The Ghost and Charlie Muir is a stand alone, M/M romance by Felice Stevens. I really didn’t know what to expect with this book and have been so excited about jumping in. This isn’t just the story of one couple, our two main characters, but of another couple, from a time long ago, whose story needed to be told.

ghost of an old woman - Google Search

Charlie Muir is twenty seven years old and lives in Brooklyn. Charlie hasn’t had a pleasant life. Not only did he grow up in the system, going from foster home to foster home, he was also always openly gay. Charlie has learned the hard way not to trust, to expect to be hurt one way or another. He can’t believe it when he is contacted and told he is the sole heir of a great, great aunt he never knew he had and has inherited her beautiful home. For the first time ever, Charlie belongs somewhere. Only it seems as though there is another inhabitant in the old home, a ghost named Rachel who has plenty she needs to say.

me plus you equals us - Google Search

Ian Gregg is twenty eight years old and lives next door to the Muir home, he’s lived there all his life. He now lives in the apartment on the bottom floor underneath the main house where his parents still reside. Ian is straight but has always struggled with his relationships. As soon as he and Charlie meet, he feels a strange attraction to him which is very confusing. He’s never felt attracted to a man before. When Charlie keeps having strange things happen in the house, Ian helps him try to figure out what is going on. The more time they spend together, the stronger the pull is.

Rachel is full of shenanigans in this book! She makes sure none of Ian or Charlie’s attempts to date anyone else go well! At the same time, she slowly reveals the story of two other men who lived long ago and also loved each other, during a time when their love wasn’t acceptable in society. A story tied to the ever growing connection between Ian and Charlie.

This was both fun and also heart breaking. Charlie struggles with the emotional scars from his childhood and I loved the way Ian slowly was able to build him up. Rachel’s interference at times was hilarious but effective. The story of Robert and Eddie from so long ago was heart breaking. This really was a beautiful story of knowing you’ve found “the one,” even though that person isn’t who you ever imagined it would be. The ending was beautiful. These characters will most definitely stay with me for a long time to come.

“If this was happiness, bring it on.”

DNF @20% because....the simplistic dialogue...the, shit, just about everything in here from characterization to plot was sophomoric for me.

Too harsh? Ah well, this is my second go at Felice Stevens book and I think it will be my last. Congrats to all who liked this one.

Something a bit different from Felice

This is an odd one to summarise.

On the one hand, it's a lovely next door, friends to lovers romance. On the other, it's a wee bit of a mystery with a paranormal ghostly tale at it's heart.

One thing it is in both elements, is a well-written narrative with evocative imagery and wonderfully crafted characters.

I loved Charlie, his vulnerability, his disbelief that anything good could happen for him because his past had been one let down after another.

I also really liked how Ian, once he'd got over his shock at being attracted to Charlie and decided whether his feelings were ghostly influence or not, went all in.

The ghostly elements were also done well. They fit without ever really making the book 'feel' paranormal and the character of Rachel was as solidly drawn as the others.

I felt for her as she tried her best to enlighten Charlie and Ian about the past.

One thing I felt a bit disconnected from though were the two other men, Rachel's brother Eddie and his lover.

I think perhaps a bit more in the way of letters and maybe less flashbacks/mirror insights, could have helped there.

But that's a small quibble only in what was otherwise a really lovely romance.

So sorry, I don't like to do that to a book, especially a book that I could imagine is becoming better in later chapters. It's just that I feel so queasy, so uneasy about how the ghost interferes with Charlie and Ian's attempts at dating or hooking up with someone else (that's before they even think about each other in that way) that I don't want to read another scene like that.

Surely others believe that to be ghostly shenanigans, hilarious and funny but for me it's just cruel and no one deserves to be treated that way.

Sometimes, there's always a second chance for two lovers to reunited, even they had to wait for more than a hundred years. And one particular ghost. To make them realized that they were meant to be together in this life.
One more chance, not to be ignored.
There's a long story about Charlie and Ian's story before they needed to understand the past before really together.
Charlie and Ian's story stated with friendship. The problem is, Ian's straight, and never interested in guys before. Like, straight straight. Then why he's so comfortable every time he's with Charlie and wanted to be with Charlie all the time, he didn't understand.
Rachel, the ghost from the past needed to work hard to make them 'see', that they belonged to each other.

It felt right. Like I was finally where I was supposed to be. And who i was supposed to be with. You.
I've never , ever had anything close to this happen to me when I was with anyone else.
Don't ever think you're coming in second place, because you've already won the race before you left the starting gate.

It was a sad heartbreaking about two lovers story from a hundred years ago, and it cannot be repeated. This time, Ian and Charlie, needed a happy ending, not like Eddie and Robert.

"The Ghost and Charlie Muir is a heartbreaking yet a heartwarming second chance love story. This made me think, maybe, just maybe, somewhere some other times, we're all going to have that, in this life, or another life time.
Written in a very charming and fun way, this one is another winner from Felice!"

A sweet, slow-burn romance with a paranormal twist.

Charlie’s life has never been easy, but when he steps into the home he inherited from a relative he never knew, he finally feels like he is somewhere he belongs. No sooner than he has that thought, strange things start happening. Another bonus of his new address, his sexy and sweet – but straight – next door neighbor Ian. As the two start to form a friendship, Ian starts feeling things for Charlie that he hasn’t felt before with any of the women he has dated. But strange things start happening at Ian’s home as well, and while he may be willing to embrace his newfound feelings for Charlie, he isn’t willing to be manipulated into feeling them and that’s what Ian fears is happening. Both men have been visited by Rachel, a ghost intent on telling them the story of her brother and his lover, both long dead, but why and to what end? As Charlie and Ian become more invested in each other, they also become invested in the story of Eddie and Robert as well.

This isn’t a scary ghost story, more of a sentimental one. Something different from Felice Stevens, but with all the romance, feelings and affection for the past that you would come to expect from her stories. Charlie is so sweet and has been so hurt, he has understandable trust issues. Ian is confused, to say the least, about not just the goings on around them, but his feelings for Charlie as well. I liked that his confusion went in a different direction than just the “but I’m straight” variety, courtesy of Rachel, but that he was able to take a chance, and I never doubted that he would be the friend Charlie so desperately wanted, no matter how the story ended.

There are some bumps in the road, with minimal angst, a bit of ghostly meddling, some humor, sexy times and a romantic HEA. I’m glad Felice Stevens gave us something different and it definitely worked for me!

Almost 30% in when i noticed there's barely any plot development. What we got is too much simplistic one toned dialogue and the repetition of the event of a ghost's chasing away Charlie's date! It's boring af. The only thing salvageable from this crap was the past stories and how it tangled with the present timeline. Though toward the end this book grew a bit interesting, I can't give it more than 2.5 stars!

Ahem, this book got a nomination for this year's Lambda Literary Award and I'd be really pissed if it wins.

Charlie & Ian

There was a good story here I just don't feel like the writer wrote it out that well.

I did like the back story of Robert and Eddie even though the ending wasn't a happy one.

Charlie and Ian were... something. Charlie did get a bit annoying but I still rooted for his happiness.

What a precious story, I loved it dearly!

What do you do with an inherited estate at Willow Place, Brooklyn, where a ghost lives?
The estate pulled Charlie in from first sight… or was it the other way.

Entering the house at Willow Place for the first time was already the experience of his life. The house has preferences about his visitors and a story to tell.

Ian Gregg, Charlie’s neighbor, is one of the visitors the house allowed to enter.
When strange things happen right away, they both want to figure out what’s going on.
Ian helps Charlie with the roof and upper rooms when they find a box, without a key.
After opening it they find a stack of photographs and there is a story, about two men, from a century ago. The universe is pushing Charlie and Ian to a point where they have to be together. Interactions with other persons seem impossible.
The ghost named Rachel wants them to work together and reveal something important, for them and her.

On their journey, we get to know Charlie and Ian. Dear Charlie, his heartbreaking past made me so intensely sad, hopping through the foster care system, never long at one place, no friends, never enough, lonely. He has an awesome job, so Charlie-ish.
Ian was overwhelmed by his feelings for Charlie, Ian's inner struggle was palpable, his fight and surrendering was beautifully pictured.

“Happiness”

It seems a simple word, happiness, only it’s huge, the most important feeling that rises above all. That one word shows that then and even a century later it still isn’t simple to gain happiness and love the one you want.
I found this such a beautifully layered narrative, widely developed, with the kindest personalities and quite an extraordinary plot. Every part fits organically in the whole picture.
The writing is amazingly done, entertaining with just the right weight on the issues.
The author put such a subtle sense of humor in this story, more than lovely!
I can’t say it enough, it was just wonderful! Every little detail was exclusive I loved every part of this story, the past, the present, and the future.

Highly recommended!

I didn’t care for this book although I know many did. While Charlie was sweet, he was also whiny, passive and stunted. While Ian was ultimately redeemed, he was also sort of piggish, self-centered and a meathead (the slangy language and super player rep was odd) so his evolved turn was hard to buy. I had to force myself to finish and ultimately, I was left with the feeling that this author’s style just doesn’t gel for me. The elements were there, an interesting concept for the story, but the execution was just flat - too many irrelevant details (what purpose did Ian’s many sisters serve) and not enough to make Charlie’s back story believable (surrendered at 2 with no rationale).

YMMV, of course.

I still have tears in my eyes as I write this from the wonderful love story that unfolded in this book. This is a different read than what one may expect from this author, but the overall romance and love story is one you’ve come to count on. I was immediately drawn into Ian and Charlie’s story, and eagerly read on to learn more about the ghost that inhabited Charlie’s inherited house. I loved how the past was intertwined with Charlie and Ian’s future. I really loved how the ghost story of past love was intertwined with the story of new love. While there was sadness with how a past love unfolded, it was wonderful watching new love bloom. There was so much depth to both these characters. I felt so many emotions for Charlie and how rough his childhood was, and how his adult life made him distrustful of others intentions. While Ian was initially reluctant and didn’t understand his feelings for Charlie, I liked how when he “got it”, he really moved full steam ahead. I loved the way that Ian stood up to his friends, and adored how his family was immediately accepting of Charlie. I was so happy to see Charlie finally accepted and loved for who he was. This was a great love story!

If I had known the full premise beforehand, I’m not sure I would have picked this up. The author had a steep uphill climb to get me to suspend my disbelief and go along with it, but somehow she managed! It was fun and interesting, with just enough (and not too much) melodrama and cute moments

I feel really bad for saying this but was I the only one who didn’t really enjoy this?

Charlie felt too ‘woe is me’, bringing up his misfortune and terrible childhood at every turn. Ian seemed decent enough, but his mood swings between liking Charlie and denying it seemed too abrupt? Their fights seemed over dramatic and repetitive? The ghost plot line seemed too convenient, and out there but also unexplained and random? Eddie and Robert’s story seemed too cliche and predictable? I feel like maybe this would’ve worked better as a shorter story, and a less convoluted plot line.

I don’t know, maybe the story just didn’t resonate with me.

I've given this a C+ at AAR, so that's 3.5 stars

I’ve enjoyed a number of books by Felice Stevens, and when I saw she was writing something  a bit different - a love story with a paranormal twist - I was intrigued and eager to read it. The Ghost and Charlie Muir is a cute and tender standalone romance, in which our protagonists are helped along the road to love by a (mostly) friendly spirit.  The title is clearly a nod to the well-known film about the ghost of a cantankerous sea-captain who falls in love with his human ‘hauntee’,  but the similarities don’t go much beyond the title and the inclusion of a ghost on a mission.

Charlie Muir grew up in the foster system, so he’s surprised to discover that he’s inherited a house from a great-great aunt.  His hasn’t been an easy life – moved from home to home  he was never able to put down roots or make friends, being openly gay meant he was often bullied and his adult relationships haven’t been stellar either.  He’s learned the hard way not to trust and to expect the worst.

His neighbour, Ian Gregg, works as an electrician and contractor, but he also used to look after the garden of the house next door. Since Miss Muir’s death two years earlier, the place has been closed up and the garden left to go a bit wild, but he hopes that whoever has just moved in will take care of the beautiful trees and flowers he’s inherited. He’s working in his own garden when his new neighbour introduces himself and offers Ian a drink – and Ian is caught unawares by a sense of familiarity… which makes no sense, as they’ve never met before.

Also making no sense is the prickle of attraction that sizzles through him when their hands touch in a simple greeting, or the way Charlie appears to be surrounded by a strange golden glow… Ian puts it all down to his still being hungover from the night before.

As they talk, Charlie mentions that something weird happened the other day when he brought a guy home. He tells Ian how the bedroom lights started flickering on and off, the chandelier above the bed started swinging back and forth and when the mirror fell off the wall, Charlie saw the face of a woman dressed in old-fashioned clothes staring disapprovingly back at him.  Ian stops by to check out the wiring the next evening, and after doing that, offers to help Charlie to go through the stuff he’s found boxed up in the bedrooms. Exploring the attic and the upstairs further, they find a tiny, hidden room, and in it an old, locked box which, when they manage to open it, contains an Army death certificate for someone called Edward Robinson.  Later that night, Charlie has a dream or vision of himself yet not himself – Edward - crawling through mud as screams and the sound of gunfire rend the air. And as it fades, images of Edward kissing another young man – Robert – followed by the appearance of the woman from the mirror, who informs him that he and Ian have much work to do.

Neither Charlie nor Ian can see what a decades-old story can possibly have to do with them, but the more they learn about Edward and Robert, the more intrigued they become and soon, they’re eager to find out what happened to them, two young men who were so clearly in love with each other but unable to do anything about it.

And as that love story progresses, so does the one between Charlie and Ian. Ian has always been something of a ladies’ man and has never been attracted to men, but there’s something about Charlie that draws him in and makes him start to question things he’s always believed about himself, and to admit that there’s been something missing from his past relationships with women. But something about Charlie just does it for him; and although it takes him a while to get his head around it, once he’s accepted that, he doesn’t freak out and is fully open to exploring the burgeoning feelings he has for Charlie. The difficult part is going to be convincing Charlie that Ian really does want to be with him for more than sex; Charlie has been there, done that, fallen for straight guys who only wanted some action on the side, and it always ended badly – sometimes even violently – for him.

Charlie and Ian are likeable characters, although Charlie is generally too passive, and his non-existent self-esteem has him coming across as overly needy and even, dare I say it, a bit whiny. He’s sweet and he’s been through a lot, so his mass of insecurities make perfect sense, but his tendency to expect the worst was tiring at times, and there was one occasion I really wanted him to stop acting like a kicked puppy. Ian, on the other hand, is a live wire. He’s outgoing and confident, but once he realises he’s all in for Charlie, is prepared to wait for him to catch up and realise that Ian wants to be with him for real.

On the downside though, the story is quite repetitive in places, and while I appreciate a slow burn, the trips to clubs and the ghostly interference and sabotaged dates were repetitive and felt like padding. And although I really liked the idea of the two parallel love stories, the significance of Edward and Robert’s story is very obvious very quickly, and I didn’t understand why, if it was so important for Charlie and Ian to know their story, it was doled it out piecemeal rather than being told in one go. Okay, logically I know why not – if that had happened, that there would have been no book. But once the ghost had their attention, whether it was by showing them visions of the past on the TV or in dreams, or by simply talking to them face-to-face, there was no reason I could see for it to be dragged out over several visits.

I liked the premise of the dual love story, but it didn’t quite work, and the ghostly shenanigans weren’t as spooky or as funny as I’d hoped. The Ghost and Charlie Muir kept me entertained, but the repetitiveness and a rather wishy-washy main character keep it from earning a recommendation.

Just when I think Felice Stevens can't surprise me anymore, she gives me a ghost story. Is there anything this woman cannot write? Sweet, light, and funny, and then she knocks you in the feels. Wow. What an amazing read.

Charlie and Ian. Neighbors, friends to lovers, with a meddling ghost (omg how can I not love Rachel?) and letters from the past, this was a great balance of lighthearted funny moments (think comedy of errors) and deeper, introspective, angstier moments, Get ready to smile, laugh, and cry because this one has it all.

And yes, she breaks your heart along the way (have those tissues handy) but Felice delivers that promised HEA (complete with her signature schmoop, of course).

Different from anything I've read and certainly different from what's out there now, I was absolutely blown away, and I can't recommend this enough.

I had a hard time reviewing this book. It was certainly different. I listened to the audiobook and Matt Haynes did a wonderful job. I doubt if I would have finished this if I was reading it in kindle form.

The story was ok, but I wasn’t crazy about Charlie and Ian. Charlie was so insecure that it got on my nerves, and Ian kept running hot and cold. The part of the story was Rachel running off Charlie’s tricks.

I fell in love with this book and it’s characters. I felt the MCs were definitely people that I can relate to. When reading a book and it gives me all the feels you know it’s special. You can’t help but fall in love with Charlie and all his insecurities. He is just so unbelievably human. We all have things we are insecure about and was just so relatable. Then there is Ian with his preconceived notions of people are and he is learning that you can not tell who someone is just by looking at them. While reading I felt hope and cheered for the people that they would grow to be to reach there HEA. Once again Felice Stevens has done a superb job. Love it, love it, love it!!!

Struggled through

I am shocked at the many positive reviews of this book and author. The dialog was wretched and juvenile at best. The over use of words such as “gonna,” “wanna,” “lemme” were bad enough but then the author uses “offa” and “haveta.” Come on, those aren’t even actual words. Just lazy writing. I found myself speed reading through pages of excessive verbiage that didn’t add depth to the storyline, merely word count to the author’s need to hit a quota. Ugh...this book was a chore to slog through.

The minute I heard about this book, I wanted it. My favorite author writing one of my favorite tropes? Sign me up! To say that I devoured this book would be an understatement. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. It's sweet and funny yet heartbreaking too.

I loved Charlie from the start. He was adorable and very surprised to find that his new home comes with a gorgeous (and straight) neighbor (Ian) and one very mischievous ghost (Rachel).

Ian is the guy everybody loves. He's sexy as sin and genuinely nice. I like how he just steps up to help Charlie with no questions asked.

Rachel was a delight. No scary ghost here! She was relentless in getting Charlie and Ian to listen to her and what she did to their prospective dates? It was hilarious. I loved her!

Her meddling also leads to the discovery of Eddie and Robert's old photos and letters. The telling of their century-old love story was beautifully woven into Charlie and Ian's slow burn romance.

I loved this book so much. It made me laugh and it made me cry but it also left me with a smile on my heart because love never dies.

Frustrating throughout most of the story with Ian and Charlie being oblivious of the past and their part in it. Then Ian denying his feelings and Charlies not believing him when Ian wanted to try out a relationship, I just wanted to bang my head 😫 against a wall!! LOL
So this book wast a favorite for me.

Still wiping my tears, what a book! Fantastic read, 5 stars... Neighbors to friends to lovers with a ghost, enjoy! Slow burn, angst, heartbreaking, bi awakening, a bit funny & romantically sweet. I loved Charlie as soon as I met him & my heart ached for him, I so wanted to hug him. Ian, great guy I disliked him on and off but finally loved him too. Rachel, oh my, she was honest I'll tell you that. I enjoyed her. Eddie & Robbie's letters broke me, ugly cries there, especially the last one... It was a wonderful book I enjoyed reading through tears and all. Highly Recommended!!

Managed to scrape through this by the skin of my teeth. Wanted to give up many a times. This had so much potential, and I am such a sucker for a good reincarnation story with a ghostly matchmaker, but somewhere along the line, this lost me.

I'm not saying its bad per se, there were actually elements I liked. The MCs though, did absolutely nothing for me, with their constant running around in circles and will they won't they. I did like Charlie in the beginning, but he soon got on my nerves. Yes, I know abandonment issues, as well as being used and not being loved is a huge issue, but the constant flip-flopping of his emotions and being ok one moment and not the next was tiring. He was such an unbalanced character that I felt like he needed a therapist more than he needed a ghostly matchmaker let alone finding out the story of Eddie and Robert.

As for Ian, I felt nothing for him. Absolutely zilch, nothing. Sure, he was painted out to be hot as hell and hung like a horse, but that was all there was to him. His personality fell kind of flat for me, and his confusion about being attracted to Charlie despite being straight his entire life was honestly not handled very well. There are plenty of GFY characters floating around the universe that can kick his ass hard and all he can do is whimper. The two of them together both bored and exhausted me to no ends in the same breath, and that is quite a feat.

Their predecessors Eddie and Robert though had more charm and presence than the two MCs, and many a times I wished that their stories took more precedence than Ian and Charlie did, which would have helped balanced it out to be a much more enjoyable read. Even the ghost Rachel, though being way too comical to the point of cartoonish at times, was a much more interesting character to boot. With her, I felt that the author was kind of going for both mysticism and a little humour but fell a little off the mark.

The story and writing was ok, nothing to write home about, and like I said, I wished more of Eddie's and Robert's story were brought forth. As for the modern day storyline of Ian and Charlie, it felt a tad drawn out and at times convenient. Even the sex scenes felt convenient and not fully in service of the story. And don't get me started on their dialogue. Cheesy 70s porn dialogue seriously has nothing on the eye-roll inducing nonsense that was pouring out their lips during their deeds.

I think it's safe to say that Felice Steven's books are not a good match for me, as I had read one years back and hated the MC(s). This one gave me a bad case of deja vu and the barage of "shame on me" was chanting on loop in my head. Maybe a second chance was not so good an idea and I should steer clear in future.

I am not a ghost story fan in general, but The Ghost and Charlie Muir is a great story. Felice Stevens gifts us with a ghost who's friendly and helpful, just wanting to help the men with her agenda.

I love this story and the way the past and the present are combined to create a sweet romance. From the start, I adore Ian and his developing feelings for Charlie. Their story has plenty of confusion and doubts, and a whole lot of hesitation. And a meddling ghost who keeps them on their toes.

Ian's journey is heart-felt, written with care and compassion. His relationship with Charlie is tender and hot, sweet and sexy. I adore the first times and his bisexual exploration.

It's written in alternating third person pov, allowing the reader to understand both men's feelings and emotions. The ghost part of the story leads the development of their relationship. It's tender and sweet, full of true love and romance. She's a ghost that brings the past to the present, in a predictable, yet enjoyable way. I seriously love her and the tricks she uses. If you enjoy historical romances, you will love the "past" part of this story. It's heart-breaking, yet beautiful in the end.

The Ghost and Charlie Muir is a fantastic tale of sexual exploration and sexual awakening. Felice Stevens will leave you satisfied with the ending, as she uses a perfect combination of sweetness, humor, and depth in this tale. It's a riveting, heartfelt romance that contains just the right amount of whimsy.

This book totally won me by the cover! So, I confess that I didn't read the blurb before I started reading it, so I deduced that the main character would fall in love with a ghost LOL
How wrong I was!

Charlie Muir only remembers his life that he was left by his own mother in an orphanage. He grew up the best he could and became a good person. Now, at 27, he works in a vintage clothing store and leads a simple life.
Until he is contacted by a law firm and discovers that he is the heir to a beautiful, old house in NY, with all taxes included. His great-great-aunt insisted, in her will, that the house be left to someone of her blood. As she had no children, the inheritance would go to her brother's granddaughter. This granddaughter was Charlie's mother, who died a few years ago in a car accident.
But there was a stipulation: Charlie would have to live in the house for the first year. If he did not comply with that term, the house would be taken and taken up for auction.

For Charlie, who never had anything belonging to him, it was as good as winning the lottery. Not only would he have his first property, like knowing that the house belonged to someone connected to him, it gave him a sense of family, belonging.

But there was one more catch. The ghost.
And that's where the story gets really funny, because the ghost had a very special mission for Charlie. And that involved the boy next door, Ian Gregg.

Ian worked as an electrician and contractor, and he loved gardening. He lived at his parents house, who had moved to Florida. As the only unmarried son (his sisters, married, lived in other parts of the country), he didn't mind taking care of the house.
Before, he took care of Mrs Muir's garden, but with her death, the house was closed for two years (while lawyers were looking for the heir).

With Charlie's arrival, the two soon began a friendship, and Ian offered to do minor repairs to the house, as well as to take care of the garden again.
Charlie was attracted to Ian, but Ian, from the beginning, said he was straight, and even had a girlfriend.

As I said before, the ghost had a mission for both of them.
Do not think that this mission is about sending messages to loved ones alive, from the world of death. No. It was something much bigger... and more romantic.
However, while the revelation of the mission is not clear to the two, they are forging a good friendship (and maybe a beginning of a romance), as well as several hilarious scenes - starring a very crazy ghost - happen.

It is a romantic book about rescue and second chance, as well as showing that everyone deserves its happy ending.
Hold your tissues !!

Wow!!! You can describe this book with just one word, Amazing!!! This book is a friends to lovers, slow burn, second chances at love and a friendly ghost. This is a great romance, set in the modern world with a background of First Love set in times of the World War I.

I love paranormal reads and I was a little afraid at first at the Ghost thing but OMG! I was hooked since the first page and I didn’t want to end. I loved Charlie and Ian. This two are a delight to read. Charlie just inherited a big old house, He needs to live there for a year so He moves and meet Ian Gregg his hot neighbor.

Charlie invites a friend to his new house and this is when our friendly Ghost makes her entry.. Lol this and all Charlie and Ian’s dates with other people were so funny she really messed with them......Charlie background is so sad that broke my heart, I want to reach out and hug him, when he moves to the Old House he sense a connection to the place. The chemistry and connection between Charlie and Ian is immediately. I loved everything about this story so many emotions, we get to witness the sadness of past lovers who can be together and all this is intertwined with Charlie and Ian‘s present and future.

While Ian is reluctant of his feelings for Charlie he can help but be jealous of anyone with him, but He can stop thinking and wanting Charlie, I was so happy when He finally embraced his feeling and show Charlie that he is all in, I love that his family is so accepting of his and Charlie relationship.

We get to witness the love story between Eddie and Robert through Rachel, it broke my heart all the letters and how they never get to be together when they were alive but you have to read this book to finally know what happen to them, I highly recommended this book, love it!!!
