Does this sound familiar? But... Fertility Medicine is at a crossroads. Women are unwilling to wait any longer for a viable and gentle method in which to try to conceive. The time is now, and the future depends on making good healthy choices for conception, pregnancy, and motherhood. Jennifer Mercier, ND, PhD, Midwife, has transformed how we think about women's pelvic health. In this book, she shares her personal stories of Endometriosis and Hashimoto's, pregnancy loss and healthy pregnancies. She explains how and why she founded Mercier Therapy and we hear from couples who have had great success with it. If you're ready to go on a personal journey deep into the realms of infertility and make informed choices about the least invasive ways to conceive, then you have arrived at the right place.

I requested this book as an interlibrary loan from my public library based on positive Amazon reviews; people were raving about Dr. Mercier and so I was curious to hear what she has to add to the fertility space. It is great that she is out there doing her work and I know there is a need for it.

The book was not very helpful to me. I had hoped for concrete advice for self-help methods to improve fertility, and found that beyond generalities available elsewhere, it all came down to "see a Mercier Method clinician."

So, I was disappointed. It felt like an ad for her services. However, she has inspired me to use the Mayan Abdominal Massage self-care techniques that a practitioner previously taught me. I'm grateful she reminded me of the power of massage for infertility.

This book is perfect for the couple struggling with infertility and feeling like your body has failed you.

It doesn’t specifically give the Mercier Therapy information, but more so encourages you to find a Mercier Therapist near you. It is, HOWEVER, a helpful read for you to know that you don’t HAVE to do IVF right off the bat, that there are more natural options at your fingertips that you could try prior to going the more expensive, more invasive route of IVF.

I gave it a 4 stars out of 5, because I did feel like it did came across that it was going to give more information about the Mercier Therapy, however, it did not.

I wish I read this book years ago!

I loved the way the author explained the body and it’s systems and functions so simply. I learned correlations between different hormones that I didn’t know prior, with much reading on these topics. I also appreciate her openness to using fertility treatments, but her resolve that they aren’t the only option for everyone. I cried and I highlighted and I will be back to reference and reread. I will recommend this book to everyone. And I hope to someday meet a Mercier Therapist myself.

I loved this book! I'm not currently trying to conceive, but I bought the book as I was interested to see if 'The Mercier Approach' might be a useful tool to treat my pain from endometriosis. While reading it, I found other treatments that helped remove my period pains, but I kept reading anyway as Jennifer Mercier just have such a wonderful personality and approach to couples suffering from infertility and should I ever need help in that department, a visit to a Mercier theapist would be the first thing on my list!
