My Thoughts:

I needed a cold shower after reading this. 😅

I hate to admit it, but I really enjoyed this fanfic! The story is 95% smut and 5% plot, but there's so much sexual tension and build-up that the pacing/progression of the Dramione relationship felt natural.

The sexy scenes are incredibly HOT! Great writing. Very descriptive. Some kinks (light dom/sub) but nothing cringe-worthy.


100% recommend. Read this for a good time! 😉

|Thoughts|
Whilst I was more invested in the first part of the story, still enjoyed it overall. There is always just something so great about these two together.

“Draco Malfoy was her own secret little sexual fantasy, and she hated herself for it because she knew she was being so unprofessional about her little crush”

There is a slight issue of consent here as both Hermione and Draco are feeling the effects of a love potion gone wrong. However, it’s clear early on that their attraction is mutual and predates the potion.

“He wore glasses. It was as simple as that”

As my buddy read partner pointed out, it does have a touch of omegaverse lore thrown in there.

“Draco Malfoy does not share, Granger. Especially when it comes to you”

This story is very much more focused on the spice that plot. However, it worked in this context given the potion and the already established Wizarding World.

“You have no fucking idea how hard all of this is for me, love”

The additional of flashbacks to their time working together was also spot on.

“I real man wouldn’t tell you he liked your skirt. He would just keep quiet, appreciate it from afar and hope that one day there might be a more appropriate time to bring it up”

This was one of the hottest Dramione fanfics I’ve ever read. It’s heavy on the smut, but it still has somewhat of a plot, with meaningful conversations, glimpses into their past, and a whole lot of tension. The care Draco takes for Hermione is the biggest highlight.

The first half was an easy 5-star read. The second half didn’t hit as hard, but it still remained both spicy and tender.

What stood out the most was the emphasis on consent. Every time Draco asked for permission, took control, or Hermione pushed back, it felt incredibly rewarding.

I might add, it feels very omegaverse-y. And I'm here for it.

I really didn't like the characterization of either Draco or Hermione, and I didn't particularly like the writing either. It reminded me of a first time author's work, or a poorly done YA novel.

It seemed immature and overly done. Despite them each being in their early thirties, they acted like teenagers. I get it, this story is smut central, porn without plot, but I've read Dramione masterpieces and this is at the bottom of the list.

Not for me. A lot of potential and a great idea, but the execution wasn't well done.

I don't read a lot of Auror Hermione and Draco fanfic because it's not really a trope I love reading, but this was probably one of my favorite Auror partner concepts. This was fun and steamy, and the plot was entertaining. I also liked Ada_P_Rix's characterization of Hermione and Draco's work dynamic. I've read this author before, but I preferred this one to Broom Cupboard Etiquette 101. Will definitely check out more from this writer in the future!

Really enjoyed this. Fun quick and spicy read. however, I didn’t really get that this was Draco and Hermione. This could have been any couple to be honest. They’re characters didn’t really feel cannon. I missed her brutal intelligence and know it all attitude and his snooty comebacks. I usually love their banter in any good Dramione fanfic and this just didn’t hit those notes for me.

Loved the spice! So much fun. The little tease of Dom Draco left me wanting tho!

Biggest pet peeve tho: the “god” and “Jesus” they kept saying. Going back to the lack of cannon in Draco and Hermione’s characters, they don’t say that! Ever! Especially Draco. Hermione I might let it slide, cuz she’s muggle-born but NEVER Draco….

🚨Summary🚨

Hermione gets doused with a drug-potion that makes her, and all men around her, horny, so she’s taken to the hospital where she has to stay for 48 hours. Which, obviously, makes everything much harder to control. Draco, the great Occlumens, thinks he can stay with her to make sure she’s safe and things are under control.

Except they’ve both been pining for each other for years as Auror partners.

It starts relatively controlled, with Draco constantly asking for consent (which at first is kind of cute, but at some point it’s like… okay, you can drop it now, just touch her hip). Things get progressively hotter, but also more confusing for Hermione, because she keeps telling herself it’s just the pheromones and not him actually thinking clearly (major All You Want Omegaverse flashbacks, ngl).

At some point, he starts admitting he’s been interested in her for years, right after hearing her say she wants to be his while he’s falling asleep. But again, Hermione pins this on the pheromones and her own earlier confession.

Once the 48 hours are over, they both go home. She says thank you, leaves, and immediately regrets not being braver. Draco, however, shows up at her place the same day and basically goes wtf, how could you only say thanks when now I have you in my blood. They finally talk (without pheromones involved) say what they’ve both been holding back, and promise each other forever

I loved this so much!

The sexual tension was SO WELL DONE, and very well written. The forced proximity trope in this was so good. The smut was amazing and so hot (wasn't expecting the somnophilia kink 😩). Draco is a consent king and he did it in such a sexy way. Spice level 3 because it's so frequent and descriptive.

“I need to fill you, Hermione.” He told her against her hair as he rutted. “Right inside of you... pump you full until you can’t even hold it.”

I felt so connected to the emotions that were portrayed and I enjoyed Draco's secret pining. The little flashbacks to show you how Draco and Hermione interacted or felt about each other at their office job were great. I loved the balance between the spicy scenes and 'plot'.

Overall, a fantastic read if you want lots of smut but with some pining plot elements too.

I was still in the mood to read more Auror Draco and when I was looking through the results of that particular tag, I found Break For Me. I’d already read Ada_P_Rix’s The Erised Effect and since I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to check out more from her and Break For Me gave me the perfect opportunity to do that while also meeting my current “give me Auror Draco Malfoy right now” needs. Break For Me was just as sexy and hot as The Erised Effect and I had a really good time reading this! It’s not all just sexiness though, Draco was not only super sweet, but the way he and Hermione felt about each other was so sweet too. It was excellent and left me feeling so warm and with a smile on my face!

I didn't buy Draco's characterization. I think you could replace the names with literally any others and this would work, which means there's not enough in the characters to make them differentiated.

Goodness gracious. THIS WAS INSANELY GOOD. I can’t believe I’ve read three Dramione fan fics now and they’re all amazing in their own ways. I can’t even believe that this was smut as smut can be but dang, the way it was written? Everything was perfect and how Draco managed to say and do all the right things is beyond me. Like yes, please. I’ve never read anything quite like this that’s why I’m stunned. I didn’t know that fics can be this wonderfully written. It also isn’t just about smut, there 👏was 👏also 👏plot, people and I loved it 100%! I think I’m obsessed with this version of Draco. Ugh. This will surely live in my mind, for who knows how long. Oh and another thing, consent is ALWAYS sexy.

I expected the tension and the endless smut, but I did not expect the angst and romance. The interjection of love and passion was steammy and handled well. This is a hot love story. I love the mutual pining and domineering draco with glasses is everything.

Though, I have mixed feelings about the potion and her not being in her right mind while they are both involved in physical activities. It felt rapey at first and it was a bit uncomfortable, but the ending kind of made up for it? I mean, I don't know if draco being described as not a scumbag equates to him being a gentlemen? I do admire him for his strength though and how protective he is of her.

This one was ok, I guess.. I mean there wasn’t really a Dramione aspect to it- the leads could have been any random couple and it could still have worked. Also, the tags on this book were rated as “smut with no plot”. But that was not true… since a bulk of the story comprised of the build up, and the slow burn, and it took FOREVER before the leads actually got around to doing the deed. Also, this version of Draco was very boring- there was no sass or snark in his personality.
Overall, a very average ho-hum book. Giving it 2.5 stars but rounding up to 3 since Goodreads doesn’t do half stars.

This was like made for me. Sufficiently slow burn, but still progressed all the time. In some points consent was repested unnecessarily often.

Nothing actually happened in the story, and there wasn't really a plot. I don't often like smut that has no plot at all. Now I didn't miss it at all. The whole story was built on the development of Draco and Hermione's feelings and chemistry.

95% smut, 5% plot - it’s the perfect spicy pallet cleanser in between longer books or Dramione fanfics. I read this directly after Manacled and it was the exact, light, spicy follow up my heart needed.
