He was treated harshly by his environment, and no one was ever nice to him. But as long as there was such a person, a corner of the curtain would be opened for the person in the cage. Then, a person like him would also find the light. This was an animal’s instinct, a desire to survive.
Su Beimo was a beam of light, opening the door of the ‘prison’.
It was him who saved Liao Nanqing, who had been living with an inferiority complex.
absolutely didn't expect such heavy thing to happen so near the ending but my tears were free falling and it influenced my judgement 3 lnq deserves the best, my poor baby :<
A very sweet, but heartbreaking love story. There were many times where I teared- most was learning about how the “future” would’ve turned out if they hadn’t gone back, and other times reading the backstories of most of the characters lol. I started reading this expecting a cute, slice of life slowburn, but like all time travel/rebirth stories it ended in tears- but don’t worry, there is a happy ending!! + The friendship between the characters is cute, just as cute as all the romantic relationships.
A simple encounter turned in to a lifetime love story. Their bond is really heartwarming and admirable. The focus is more on Ling Nanqing’s personal journey to healing, in much part with the help of Su Beimo. They naturally connect with one another and become closer over time, and are open and honest in their feelings for one another. We alternate often between their perspectives, so much so that I would say they both are the main character of this story. If you love fluff, there is no end to it here. If you seek angst, you’ve also found it here.

Idk... I feel like the writing was not on par with the heaviness of the topics it dealt with. I really did not like it. The topics are not something I can skim over or accept easily to be treated this way. It fell short for me.
