America’s newest enemy launches an audacious plan to incapacitate the country. A never-before-seen danger is about to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public. And the world faces a crisis unlike any before.
Can intelligence analyst Haley put the puzzle together in time from the safety of her office - or is she meant to risk it all as a field asset? Is Axe, a former Navy SEAL, capable of overcoming a foe with nothing to lose?
The clues are cleverly hidden. The threats are terrifying. And the stakes have never been higher. For the USA, the world, Axe, and Haley.
They are on their own, in deep, and desperate. All they have is each other, their dedication, and their skills… but will that be enough to prevent death and destruction?
As a kid, I wanted to be a writer. After several fun careers, I've finally realized that dream.
It's both easier and more difficult than I thought it would be. When the words are flowing, it's miraculous. I feel like I'm taking dictation, typing the words that are meant to be written.
When the ideas don't come, I go for a run, think about what I would love to read, then start again.
Little by little, stories take shape, characters get into trouble, work their way out, and a book gets written.
Now, with over 17,000 5-star reviews of my books, I feel incredibly blessed that people enjoy my stories.

When not writing, I'm an avid hiker and photographer. I love getting out in nature to take pictures.
The only weak thing about these books are the titles. Otherwise, the plotting, action, character development and dialogue are all excellent. This latest novel is big and deftly covers a lot of ground, literally and figuratively. Excited for the next book.
It was meant to be a fairly simple – albeit covert – missions. Axe would break into a Mexican cartel’s mansion, rescue the American nurse being held kidnapped there and with Kelton driving the getaway boat the three of them would return to America, safe and undiscovered. As Axe and Hayley know all too well – the only easy day was yesterday.
I have absolutely loved the first two books in this series – A Team Of One and A Team Of Two – and so I had very high expectations for this third book. I was not disappointed. This is quickly growing to be both my new favourite author and series.
While I do feel this book can be read by itself, I admit to having a stronger and quicker emotional connection to the team members and small cast of characters because of the previous installments. I don’t feel they would be necessary to read to thoroughly enjoy this book, though I can see sooner or later the weight of these life altering situations and the shared history will mean readers will need some of the background knowledge and not simply be able to pick up anywhere in the series. We’re not there yet – but I can see that might occur sometime soon.
Similarly to the previous two books I loved that this is a fast paced, action oriented adventure and mystery story. There is a giant plot going on overhead, with a number of working parts and links. I was pleased this time – unlike in the second book – we learn more about the big picture as Haley and Axe do and I think this helped give the plot and momentum of the story a more linear feel to it. I admit I prefer this style of storytelling and while the back and forth of the second novel is still good, my preference is the style shown in this and the first book.
The characters are believable and relatable. While Hayley is almost preternaturally smart and Axe unbelievably brave and focused, I could relax and just go with the flow on these points when really I don’t necessarily need a real-life type of person in my adventure and espionage style stories. We want our heroes to be larger than life. Axe was certainly in dangerous situations and Hayley had to work hard to analyse her data and put the puzzle together, but we do want them to get there in the end before the bad guy wins.
I feel readers who are happy with action paced, fast moving and addictive stories where it’s clear from the beginning that the good guy will win – they’ll just need to work for it – then this should be a book right up your alley. With plenty of action and adventure, a solid plot that grows and expands and some very memorable characters this was a brilliant read and one I will happily be adding to my keeper shelf. I can’t wait for more of this series and author. Recommended.
Sleeper Cells and Spiked Beer This book is the third in a series that should be read in order. There are ongoing story arcs that change with each book. This series revolves around intelligence analysts and former SEALS. Our main characters often end up doing clandestine work that could be compared to the Mission: Impossible series. The plot is very twisted with the main focus changing as they address one issue and uncover another. The stories are pretty clean. There is no bad language and intimacy is generally implied rather than on screen. There is violence and some blood, but not the stuff nightmares are made of.
Each of the growing stories gets more and more intriguing. Pull from current events, these plots are what-ifs should events take a turn into a parallel universe. The action is real edge of seat stuff with sometimes "magic" talents saving the day. My only issue is repetition of risks of discovery impacting the president. We get the situation is unique and fragile, but don't need it every other chapter.
The book started with a reasonable story and ended with a fantasy. The underlying theme of ‘don’t mess with the united states of America’ is unapologetic patriotism. Unfortunately the story is in stark contrast to the reality of the United States as a political mess currently lead by a convicted felon. Maybe that was one of the unstated aims of the story?
The team grows and so do the stakes. As Haley fashions an acronym for the team the threat grows and so does the intelligence analysis arm. With the record of success comes the trust they need to unravel the threads to support WIA. A good series I look forward to continuing to read.
It was that good, I didn't stop It's not exactly deep and meaningful, it's not exactly light and fluffy, but it is very fast paced, action packed and enjoyable It gets a tad far fetched at times, but I am finding many authors doing this recently, so much so it's almost the norm Hopefully more to come
These books just keep getting better and better!!!!! My only concern is who would play Hailey in the movie, her looks, her brains, her figure, her looks, her looks, her looks…..Ok I am repeating myself, see she has us all ga ga over her and we haven’t even seen her yet. On to 4!!!!!!
The first two books in this series were fantastic. This one not so much. Great plot line, but the story seemed forced and it felt like Captain Obvious wrote portions of the book. Not bad overall, the story saved the writing, but I hope Mr. Lee is able to get back on course with the next book in the series.
Brad Lee has authored a real winning series. Good Strong characters & plots right out the headlines. I, for one, look forward to reading more Halley, Axe & Hammer adventures.
Spellbinding from the beginning to the end. Fast paced action with an up to date plot. Can’t wait for #4 to get back in the Special Operation mindset and enjoy the adventure.
Confusing read due to all the thinking going on that appears in the speeches and conversations the characters engage with people. Understandable, but interrupted my thought train on what was an interesting concept of the Russian group.
Read 3 in last 10 days and headed to number 4 ASAP. I will be done way to soon. In a few months I will probably read the series again! WB, USAF Retired
I am still enjoying this series! Love the characters, the action and the storyline. I highly recommended they be read in order. There is a definite progression of at least one of the main characters.
Great story of three people doing good things for the good of our country. NAH do a great job of keeping our country safe. Enjoyable series of books. On to number four.
The book is an amazing change from the first two. One and two had crazy villains to push the plot forward. Three was more political and polished. I will be starting A Team of Four tomorrow.
I'm still working through this series from Brad Lee, but I'm enjoying the books, no matter how improbable the stories. I've rated this and most of the other "trade novels" that I've been reading with five stars because I enjoy reading them. Lee's are thankfully almost typo-free, which is more than I can say for others I've been reading. It seems like these samizdat publishers don't assign editors, or at least very good ones. Even a copy editor would improve some of the others' books.
Best of the series so far. Gripping, multi layered story where Axe and Haley were given the chance to shine as characters. Definitely felt like the most thought out, subtle plot of the series so far with interesting teases and twists.
Really enjoying the interaction with the characters on another fantastic, dangerous, intriguing undercover gig. The humor, funny, black and serious is quite entertaining.
I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that he never stops writing. His books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
I am enjoying this series like so many from more popular writers. I will read all of the books and enjoy them like I have with Clancy, Flynn, etc. Keep up the good work Brad Lee
All three Brad Lee books are terrific. I am eager for more. Hope book number four comes soon. I am thrilled I discovered these excellent Brad Lee books.
Once again the author melds all the components of story telling to a higher level. The backgrounds and technicals are accurate with strong engaging characters.
