I absolutely adore this workbook series from the publishing team.
And this one lived up to my expectations.
I am someone who needs to constantly write or read and do something calming for myself using guidebooks, journals and workbooks. This workbook sure looks good for someone who needs it.
Divided into five main sections focusing on different steps regarding moving our body, thinking and meditation, knowing our self, doing things for ourselves, dreams and manifestations based on five concepts of Ikigai.
The pages are so calming and beautiful; colourful and so well presented.
I find the pages to fill well planned and spacious. The questions and the prompts provided make it really easy for me.
Absolutely recommended.
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group - Wellfleet Press, for the advance reading copy.
A great little mindfulness workbook that would probably be best purchased as a physical copy so you can highlight, take notes, and fill in activities. The artwork throughout is whimsical and very zen. Unlike other mindfulness workbooks I have completed which were divided into weekly activities, this one is separated into five states of mindfulness: Moving, Thinking, Knowing, Doing, and Dreaming. While it's not a long-term solution to remaining stress-free and less anxious, it does remind the reader to stay present in the current moment. I think the design and illustrations are the highlight of the book! Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-Wellfleet Press for the ARC.
Does this book’s cover draw you in? Are you looking for a sense of peace in our rather turbulent world? If you answer yes, you would be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic believer and guide to helping you with a mindfulness practice.
This title is divided into sections on moving, thinking, knowing, doing and dreaming. Within each are workbook activities to draw the reader/practitioner in. For example, in the book’s first activity, readers are asked to connect with their bodies and express thoughts in writing about their body parts; readers are encourage to think about gratitude for how, say a hand, works. For each activity, there are a list of what you will need to complete the activity and directions on how to try it out.
The author suggests that readers may approach this title in whatever way feels most comfortable. Some may start at the beginning and keep going while others may focus on a particular section or even just choose a random selection. Whatever way works, readers will get something from this title if they are willing to engage with it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-Wellfleet Press for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is a truly lovely workbook both in terms of appearance and content.
It is a wonderful and practical introduction to mindfulness.
It is divided into sections on moving, thinking, knowing, doing and dreaming and includes many exercises to be completed in terms of physical, mental and written tasks.
The choice is entirely up to the reader whether to work through chronologically or choose certain tasks.
I found the variety of exercises wonderful and on the whole useful. I only really struggled with the part of having a conversation with myself in the mirror, but that's maybe just me that finds that hard!
The fact that it is a workbook to be completed makes it an interactive experience which I really enjoyed. I should point out I had a digital copy to review so could not compete the pages themselves but worked alongside with a notebook which was absolutely fine.
The illustrations were perhaps my favourite thing in the workbook, they are genuinely gorgeous.
Overall I would recommend this workbook to anyone who practices mindfulness or who wants to be guided into starting.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with a digital ARC through Netgalley in order that I provide an honest review.
Find Your Peace by Kiki Ely is a workbook that took me by surprise. Mindfulness is such a big part of leading a better way of life, and now that I've found this book it has made that next step in my life that much easier to work on.
The workbook is divided into five sections, each focusing on different steps and stages regarding out mind and body. It outlines Moving, Thinking, Knowing, Doing, and Dreaming. The book has six examples, but not limited to, of how you could use the book. Two examples could be focusing on a certain section or working with a group.
I love the calm feeling of the pages, nothing to loud or distracting. There are sections for you to fill out and write down answers to questions. I would recommend this book.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review
The Find Your Peace Workbook is a true gem that provides information on how to improve your physical and mental health. This workbook is divided into 5 different sections: moving, thinking, knowing, doing, and dreaming. As explained by the author, there is no “right way” to move through this workbook. Within each of the 5 sections of the workbook, there are exercises to complete. Some of the exercises in the moving section included the following: connecting to your body, mirror movements, stretching and there are many more. The book was beautiful, with colorful illustrations and lettering. I highly recommend this workbook. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.
Find Your Peace is an interactive workbook that encourages users to go within. The prompts and visualizations are detailed and allow readers to think and see things from another perspective. The illustrations and colors used in this book also made the experience very calming.
There were parts in the beginning that I couldn't connect to, but I would still recommend this book for others looking to practice mindfulness. This is a great workbook to keep on hand, whether you’d like to practice it all at once or take your time in between. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Like others in the series this book is full of exercises to help you connect with yourself, figure out your values and what guides you, figure out how to cope with things that make you anxious or get in the way of your peace and figure out your purpose and goals in life. There are many many different exercises so at least one is bound to appeal to anyone who is on a journey to find and cultivate more peace in their lives. Each exercise is relatively short and impactful. Recommended.
with gratitude to edelweiss and quarto group for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a cute little workbook!
There are short prompts and activities throughout the book to be more mindful. There's some information about what mindfulness is and why being mindful is important. There's a variety of prompts based on different scenarios to help you get to know yourself and slow down. I think I was expecting something a little different or more focused, but some of the activities are nice.
Absolutely beautiful content that instantly makes you feel at peace. So much so that a digital version doesn't seem to do it justice. I will be going out and buying physical copies of these books so I can really commit to the exercises and really see the illustrations etc. Would highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to take carw of themselves mentally. Its a great book for those moments where you really just need to take time out for yourself
Thank you Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review
This nifty book is well designed and user friendly, with lots of helpful exercises to help you find some peace. This has been very thoughtfully put together, and while I haven't tried all the exercises yet, the ones I've tried have been rewarding (not mentioning which I've tried, don't want to influence anyone else's choices). Will this book cure your every ill? Probably not, but it will help you connect to some of that sweet, elusive peace we all crave.
This book is just perfect. I work at a bargain outlet store, and we just so happened to get it in, and I feel like the universe sent it to me. I have been looking for something like this all my life. The usual journal prompts online just never do it for me, but this book is perfectly guided, and wonderful for self exploration. I really needed this, thank you <3
I have read and gone through lots of books in this series/in this style now - and they are all fab, and I get a lot from them. This book really focusses on mindfulness, and grounding and just getting into your body. All things that are important - however not entirely up my street - I still enjoyed it though.
