Honestly don’t think I’ve ever read a short story that had me hooked on the main characters pretty much instantaneously. The wit and charm woven into this author’s tale (adapted and inspired by a real story) is nothing short of magical. Despite the tale itself being something akin to a Masterpiece Theater or Hallmark special (saving 500+ injured chickens from being sold to a slaughterhouse), the undercurrent was anything but surface level or trite.
I love that the story explored old prejudices and biases one may have of people from their past, the belief that one can strive to become a better person, the idea that forgiveness is always a choice and always possible, and the fickle nature of confidence. Overall, I have a feeling I’ll be coming back to this story for comfort and inspiration.
Cute, and why Granger’s feelings for Malfoy would change is mapped fairly well, but we could have used more insight into what he saw in her. As written, the reader has to entirely rely on admiration they already have for Granger, not anything particularly lovely about her in this story.
Super short fic that I wish was longer and had more build up but this was hilarious and fluffy as fuckkk 😭😭 had to rate it. Super feel good and funny. I was this close to going vegetarian damn 😂
