This was solidly a cover buy. The interior art is terrible. The "story" consists of scenes that take place in the same area but seem to jump one to the other without a smooth transition. This is part of a series and there is much recapping, but there seems to be little substance to it, so I doubt they needed to waste as many panels as they did and could have done a quick "story so far" and then started this arc. Given the rates of sell outs for this series, maybe it'll make more sense for the targeted fan base.
i picked this up in november, intrigued by the queer "mature" cover art and flashy new title. after reading it, im not very impressed but i am glad theres a graphic novel on the shelf that involves a chick getting head from another chick. buuuuut beyond that theres nothing else very tangible here- im turned off by the unrealistic bodies and confusing content.

Reviewing this as book 3, the spiderland arc. The art was not as crazy as I had become accustomed to in this series. This continues the very adult dystopian fantasy, gives a few info drops but didn’t really make me feel like any real progress was made. This is like a setup vol, we need another to get the landing. Overall I enjoyed the read, lack of narration is a huge bonus as I get to be absorbed into the scene without some box trying to tell me what to think. I hope the next book comes out soon.
