4 1/2 stars. Short and sweet
Part of the calendar book series.
Amelia and her son, Jacob are hurting, just trying to get over the family falling apart. Amelia is lucky to have her sister close now, but her son really misses his Dad. Her first day at the vet office, she meets a not so nice dog daddy. Or at least she thinks. Turns out he gives horseback riding lessons. (Enter Jack).
Great little story. I am so tired of all these 400-500 page books even if they are on my phone or kindle. Too long
I have marked as free but not sure if was direct from author or a giveaway. I’m trying to document better now that I’m more practiced. As of today, free on Kindle. So maybe I just got as free download there.

Short and sweet cowboy romance

After her sad divorce, the vet geowner ts a new job in her sister's Montana town and then signs up her young son for riding lessons. The instructor turns out to be the owner of a dog she just saw for his annual ch heckup and shots. She had not been impressed by the man. He is patient and kind to her son and talks her into a lesson too. He eventually explains that he is shy and uncomfortable with strangers, and also divorced. She can relate, feeling the same way. They start going out, and though the book doesn't end with happily ever after, the reader can tell it is on the way.

Jack didn't provide the best first impression to Amelia but he wins her over with his care and attention to her son Jacob. However, they have both been burned before and she finds a reason to push him away at the first sign of trouble. Even though this was a short story, I would have liked an epilogue following up on their romance.

Such a fun romance!! Quick and easy, this got me out of a pretty bad reading slump and I was able to finish it on my bus ride home. Really cute, perfect romance for a casual Friday night!
