Texas Hotline #11

The Unlucky Bride Rescue

Rate this book
A Texas Ranger who’s secretly married, the award-winning chef who calls it quits and leaves him, and the search and rescue program that puts their hearts back on a collision course… It’s not easy being a Texas Ranger; Seven Colburn is living proof of that. He can tell anyone who wants to listen about the long hours, constant danger, mediocre pay, and number of marriages that don’t survive his choice of careers, including his own. When an anonymous donor pays his tuition at the prestigious Texas Hotline Training Center, he jumps at the opportunity to bury his heartache in a new challenge. Only to discover his wife has accepted the position of head chef at the same training center. Tiffany Colburn’s mother warned her not to marry her favorite Texas Ranger on Friday the thirteenth, but did she listen? No. Number one, she’s not the superstitious nut her mother is. Number two, it was the only day she and Seven could take off from work at the same time. A little over a year later, however, they’re living apart, pretending they don’t know each other, and contemplating divorce. Maybe her mother wasn’t so wrong, after all. When the first blackmail letter arrives, Seven realizes his scholarship donor has a more diabolical plan in mind than simply funding his summer training. Since the contents of the letter affect his wife as much as him, he’s forced to break his silence with her. Teaming up against a common enemy rekindles a spark between Seven and Tiffany they thought was gone forever, making them realize their latest run of bad luck might actually be a second chance at love in disguise.

Another fantastic addition to this wonderful series! Mystery, suspense, secrets, true love and an adventure!

He was devastated when she walked out the door and he really wasn't sure why. He knew his life as a Texas Ranger took him away a lot, but he had been saving to be able to train to work with the Disaster City Search and Rescue. But then he gets a threatening note meant for his wife and everything changes!

She had been trying to hide a big secret from him, and although she loved him, she felt terrible. Now it seems it will all come out and all is not as it seemed! He will protect her and maybe together they can find out what is happening!

Really great story and looking forward to the next!

The Unlucky Bride Rescue is one of Jo Grafford's best Search and Rescue books. When Seven gets accepted to go to the Disaster City Search & Rescue training facility with his dog Goliath, he is on cloud 9, or he should be except his wife Tiffany has just served him separation papers, cleaned his bank account out, and walked out on him. Seven loves Tiffany with all his heart and he can see where the Texas Ranger job did keep him away from home way too much for their first year of marriage.

When he gets to the Search and Rescue facility and finds out that there is a crime involving the chef at the facility, he has to help being a Texas Ranger and he calls his ex-Texas Ranger friend East, now a private detective, in to assist. But to get East to help him, he has to accept to become a partner in his private detective company. The mystery heightens and the number of criminals showing up at the Search and Rescue facility taking over as employees is an overwhelming proposition to figure out. Seven and East decide they can save the chef and help the FBI to arrest the criminals all while figuring out the crime behind the takeover.

I received a ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

Things have been difficult between Texas Ranger Seven Colburn and his wife Tiffany. He had no idea that she was in financial trouble and that believed that a separation would give her time to take care of her finances and keep her troubles from him. He is attending the Disaster City Search and Rescue Academy for training with his K9 Goliath, not knowing that she will be working there as a chef. He knows that he has given too much to his job and not enough to her and their marriage, but is it really too late for them? When he learns about the debt and who she owes, he realizes that he may have been the target all along. With the assistance of a good friend, he becomes aware of the intricate plot for revenge against him and others, but with Tiffany still in danger, will he be able to eliminate the threat before it is too late? I thought I would be reading a “romance in trouble” story, but I truly enjoyed the suspense and danger that followed. A very interesting twist by the author. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation, for an honest review, from the author. (paytonpuppy)

Seven and Tiffany Colburn are already married when this book begins. However, Seven has agreed to sign their separation agreement -- under duress, and Tiffany is walking out the door.

After she goes, Seven finds Tiffany's note that says she emptied out their savings account. That was the money Seven had hoped to use for Disaster City Search and Rescue Academy, but then he's awarded a full scholarship even though he didn't apply for one.

Tiffany has just graduated from culinary school, and now she has been hired as the Chef for the Disaster City Search and Rescue Academy. Seven is relieved to learn that he'll soon be in the same location as Tiffany and he's hopeful he can win her back. That's before he inadvertently intercepts an invitation for Tiffany. That starts a mystery that won't be solved until the FBI and a private security company get involved, but it also means that Seven has to sign divorce papers.

This is a clean, fast-paced read with fun characters along with humor, intrigue and romance.

Love the Disaster City Search and Rescue series of books but this one is a little different in that this time, the main characters are already married! However, as the story begins, Tiffany is walking out the door to begin the legal separation of that marriage to Seven! Seven is blindsided and heartbroken! He has no idea what is happening and how they got to this point. Tiffany got in deep trouble without Seven knowing about it and she can't share it, so she has to leave. Since Seven is a Texas Ranger though, he sets out to find out what happened. There is a lot of action, of course! FBI moles, loan sharks, a curmudgeon grandpa, a superstitious mother-in-law, a devastating fire, and a huge dog name Goliath! Something for everyone! Loved, loved this story and all the characters! The epilogue was amazing too!

The Unlucky Bride Rescue

This is another good installment to the Disaster City Search and Rescue series. Seven is a Texas Ranger who is married to Tiff. He comes home one day to find her with bags packed and telling him she is leaving. She presents him with legal separation documents. She has gotten tangled up with the wrong people and they are milking her financially and threatening her. She takes a job at the DCSRA as their head chef unbeknownst to Seven. Seven had applied to the DCSRA several months before she walked out but had postponed it to keep from leaving Tiff for a month. Now she is gone he can go if he can find the funding. Then comes the shocking realization that there is more going on than a troubled marriage. What happens when they both end up in jeopardy?

Jo Grafford really put some effort into coming up with a unique story in her book, The Unlucky Bride! It’s nothing like the title sounds-maybe a little 🫤? Far, far from it! Well, of course, Jo doesn’t write meh books! Lol 😂 This one really has a great angle and it’s characters are so relatable! From start to finish I was rooting our couple, Seven and Tiffany on, to make it through their trials and make their marriage work. It’s totally obvious that they are madly in love with each other but a criminal mastermind has gotten her hooks in Tiffany without either one of them being aware of the fact. It’s so interesting how it’s all revealed, while they are at the Search and Rescue Training Center…if I say much more, then I may give away the big secrets! I don’t want to do that to y’all! 🥹. You must buy this book and read it for yourself! It’s g-r-e-a-t!! 🥰🥰🥰

Loved Seven and Tiffany's story!! They've been married for a year, and Seven is blindsided when Tiffany tells him he either signs separation paperwork or they divorce. He's heartbroken and isn't going to give up on them, though he thinks she has. Tiffany doesn't want to divorce Seven, nor does she want a separation. She's trying to protect him from the trouble she's bringing. Except, little does she know, it's all because of Seven, she's just being used as a pawn. When the trouble comes, will Seven be able to save Tiffany, and will they be able to actually make this marriage that they both want work?? Can it survive all that's going to happen??

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Another great DCSR read. This novel was one like I haven’t read before where the main characters are already married. I loved having a change in the storyline that I haven’t ever read before.
Tiffany gets herself into some financial trouble but doesn’t want to get Seven involved. Being a Texas Ranger and a cadet at the DCSR, of course Seven is able to piece information together. I love how Seven goes back to someone he knows he can trust to help protect his wife. This novel is filled with love, devotion, adventure and of course a rescue. I have loved reading this series and definitely recommend it to others.

* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Seven is a Texas Ranger and has been married to Tiffany for about a year. Tiffany has decided they need a legal separation but does not tell him why.
Unknown to Tiffany when she was dress shopping the invite and the loan for her dress came from a loan shark and criminal. This criminal has plans for Seven and is going to go through Tiffany to get to him.
Seven intercepts a message for Tiffany after he finds out she is now working for the academy he just got a scholarship to. He sets off to find Tiffany and gets his friend East involved.
Can they save her, Seven and their marriage? Grab thus marvelous book to find out. Thanks Ms. Grafford for a nice clean book.

Seven Colburn is a Texas Ranger. He spends so much time at work and, unfortunately, has been neglecting his wife, Tiffany. She is the only woman for him but because of his upbringing, he doesn't always understand the intricacies of relationships and how to maintain a healthy communication with his wife. When she brings home papers for a legal separation, he is gutted. How can this be happening? What can he do to change her mind? Before long, he realizes there is more to this story than meets the eye. Can he get to the bottom of the mystery in time to save his marriage and their lives?

This is a good addition to this series. It is a clean, wholesome story with a happy ending.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Persistent Love

Tiffany is leaving Seven Colburn, Texas Ranger. He pleads with her to stay, but she leaves. Really, she is protecting him from a ruthless loan shark who is threatening her and Seven. He only found out a month later that she was in deep trouble. Both are at the Texas Hotine Training Center. She is the chef, he is a search and rescue student. They find themselves in the middle of an elaborate plan to get revenge on Seven for the death of a family member. His friend East Whitlock gets involved. This is a story of never giving up on a relationship and love that seems hopeless, making changes that fit, and making a life that is filled with love. I totally enjoyed it.

Tiffany has dug herself into a problem so deep that she sees the only way out is to leave the husband she loves, Seven. Seven is devastated at her leaving and extremely upset when he discovers Tiffany has taken their savings, money he was planning to use to pay for his tuition to the Disaster City SAR training facility with his dog, Goliath. An unexpected scholarship for Seven and a great job opportunity for Tiffany… but is it just a coincidence or is it something more sinister? This is a great addition to the rescue series and I thank Jo Grafford for the opportunity to read an ARC of the book.

I loved all the action in this romantic suspense book about Tiffany and her husband, Seven, who is a Texas Ranger. I highly recommend this book. After being married a year, Tiffany filed separation papers and gave Seven no reason. She graduated from culinary school and is getting a job as the head chef at the Disaster Rescue Center where unknown to her, Seven is starting a month long training program there. When they both find out they are at the same place, they learn that they are both in danger over a man Seven had arrested in the past. The characters are exciting and it is a book that is hard to put down. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Seven and a tiff’s story is one of truth, secrets and forgiveness. They have been married about a year when Tiff files or legal separation. Seven, who is a Texas Ranger can’t wrap his head around why his wife would want that. Her story and the truckload of secrets she’s been carrying around starts to unravel and it’s up to seven to try to show his wife how much he loves her and that they can rebuild based on honesty and trust. This book was so good with the suspense and twists I was shocked to read. This is another great story by Jo Gifford! I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow! Jo knows how to up the ante sky high on this Unlucky Bride. Could. Not. Stop. Reading. What starts off looking like a garden variety scam quickly morphs into a major federal investigation showing him his wife was not really the target. No spoilers here, but let’s just say I’m sooo glad that the love they had was able to withstand all the assaults on it. This book had a lot in it; fraud, deception, revenge, sabotage, fires, murders and even a giant Doberman called Goliath who loves Tiffany like she’s his mama.
I received this as a ARC and as it’s her last in the combined series she went out with guns blazing -literally. Squeaky clean romance with lots of action and suspense.

Seven Colburn has fallen into a rut. He only realizes though when his wife walks out with a separation decree.
Tiffany Colburn is lost and doesn't know what to do until she finds her husband at the one place she doesn't suspect him.
Fun and exciting book. You don't need to read other stories in this series to know whats going on. Sweet and clean suspense book. Well written with enough suspense to keep you hooked. Didn't see the last surprise fully only partially.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book

Good clean book.
Great characters and intense storyline.
Seven Colburn’s wife, Tiffany, has left him and he’s heart broken.
Unknown to Seven, Tiffany is in deep with a loan shark. She figures she can at least keep him safe if she leaves him.
Will Seven be able to protect Tiffany and save his marriage? Will the authorities be able to take down the loan shark?

The Unlucky Bride Rescue contains a very interesting, unexpected plot twist! This is a great series and the books are always fascinating. I loved Seven's and Tiffany's story from the beginning. The characters are great - including the dogs! Seven and Tiffany have some issues they need to address but she leaves him. When he arrives at Disaster City he finds Tiffany is the head chef. This well written book had me on the edge of my seat until I reached the end!

Seven is a Texas Ranger. It's hard to balance his career with his marriage. He is devastated when his wife, Tiffany, leaves. Tiffany has been the victim of a financial scheme and leaves to protect Seven. They both end up at the Search and Rescue Academy. She is a chef and he is a student. They have to keep up the pretense of being separated on the verge of divorce in order to catch the thief.

I really enjoy this series. Tough men and women and the dogs that they work with.

Seven Colburn is a Texas Ranger and he loves his job. But he also has wanted to train at Disaster City Search and Rescue Academy.

Tiffany (Seven's wife) has been going to culinary school to be a chef. But money is tight and Tiffany went to a loan shark and is now in big trouble because she missed a payment.

Will Tiffany get the loan shark paid off or will Seven end up paying the price for her secret?

A great book. It's always great to see familiar faces at DCSRA.

Oh my goodness! Every book in the series is potentially my favorite until the next one comes out. The Unlucky Bride Rescue has a complexity missing in previous books. True love puts the other person first, and that’s exactly what we see in this book. Seven and Tiff are so busy trying to spare each other that they are both miserable. The lengths they are willing to go to protect are inspiring. It’s a fast paced story with multiple layers. Don’t miss it!

Really Great Series

I'm really enjoying this series, the stories and the characters. I loved Tiffany and Seven's story. These two have a difficult first year of marriage that leads to a legal separation. Things have become more sinister than Tiffany could have imagined. Their story is full of intrigue as well as romance. A captivating read.

Another great little book!!

I sure do love the heroes in this series. You just can't beat the combination of a good guy, a wonderful dog, and a lady that loves her man enough to try to give him up because she thought it would be better for him. Add in several surprising twists along the way and you've got a winner of a book! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.
