Jude is twenty five and truly has no social life. She’s chosen a career as a celebrity nanny which makes it hard to find the time to date. She’s moved from Los Angeles back to her hometown of Portland, Oregon where she works for David Ferris from the world famous rock band Stage Dive. The Ferris family and their friends have been been extremely kind and welcoming to her. The band wives are even wanting to help her in the romance department, but she’s exhausted lately and hasn’t found anyone that excites her. Then Dean Jennings arrives to work on the guys latest album. As the band’s record producer they will be in close proximity for the foreseeable future. He’s alarmingly attractive and absolutely dreamy, and she believes he’s out of her league. He’s one of the hottest men in existence, but she knows she should avoid any complications. When the ladies do their best matchmaking, magic happens. Will they deny what’s between them, or will they give in to their undeniable connection?

You’re gonna find yourself diving into the story real fast. Pun intended.
Just what I needed is fast paced, cute with just the right amount of steam.
It’s a lust at first sight/ immediate attraction between Jude and Dean.
The secondary characters are none other our favourite characters from the Stage Dive series.. *BLISS*
My favourite part is the last scene. I couldn’t stop giggling.
Did I wish the book was longer? Yes! I will never get enough of these characters.

Another fab Stage Dive read. Love these guys, their partners and friends. They are fun, sweet and well, I just can't get enough of these awesome humans.

Yay, Dean, the bands record producer gets his HEA with Jude, David and Evelyn's nanny. Instant attraction and some spicy naughtiness.

If there is something the Stage Dive ladies love to do, it is meddling in match making. Jude is the nanny for Evelyn and David. She lives on site and loves all the fun & perks that come with her job. She has a great relationship with Evelyn, Lena and Ann. She loves how they include her in their circle and how openly they discuss anything and everything.

Jude has been single for a while and when Dean Jennings, the band’s Producer, arrives to stay for a few weeks, she happily agrees to share the apartment she lives in on Dave & Ev’s property. It’s plenty big enough and not likely they will bump into each other much right? Recording music can be on a pretty crazy schedule. Not that she would mind bumping into Dean, he is freaking gorgeous!

‘There’s something romantic and soulful about a man who is a musician. Not even spending time around Stage Dive’s manic drummer, Malcolm Ericson, has cured me entirely of those teenage dreams.’

You might be surprised to know that it is in fact David that is the instigator of this match making project but to be honest, he really doesn’t need to help them out too much. There is an instant attraction between Jude and Dean, one that they are both keen to explore. It all happens quite fast, they are both at a stage in their life where they know what they want and when you know you know right?

‘It just seems so easy to fall into life with Dean. And I don’t want to fight the pull of this happiness and contentment.’

Another fabulous addition to the Stage Dive series that left me wanting more, more more…

This was a quick read that was not only fun but steamy as well. I love when we get a chance to go back and visit the guys from Stage Dive and their lovely women, it's always fun to see what they are up to and this book is definitely about what they are up to because they are playing MATCHMAKER!

Jude is the nanny for David & Evelyn Ferris' adorable little boy and David thinks she'd be perfect for their producer Dean so he sets his plan into action.

This book can be read in just a couple of hours and I guarantee you'll love it if you're a fan of the series. Especially seeing Dean again after Lena chose Jimmy over him, it's nice to see him get his HEA after all of this time.

I would recommend this book to those that have enjoyed the STAGE DIVE SERIES, enjoy Romances with Musicians or Nanny's as the MC, Steamy Contemporary New Adult Romances, or anyone that is looking for a Hot Quick Read that hasn't explored this series yet this is a perfect way to see what all the fun is about.

Happy Reading!!!

A novella set in the Stage Dive world, this is a short and sweet story featuring extended members of the Stage Dive family, and it’s a cute read.

Jude is the Nanny for David and Evelyn (from Lick, book, #1). She lives in a small house at the rear of their property, and she loves her job, and the extended family that she’s been welcomed into. Dean is a music producer who works with the band, and also just happens to be the man that Lena dated briefly before she ended up with Jimmy in (from Lead, book, #3). While he is in town temporarily, he and Jude end up sharing the same small house, which is a potentially awkward situation considering they are instantly attracted to each other. And with their crush on full display, the Stage Dive crew are eager to dive in and ‘help’. They’re both a little wary, but it’s fun to watch these two follow their feelings and explore their chemistry.

It just seems so easy to fall into life with Dean. And I don’t want to fight the pull of this happiness and contentment.

This is a really short read, and things progress quickly. There’s a tiny bit of drama, but no time for angst, and I enjoyed how open they are with each other when it comes to figuring things out between them. And, of course, there’s even some sexy time.

It’s a cute read, with a highlight definitely being catching up with the Stage Dive crew and their families, and the epilogue with everybody together had me laughing out loud.

I enjoyed this one – 3 stars.

I love The dive stage series and I love these short stories that Kylie has wrote throughout the years because these characters deserve a long time love and story with their fans.
Jude is quirky and a great female lead that just wants to live her life and find her match as all the other friends in the crew.
Dean is the new producer of the band and while he kinda hates one of them for “stealing” his ex girlfriend, he is still there to do what he knows best and make a name for himself in the industry.
They clicked on so easy but not everything is smooth sailing as past hurting feelings are surfacing and Dean takes his time to understand and accept that his heart wants Jude.

Short, steamy and a must romance.

Just What I Needed was a fun, quick read about Jude, a Nanny to the stars, who is currently a live in nanny for a famous band member David of Stage Dive, and his wife Lena. Jude is absolutely relatable in her quirkiness, and endearing awkwardness. She’s been so involved in her live on the job/full time Nanny work for so long it’s been some time since she’s dated. So when she happens to meet her boss’s super hot music producer Dean whilst he’s half naked in the guest house she lives in, she has a serious case of insta lust paired with OMG I have no idea what the heck to say but HI. I loved how realistic that was because when I was a workaholic Nanny, I too lost most of my flirting skills and had some awkward as all heck moments like Jude!

Dean is easily to like as a love interest. Right off the bat he is really nice, communicative and gentlemanly. It’s clear there’s some serious like and lust at first sight coming from his end too! I loved the awkward tension, and comical moments as they continue to interact. It was fun to read what I call the not date they had after Jude was given some makeover fun, and pep talk help from the super sweet band ladies. I loved how all the women opened up briefly about being nervous and awkward too when getting Jude prepped for her leather pants debut! Watch out for that soy sauce next time!

Jude and Dean’s connection moves pretty fast, so this might fall under a bit of insta lust to love, so if you are into a fast acting romance this is for you! At first their chemistry is a bit easy to miss, but I think Dean loves that Jude is just entirely herself. The awkwardness, the overly honest, the clearly big hearted lady who has a special connection to kiddos. He isn’t looking for the perfection we all sometimes expect from ourselves as women, especially when we look at famous “perfect” women in the media. I really enjoyed the various mini hurdles this duo goes through, especially when the finger curling all too honest, and peppy ex Frankie drops by unannounced mid not date. The interaction with Jude is hilarious! Frankie’s persona was fun to read, and I could picture her clearly in my mind just from her ramblings to Jude. With this strange appearance of Frankie and more, Jude and Dean definitely show that their communication is on point (even after only 24-36 hours) which seems to bring them to more intimate heights and deeper connection quickly.

When things turn spicy, it’s well paced and not rushed. You get alllllll the toe curling details, which are abundant! This is no fade to black whatsoever. Their physical connection is a raging fire with praise kink for those who love it. Dean gets a high five from me, he definitely knows what he is doing and Jude knows it too! I love that both a healthy sexual connection and a feeling of safety are weaved together in these moments.

Now for my review of the audiobook! First and foremost definitely wear headphones if you’re out in public when things turn spicy😉 while reading the audiobook! You can thank me later! Narrator Andi Arndt has a great voice for Jude that translates her lovable awkward moments as well as her banter. She also has great male voices without them sounding forced. I sometimes had a hard time deciphering the female voices from another, but usually Jude was clearly different from the other fem voices. I really enjoyed the peppy voice of ex gf Frankie, it fit her character so well, and helped me picture her even more clearly in my mind. I also liked her pacing as it never sounded rushed, or lagged. I would definitely recommend the audio to bring even more depth to these characters banter, and to the emotional tone of the story.

Just What I Needed was a great afternoon quick read that had me rooting for Jude just like the women in her life. Jude and Dean were easy to root for as well, though I would have liked maybe an extra chapter or two of this duo getting to know each other more to make it feel less fast paced, and less insta love. But by no means was it not a believable connection by the end. I also loved the realistic conclusion to the story, and the brief HEA glimpse we got was so fun! Just What I Needed was endearing, and oh so relatable to me as a drummers wife. Will definitely be picking up a copy for my fellow band wives friends for Christmas.

Thank you to Brilliance Audio for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I remember that I loved the original novels back when I read them (multiple times), hence why I went and purchased the short stories a while back. Almost every one of these (I think this is the last one but it will for sure be the last one I read) has left me disappointed. This time Jude was this "I'm so boring and I have no life" all the time. Until she started to drool over Dean while constantly contemplating her lack of life. This is a spoiler but I just have to address the fact that this story plays out in the span of about 48 hours?! I mean. Yeah. Sure. Not my cup of tea.
And the epilogue? Yuck. Poor Jimmy, poor Jude. Yuck. Nuff said.

Just What I Needed de Kylie Scott serie Stage Dive libro 4.9

Argumento:

One of my favourite Rockstar series that I read years ago was Stage Dive by Kylie Scott, I am still to this day a Mal fan ( he was the drummer). Over the past year, I discovered book raffles over on Instagram where if you win, people will buy books off your wishlist and so I decided to add some of the Stage Dive Novellas that I haven't yet explored. This one was a gift from @cassiehale71. I loved it as it gave me a stroll down memory lane as Just What I Needed brought back the whole Stage Dive cast + family members. In this book, we meet Jude who is the nanny for David and Evelyn's son. She lives in their house and is now one of the family. In Just What I Needed, she is about to get her music HEA as she meets music producer Dean Jennings who has come to work on a new Stage Dive album. Jude has never dated a musician or anyone remotely famous before and is not their "type" but can Dean prove to Jude she is exactly his type and not his ex Frankie who turns up and gate-crashes their sushi date? Find out in this quick read novella which is also part of the 1001 Dark Nights Series which are novellas from a whole range of different authors. Just What I Needed is the perfect bite-sized read for any fans of Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series especially since it has left me wanting more which is the purpose of the 1001 Dark Night Series.

Jude enjoys working for David and Evelyn and has fit right in with the rest of the Stage Dive crew however the lifestyle doesn’t leave a lot of romance until it shows up at her door.

Dean works for the band and finds himself sharing living space with Jude while he is town. From their first meeting the sparks fly however he is cautious because of his past with the band and she wonders why a man like him would be interested in a woman like her.

Dean is charming while Jude is relatable, and they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. The rest of the band adds some humor as their attempts to matchmake may be more of hindrance than a help.

Ok I wanted to love this book don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed both Jude and Dean because hello DEAN!

I like the chemistry, the characters all of it but the timeline just did not work for me at all.

It was too quick. Now others in the 1001 dark nights in the stage dive worked, the timeline didn’t feel like a blink.

I mean we get to see all our favourite people for sure, but the Jude & Dean romance the swoon it just wasn’t there for this one.

And the narrator either needs to go back and listen to how she did the voices for the other characters she did because Mal & Anne didn’t sound like Mal or Anne, or even Jimmy or Leana.

A great return to Kylie Scott's Stage Dive world!

Lena is the nanny for one of the couples from the original series. Dean is the record producer who has come to work with the band on their new album. An unexpected connection forms between them and it was fun watching them fall for one another. The book is a novella but doesn't feel rushed and it fits well into the series. I also really liked getting to see favorite characters from the series and what they are up to now.

This one was cute. I liked how all the bandmembers and their mates were determined to set up Jude, the nanny, with the record producer, Dean. Jude was so awkward at the start you couldn't help but laugh and feel sorry for her. I was glad when she got out of that stage. I was also surprised by how frank both of them were with talking about things and only knowing each other for a couple days. The ending had me laughing, loved how Dean wanted to make sure Jude was over her crush on Jimmy and everyone was there to help.

A huge plus about not only Just What I Needed, but really all the 1001 Dark Nights novellas that Kylie has added to this series is that they make excellent points of entry to the series if you haven’t read it before or if you’re all together new to Kylie’s work. However, with this particular story, in my humble opinion, it would enhance your reading experience and help you understand Dean a bit better if you first read Lead (book 3 in the series). That’s just an opinion and honestly, I read Lead so long ago that I don’t really remember too many details! LOL

Anywho! An excellent plot-point in this story is Dean’s ex and how Kylie made the choice to not be cliché with it and overly dramatic but instead chose to use it but put very little drama behind it. I CANNOT SING PRAISES TO THIS ENOUGH!! lol Very refreshing and made me happy! Honestly, the whole story made me happy with its low angst meter overall! It’s a pretty quick one so don’t blink but highly satisfying!

3.5 stars. Just What I Needed is a cute Stage Dive novella featuring Jude, David and Ev's nanny, and Dean, the band's music producer. Jude lives in the Ferris's guest house but she doesn't have much of a personal life beyond her job as a nanny. When Dean comes to town to work with the band on an album, he stays in the guest house at well. The two feel an attraction when they meet, but Jude doesn't have much confidence because Dean has dated supermodels in the past. Still, he is interested and they get together and begin dating.

This was a light, quick read. Jude and Dean's story felt a little easy without a lot of depth. I liked them, but they didn't have a ton of chemistry and I wondered if they would have gotten together if it wasn't so convenient. Still, this story was entertaining and a fun dip back into the Stage Dive world. I love this series and I'll read any books to come from it and from Ms. Scott in the future.

It's been a while since I've read any of the Stage Dive books, but I loved slipping back into this world. A quick read involving the nanny and the producer that has a delightful build. We're not quite at insta-love, but the lust side of things is there. Thanks to some meddling friends, they're pushed to address the way they feel and it's just a delight from there. We got some delightful heat and just the right amount of heart to make it feel real. I hope we see them in future Stage Dive books!

This book was just what I needed!!

Jude is the nanny for David and Ev Ferris son, Jameson. What she doesn't know is that her employers are about to set her up with music producer, Dean Jennings. When they end up sharing the guest house, the close proximity ramps up the chemistry. Will Jude's lack of dating experience and Dean's ex cause them issues? I just love delving back into the Stage Dive world and Kylie always makes sure the read is both exciting and familiar! Can't wait to see what Kylie writes next!

I loved Jude. I related with her so much (coffee, please). Dean comes in town and they're forced to stay in the same house. Their story is short but it's full of chemistry and a smidgen of drama and lots of heat. It's wrapped us nicely and I enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!

I enjoyed this book. It like how Jude was always included in the band members life and treated like family.

I enjoyed Jude and Dean’s interactions and learned about each and built a relationship around them and not the band. I was happy how this book story ended.

Narrators is a good job telling this story.
