Ember the Mighty is back! The evil but lovable chihuahua that wants to rule the world returns in Susan Tan’s sequel to “My Kingdom of Darkness”, in which Ember is adopted by the Chin family, where he plots world domination with his new-found friends (correction: minions). He wants to make humankind bow to him and become his slaves (except for the youngest Chin, Lucy, whom he loves because she gives him cookies).

In the second book, “The Poodle of Doom”, the Chins open their home to two guests. One of them—-grandma Poh Poh—-seems nice enough, but the other guest—-Poh Poh’s pet poodle named Fluffy—-surpasses Ember in his evilness. Fluffy doesn’t want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it! Can Ember and his minions stop this evil poodle’s plans to wreck everything?

This is a fun and hilarious series written for newly-independent readers just starting out on chapter books. My daughter loves them and has breezed through the first two books in the series. The third, “Kittens Are Monsters!” is out now.

Ember was my favorite character because he at first was kind of mean but then he was nicer. It surprised me when fluffy was nice in the end. i would not change the ending because they were nice in the ending this is a great book for 6 and older

Cute easy read series with diverse characters and spot on illustrations. I love that the series revolves around a dog who plans to take over the world yet has messages about friendship and team work.

I read this, and the first book, to my kindergarten class and they loved it. We are awaiting the third one. Very easy to get through. My only thing is that they always leave you wanting more lol
