As a lover of both books and puzzles this combination of the two was a no-brainer for me. This ringbound paperback was cheap in The Works and involves a Miss Marple-style detective solving various murders in her village. There's a puzzle on virtually every page, half of which relate to the crimes - spot the difference crime scenes, anagram lists of suspects and the like - and half of which are just random puzzles from the local newspaper. Expect lots of sudokus of varying difficulty, kakuros, wordsearches, crosswords and more. While the narrative elements don't work so well - for example, I could never 'get' the hidden messages despite solving the puzzles correctly - the sheer variety, diversity and layout of the puzzles make this a very appealing book. My recommendation is to do a puzzle a day.
