So much was happening for Kelly and her three best friends in the summer of 1983. A celebration of another year with a thriving hair salon, a proposal, a new love, and a kidnap.
When four girls from Yorkshire, set out on a weekend away to Wales, to celebrate the engagement of Jack and Laura, they had no idea their world would be turned upside down.
An investigation takes place in a small Welsh village, where crime never happens and a story becomes national news.
Wow what a book! I couldn’t put this down. Straight away I feel in love with the characters, the girls and the families. I felt like I was one of the girls tagging along on the Hen do. When things started to happen within the cottage; it left me thinking; constantly guessing who did that; it really could of been anyone. So many twists and turns; I absolutely loved how it turned out and who the suspects were! Genius. I love Kelly and Aiden, Aiden really is a gentleman. I would love to of hear a bit more of their love story
In all honestly I have enjoyed the book but realllly wish there was just more to it. I feel like it was rushed and some aspects could have been developed to enhance the suspense. The setting was great and a perfect scene for a gripping thriller 🏚
The plot itself was great and I really didn’t see the reveal coming, I had a slight idea about the mystery boyfriend thing but didn’t put all the pieces together at all.
I liked Kelly’s character and the fact that I recognised some of the places mentioned throughout the book. I would have liked to have more of an epilogue, it all ended quite suddenly for me and I’m not one for imagining what could be, I want to be told 😂 Aiden sounds like a dream boat 👀👀
Overall, Lucy should be proud of this as a debut! Would recommend for a quick, easy to read thriller!
Solid mystery story. Echoes of the Scream franchise if it was more focused on the characters and story, rather than horror. At one point I was worried it would do the obvious thing, but the twist was satisfactory and the book sticks the landing.
Absolutely loved this book from start to finish! Jennifer was my favourite. I wished it had gone on for longer. Very descriptive which I love. I have a vivid imagination and this really helped picture things, scenes, scenarios etc xx
