfect for a sunny or rainy afternoon, Saman checks off the list for a grumpy billionaire / single dad trope paired with a strong woman who will make him weak in the heart and knees.

Landon and Elle. These two lit up my kindle the moment they landed on the page and y'all, my heart. They squeezed it in so many moments and made me want to toss my kindle in others. All the feels. All the angsty back and forth tension and banter. All the sweet and steamy heat. All of the heart there is without bursting. Landon and Elle delivered in that front.

I love myself a good billionaire romance and J. Saman delivered that and then some with this beauty. I cannot wait for more rich men and the strong women who make them fall hard from this author.

I can totally recommend this book.

This is part of Boston's Billionaire Bachelors Series but is read as a standalone. Only knowing one person there, Elle moved to Boston for a fresh start after her divorce from a famous golfer. She wanted to put behind her abusive marriage, her cheating sister and her blackmailing parents. She meets Landon on her first night in town and their chemistry was explosive. But their relationship began on a lie as he was not who he said he was. Imagine when your wonderful one night stand turns out to be your grumpy neighbor. And to make matter's even more complicated you're his daughter's new teacher. Landon is also a broken person who suffers from guilt over his wife's death and he has no room for love or forever. This is an enemy to lovers romance that's a slow burn. A story of love, healing and forgiveness. A beautiful story that's hard to put down once you start reading. Well written with amazing characters. Some of who you'll known if you've read the first two books in the series. Landon is a wonderful father to his precious daughter Stella. A good reason with no cliffhanger and an HEA. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review.

I am so hooked on the Abbott-Fritz family! This family is looked upon as Boston 's royal family. This family has everything or one would think being who they are but love is something that no amount of money can buy. Landon Abbott-Fritz is a handful of a man but he is the most reserved of the bunch. He is a single father for his thirteen year old daughter, Stella. He is a widow that doesn't feel that moving forward is an option for him. Until he meets Elle on his 'one night stand' night. Elle is newly divorced, comes with her own baggage, but she is ready for a new start when she arrives in Boston. A fantastic story, that sucked me in from the first page as these wonderful characters continue to surprise, entertain and make me fall in love with them with each book. I cannot wait for Luca and Raven. Enjoy!
