Okay, so I thought I would like this alot but like...idk I just didn't... I wanted to though,, maybe it's the way the pages were made like it's not just words, there are pictures, them sending messages to each other, so maybe that's why, but I loved the plot!!

The Avenger Students are off for a study session at the X-manor! Wolverine! Danger! Storm! And more~

I FINALLY had the chance to get this one! I was worried I would have to bribe someone. XD But finally Amazon had it in stock and late March I could finally read it!

In this one our group of Avengers are going to the X-academy for a new term! They learn new things, learn about teambuilding, and are going on a time travel excursion that had me scratching my head, haha. But then again, when doesn’t time travel make you scratch your head. It is so utterly confusing! And of course, we meet some X-men or other students from the academy on the way. I really had fun seeing the gang (and the rest of course) in the Danger Room, and that excursion full of dinosaurs was just so cool, especially when things go evil! Oh yes~ It just was a delight to read.

Spiderman is the main one in this one, but we also get some Doreen and some Kamala. And of course, I am still very much in love with the format. Comics, excerpts from chats or mails, tumblr stuff, texts, we see the gang talk together as illustration and not as a text only, and there is so much more. It makes the adventure and the excitement really come to life and I love it.

Oh, and I am giving bonus points to that cover. It just made me laugh so much. That poor Wolverine. XD He has got a fanclub coming for him, oh yes.

I loved loved the conversations of Miles with The Other Spiderman. They made me laugh so much and I loved that Miles at least has someone to go to if it is about superhero stuff. Or just about being a Spiderman.

I am also not a fan of Reptil(e). I could kinda understand where he came from at points, but for most I would have just liked to see him try at least, instead of being a grumpy grump all the time and acting like everyone is not into making friends, and OMG someone didn’t like dinosaurs, how DARE they. rolls eyes

I had kinda expected more X-men. We did get to see quite a few of them, or see texts/messages from them, but I would have liked just a bit more. Xavier is barely there, we just get a glimpse of Storm. It is mostly Wolverine and a few others that I barely recognise (sorry, Marvel and all that just confuse me greatly).

But all in all, I am happy that I finally had the chance to read this book and that it was another fun ride! I cannot wait for the next volume and see what is up then~

The Avengers Assembly group (Miles Morales, Doreen Green, Malala Khan, etc.) gets to go on a field trip to the X-Men boarding school. Will they get along with their X-Men roommates for the week? And what happens if some of their guest lecturers don't have their best interests at heart?

This is like camp for superheroes at the X-Men HQ. Of course things go epically wrong and the young superheroes have to figure out how to save the day (or at least keep it from completely going boom until some adult heroes can show up). It's a fun adventure with likable supers. And Miles learns a good lesson on friendship and not assuming that silence means The story is told in a mix of graphic novel frames, emails, handouts, texts, etc. I shelve this series in graphic novel because such a huge percentage of the story is told in graphic novel frames or is highly illustrated. Recommended for middle grade Marvel fans as that is the age range the supers primarily are in this series.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. There are some perilous situations but everyone ends up ok.

There is a lot of familiar beats this series lands on while telling its episodes. Introduce the teachers, let the protagonists encourage eachother, set up new classmates to encounter and problems to overcome. Do so with an engaging battle, set up the next book.

It’s a familiar comic book formula, and Chhibber deserves credit for innovating with found texts, but this book’s disjointed nature adds to the underwhelming feel of this installment. Rather than one situation to sort out, there are two, but instead of increasing the stakes it feels compartmentalized to the point that any drama disappears.

Chibber and Lancett clearly have fun creating space for these characters to play, I hope it can build up rather than trodding the same familiar ground.

2.5 stars, rounded up to 3

This was a quick read with creative and funny texts, letters, comics, diary entries, etc. Some of the conflicts were resolved too quickly, but that matches the fast pacing. Kids who like superheroes will probably enjoy this and others in the series. I did not know this was the third book in a series, but you don't need to have read the previous ones to understand the story or characters. I just picked it up because of Wolverine.
