About the author

Konami Kanata (jp. こなみかなた), is a Japanese cartoonist best known for her cat characters Chi's Sweet Home. Her works revolves around the daily life of house cats.

She went to Futaba-Kōtō Academy in Suwa, Nagano Perfecture. Her first published manga as a profesional manga-ka was the short story Puchi Neko Jamu Jamu in Nakayoshi Manga Magazine in 1982. The magazine is a part of Kodansha Publishing, in which she published her works ever since her first debut.

As far as I’m concerned, Konami Kanata is the greatest author / illustrator ever in the steadily growing subgenre of cat manga. This volume is no exception, with incredibly cute illustrations and writing that truly captures real life cat behavior. Excellent.

A collection of short story graphic novel/manga adventures featuring rambunctious and playful kitten Tai-chan and the older and wiser Sue-chan who keeps him company. In this story collection the duo get locked out of a house, play together, taste new foods together, Tai-chan manages to almost avoid getting wet after it rains outside, and they spend New Year together.

Another adorable collection of adventures with these two opposites who complement each other well. The author/illustrator manages to capture typical cat antics and present them in a humorous light so well. This is the perfect all-ages manga, appealing to the masses; it is also easier for those not familiar with manga as it reads left to right and front to back in a more Western style.
