It's A Wonderful Werewolf

Rate this book
Get festive with a wolfishly fun holiday romance from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden...

Oliver Abbott never intended to be a werewolf. Howling at the moon, sprouting fur, shifting into a beast...not exactly the life plan that the former Navy SEAL had anticipated. But an attack on a snow-filled night changes everything. Suddenly, Oliver has a new reality, and he has to leave the only woman he's ever loved, Gia Donato, in order to protect her from his wolfish side. Yeah, being a werewolf bites. Big time. Especially when you have the biggest, sharpest teeth in town.

But Christmas is a magical time...

On Christmas Eve, an angelical "intern" offers to grant Oliver one wish. Oliver can have anything he wants. His wish? He wishes that he'd never become a werewolf. Only that wish has unexpected consequences...Gia doesn't remember him, danger is stalking her, and, ho-ho-horror of horrors, Oliver is now a mild-mannered tax attorney. Nope, not happening. Especially the part where Gia is in danger. Oliver wants a do-over on the wish. STAT.

He will embrace his inner beast.

Oliver is an alpha werewolf for a reason. He wants his old, howl-at-the-moon life back, and he's going to take it—fangs, claws, fur, and everything else. With the help of his angel intern, Oliver's beast returns, and the hunt is on. Oliver is ready to fight for his second chance with Gia, and he will be at her side when danger comes to her door. Because there is no way that he will stand aside and let anyone hurt her. No way, no day. First, though, he has to convince the gorgeous Gia that she should give their love a second chance...

But it's Christmas, right? And  anything  can happen during the holiday season...even a miracle for a werewolf.

Author's note: Even werewolves can use a little Christmas magic. Deck the halls with some furry fun, dangerous dilemmas, and an uber hot hero who is prepared to grovel with hot chocolate for the woman who owns his heart. Someone is stalking her? Danger is at her door? Oliver will get his beast on in an instant in order to protect Gia. IT'S A WONDERUL WEREWOLF is a fun and festive novella (approximately 23,000 words) with an absolutely guaranteed happy ending.

Holy hot chocolate and Christmas trees! Would would’ve thought that a werewolf would make for the perfect Christmas character?

May be an image of 2 people, people standing, outdoors and tree

Oliver’s big plans took a drastic turn and I loved the way the story twisted and formed into something fresh and original. Oliver captured my heart from the beginning and I both hurt for him and wanted to give him a smack or two. But oh my, it really was delicious in the way he felt for Gia and his deep driving need to protect once he learned of her situation.

This doesn’t have a lot of Gia’s point of view but then again, it was necessarily needed. What we do have is enough to give some insight into what was happening in her life. There were a few surprises that added to the character and story development, making this novella feel like so much more.

This was a fun read with some great moments that had me chuckling and smiling. I absolutely loved the remaking of one of my favorite holiday stories. It was done in a way that I would want to reread this book each holiday. There were also moments of intense drama, danger, and action laced with enough hot and steamy moments to get you hot and bothered.

Overall, an incredible Christmas treat that’s perfect for paranormal loving romance readers!

Another fun and cute Christmas novella! I loved everything about Oliver except his thinking he needed to protect the heroine by staying away. Good thing he got that kick in his furry werewolf butt to make him realize she was safer with him then without him. Fun read!

Fun spin on the famous "It's a Wonderful Life". Don't expect the hero [ex-Navy Seal, newly turned and unwilling werewolf] to be a Jimmy Stewart clone or the angel 'intern' to act like Clarence.

This surprise release was pretty great.

Oliver is proposing to the love of his life Gia when he’s attacked by a wolf. The wolf does a lot of damage, but he’s able to survive. But what they didn’t realize was that he’d really been attacked by a werewolf. And Gia…isn’t afraid of him. But he’s afraid he’ll hurt her so he leaves.

Until one day he hits a bar in a small town where the bartender seems to know a bit too much about him. This bartender claims to be Oliver’s guardian angel, and he offers Oliver his greatest wish. This is obvious; he wants to be human. He wants his old life. He wants Gia. What he doesn’t realize is that being a normal human isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and when it comes down to it, he should have embraced his wolf.

Gia was never afraid of Oliver. She knew he’d never harm her. But she’s mad he left. He just…left. After a year of being ghosted, she’s not exactly in the mood to deal with her wayward werewolf. Even if she’s missed him more than anything. Can she forgive him? And can she tell him about the danger she’s in?

If you enjoyed It’s A Wonderful Life, then you’ll love this nod to the holiday classic. And if you’re really into paranormal classics, check out Cynthia Eden’s other story in this series called A Vampire’s Christmas Carol. (link goes to Amazon)

3.5 stars— IT’S A WONDERFUL WEREWOLF is the second instalment in Cynthia Eden contemporary, adult, CHRISTMAS WITH A TWIST paranormal, holiday romance story line. This is former US Navy SEAL Oliver Abbott, and the woman he loves Gia Donato’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Gia and Oliver) IT’S A WONDERFUL WEREWOLF follows in the aftermath of a Christmas Eve attack against Oliver Abbott, an attack by an animal that left our hero a shifting werewolf. Fearing he would hurt the woman he loved, Oliver disappeared for close to one year, only to find himself facing the angel Cael, an angel who is hoping to gain his wings by doing something nice for someone else. Oliver’s wish is to return to human but his return comes with loss and pain of his former fiancee who is being stalked, but a fiancee who does not remember the man she once loved.

IT’S A WONDERFUL WEREWOLF is a quick read; a paranormal/shifter retelling of It’s A Wonderful Life. Cael is a bartender who offers Oliver his greatest wish but like all wishes there is a caveat, and Oliver is about to discover that all is not well with the woman he still loves. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the characters are energetic and determined.

Well who doesn't want to read something full of festive vibes at this time of year ? The author has clearly been inspired by a very popular, classic Christmas movie but has given it her own paranormal twist which surprisingly works very well in this holiday novella.
This story begins brutally and was perhaps a little shocking although I guess the ferocity enabled the author to set the scene for Oliver to truly face rock bottom. Losing Gia is his biggest fear but when it's his own choice that truly is soul destroying. Flash forward to another place and time and maybe Oliver will get an opportunity that is heaven sent ?
Short yes but there is a complete story here. I'm not sure that I completely warmed to the couple but do think that they complimented each other. For this reader the best scenes are definitely the ones with Cael but to find out more you will need to read this book.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Just the Christmas surprise to make you drop everything and spend the morning reading! This was a fun and interesting read. I love the little touches that were inspired by a holiday classic and I love the way the story unfolds. It kept me reading through each chapter until I was finished. I was curious as to how each piece was going to affect the next part of the story and each time I loved it. Quick read but still has plenty of action and steam!!!

A Werewolf Christmas!!

Just when he’s about to propose he’s attacked. Now he thinks he’s to dangerous to be around her so he leaves.

Gia. Curved and gorgeous. Funny and smart. And with a heart so tender and big that she’d opened it up to him. “You can’t love the big, bad wolf.”

Gia loves him anyway. He left her and now he’s back.

“I truly loved you. I would have done anything for you.” Oliver flinched. “You’re using the past tense.”

“Why couldn’t you just come back because you can’t live without me? Because the world goes dark if I’m not at your side? Because you love me so much that getting through each day without me at your side rips you apart?”

This is a fun and sexy story with a little suspense. Just what you want in a great Christmas short.

This was a charming story patterned after the classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life." The characters are genuinely interesting, even more so than you initially think. The only difference in this story is that a werewolf takes the place of the mild-mannered George Bailey—a guy hiding from the life he has become while mistakenly trying to protect someone who doesn’t need protection.

Oliver Abbott never intended to become a werewolf. Howling at the moon, sprouting fur, and transforming into a beast was not exactly on the life plan of this former Navy SEAL. However, an attack on a snowy night changed everything for him. Suddenly, Oliver faces a new reality, forcing him to leave the only woman he has ever loved, Gia Donato, in a misguided attempt to protect her from his wolfish side. Being a werewolf is tough, and it bites—especially when you have the biggest, sharpest teeth in town.

But Christmas is a magical time…

On Christmas Eve, a celestial “intern” offers to grant Oliver one wish. He can have anything he desires. His wish? He wants to undo his werewolf transformation. However, this wish has unexpected consequences: Gia doesn’t remember him, danger is lurking around her, and—ho-ho-horror of horrors—Oliver is now a mild-mannered tax attorney. That’s simply unacceptable, especially with Gia in danger. So, Oliver wants a do-over on the wish—STAT.

He is determined to embrace his inner beast.

Oliver is an alpha werewolf for a reason. He wants his old life back—the life where he howls at the moon—and he’s ready to reclaim it, fangs, claws, fur, and all. With the help of his angelic intern, Oliver’s beast returns, and the hunt begins. He is prepared to fight for a second chance with Gia and will be by her side when danger approaches her. There is no way he will stand by and let anyone hurt her—absolutely no way. First, though, he must convince the gorgeous Gia that she should give their love another chance…

But it’s Christmas, right? Anything can happen during the holiday season—even a miracle for a werewolf.

Even werewolves can use a little Christmas magic. Deck the halls with furry fun, dangerous dilemmas, and an incredibly hot hero willing to grovel with hot chocolate for the woman who holds his heart. Someone is stalking her. Danger is at her door. Oliver will unleash his beast in an instant to protect Gia. This is a fun and festive novella with a guaranteed happy ending.

I love paranormal romances from Cynthia. I always look forward to when she releases them. "It's a Wonderful Werewolf" is a magical holiday romance with a lovely werewolf and his girl friend.

The story starts with Oliver proposing to his girlfriend in a park. The moment is completely magical and romantic. Gia is about to say yes when Oliver is attacked. They see a huge wolf running off into the woods and the next thing they knew Oliver was turning into one.

Newly turned, Oliver is confused and scared. He doesn't know how to control his primal urges. He's afraid that he'd hurt Gia and decides to break it off with her. Gia almost succeed in making him stay but Oliver unexpectedly turns in the middle of having sex. They both realize they knew nothing about werewolves, heck, they didn't even know such creatures exist until the attack.

Oliver leaves the town and doesn't look back until one year later, he stumbles across an angel in a bar. The rest of the story is filled with a pinch of magic, a very eager angel intern who cannot wait to get his wings, and an angry girlfriend who is pissed at Oliver for leaving her.

I'd say Cael, though appears only a few scenes steals the show with his quirky dialogs and reactions. He's funny and I'd love to read more about him.

Oliver and Gia loves each other too much. I loved how Gia's character is written. She doesn't care if Oliver is a werewolf. She insists that they stay together. It's a shame Oliver is too scared to take a chance. But he will realize his mistake soon.

It's a fun read. I enjoyed reading this.

It's A Wonderful Werewolf is a fun holiday read by Cynthia Eden. A play on the movie as much as it is the title this is a clear example of being careful what you wish. Oliver, such a mild manner name for this former Navy SEAL, doesn’t understand the danger of messy with his current reality but soon he becomes all too aware. He is a swoon worthy hero who is trying to do his best in circumstances he did not plan. It is easy to pull for this guy when life goes from bad to worse.

Oliver is at the center of the story with is predicament but his love interest has her share of the story too. Several twists and turns make this an enjoyable inventive story. You will for a time forget all the hectic running around that you need to do. Sometimes a break is just what you need this time of year. Celebrate with Oliver as he fights for what is important in his life in this Christmas novella.

Former SEAL Oliver Abbott was ready to propose to Gia Donato when he was attacked and bitten by a wolf. He immediately knew that he was in trouble when his body began to “change”. He couldn’t possibly take the risk of marrying Gia, what if he injured her? One year later, will he be given the chance to reverse his “condition” by a guardian angel? A guardian angel who is a bartender – what? When he believes that he is once again only human, she doesn’t seem to remember him. Will she eventually forgive him and will he be able to keep her safe? This might be a slightly different genre for this author…werewolves, guardian angels, and a magical town, but is still the same witty dialog, an amusing story line, a heroine who knows what she wants and a protective alpha male. Everything all wrapped up in this fun and entertaining paranormal story! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Oliver didn't know he had werewolf genes in his blood, until he was attacked the night he was proposing to his girlfriend. After he turns, he believes that he is a danger to Gia and leaves her. What he doesn't know, is that she is in danger. Has been, for years.

On Christmas Eve, Oliver walks into a bar and meets his guardian angel, Cael. Cael shows him what his life would be like if he wasn't currently and had never been a werewolf. Oliver gets to see it and is not happy. What Oliver knows is that a werewolf cannot hurt his true mate and he has to find a way to win her back.

It's a Wonderful Werewolf was an absolutely adorable story. I could not put it down and felt like I read it in no time. The story was constantly moving, the characters were lovable, and everytime you thought they were going to get into trouble someone was there to back them up. I love it and even needed a tissue or two. So cute!

Bueno.

It's A Wonderful Werewolf was a joyously sexy, furry, oh so perfect holiday novella that put the biggest smile on my face and a lot of Christmas joy in my heart!

I do love Cynthia Eden's PNRs. And when she surprised us with this super sexy and brand-new Christmas novella I was beyond ecstatic, and I couldn't wait to dive into it. This story was fast paced and whole a lot of fun with lots of passion and sweet, sigh-worthy romance that I admit, made me drool and feel a little envious over. And the fact that this was a Holiday Paranormal romance containing one hot werewolf and the woman that he can never forget made this extra special! I fell hard for this story, and I hope we get many more sexy PNRs in the future.

It's A Wonderful Werewolf gets a SUPER HOT AND ENTERTAINING FIVE HOWLING STARS!!

I absolutely loved this book and was hooked from page one. Oliver was bitten by a wolf, and I wasn’t prepared to cry so quickly into the story. Loved feeling their emotions. Hated how Oliver broke Gia’s heart. Was gutted when he realizes how much she means to him. What wish would he want granted? It’s a very heartwarming story and I loved their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

This was a nice fun quick read.

Oliver has proposed to Gia when they are attack by a werewolf. He saves her but is bitten. He immediately begins to transform and takes off into the woods. The police arrive and he surfaces naked without a mark.
Later he tells Gia that he is leaving so to keep her safe from him.
A year later he walks into a bar where his guardian angel, Cael tries to guide him.

What unfolds is a fun at times and action filled at others.

Good read.

There are authors who can write a novella. And then there are authors that leave you hanging and you don't feel you got a full story. Cynthia Eden is an author that can write a novella - you end the book knowing you got a complete story. And what a story!! This is a must read!

This was a wonderful paranormal Christmas novella. I love reading Cynthia Eden paranormal books. She does a great job of storytelling. This was Oliver Abbott finding out he was a werewolf and protecting the love of his life Gia Donato. He thinks life for her is without him. So an angel grants him a wish and he finds out life has a twist he is not prepared for. This is a fast read with a great Christmas ending.
