I'm a good cop. And a good man. At least I thought I was...

Shy vet student Mila Kowitsch always does what her big brother Andrei tells her to. After all, he's the one who raised her and made sure that she only ever knew riches.

But a girl can't live in a golden cage forever. Especially not when her new boss at the vet clinic turns out to be the dream of every woman. So unbelievably handsome, so wickedly sexy and smart. Mila's fallen hard for those dashing brown eyes, and as crazy as it seems to her, she's pretty sure he wants her too…

It was just another undercover mission when cop Noah Carter started investigating Andrei Kowitsch, one of the biggest criminals in the nation. Befriending Mila Kowtisch was meant to be his ticket to her brother — nothing more, nothing less.

But he never expected her to be so beautiful and kind. Her stunning smile brings out a protective instinct in him he never realized he had.

He has to resist her, say no to his sinful thoughts. Because Noah's world is every bit as dark as her brother's, and she is far too good for either of them. But those pretty blue eyes are begging him to play with fire. And Noah's never been one to say no to a challenge. Especially not one that he positively, absolutely, can't stop thinking about...

A full-length super steamy romance novel with no cheating and no cliffhangers. It is a total standalone book. To spice things up to an ultra hot level, the entire book is written from his POV.

The Eagle has been identified. The Eagle is an assassin with high-profile targets. He has been hunted for years. Now that he has a name, there's a chance to catch him.

Noah Carson has been chosen to go undercover in order to get close to the assassin's sister. Mila is a veterinary student. Noah is posing as an animal control officer named John Davis, but he is so taken with Mila that he accidentally introduces himself as Noah. He struggles to keep his mind on his mission.

Noah and Mila become lovers -- a dangerous game when he knows her overprotective brother is a cold-blooded killer.

This is an excellent story with great characters, moderate suspense, and lots of sizzle.

Sounded good from the blurb but I couldn’t get into it. Gave up at around 35%. Too big an age gap. Also it’s all from the hero’s perspective which I didn’t like. I prefer both POV. I couldn’t connect with the hero he came across as someone in his early 20’s rather than a 36 year old man.

Mila was raised by her protective brother Andrei. She had no clue that he was a big time national criminal and assassin. Noah is the undercover cop who has been assigned to bring him down and his plan is to befriend his sister to get information. He wasn't prepared for how gorgeous and kind she was. What happens when the attraction between them grows? What happens to her brother? What happens when he has to chose? What happens when she finds out who he really is? The characters are likable, well developed and their relationship is steamy. A good book that you will enjoy. I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a super easy read, I finished in just a couple hours. It is written from the MMC's POV, which was different than the normal romance.

It is hard to describe this book because for a police story it wasn't dark or suspenseful, there isn't a ton of police work going on, and it pretty much reads like a standard romance with a predictable plot. It just kind of misses.

Overall this one was fine.. the story was good, but there just wasn't enough of one thing to really make it great.

PS... The book on Amazon was titled Dirty Lies, with a difterent cover picture, which I like way more than what's on goodreads

Great game of cat and mouse
4.5
I really liked this story, especially for the hero Noah, an undercover cop, who doesn't knows how to choose between his mission and his heart with Mila, knowing that everything could explode at any time. Their story is tender, a little tense by the situation, but still fascinating, with good twists.

Ooooo I do love a thriller type set up. An international assassin, his sister, the cops and an intense attraction… more please. I’d love to see if there’s a series round this story… hint hint!

Sometimes working undercover can get complicated especially when you fall for the one you need information from. When Noah goes undercover to get close to Mila in order to get to her brother, an assassin, it should be easy. But Mila takes his breath away. When everything comes to a head will Mila forgive Noah? Warning; lots of hot scenes.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an intriguing story line, The author does a great job pulling you in and had me glued to the pages reading right to the end. She does a fantastic job painting her scenes and moving the story fluidly. I loved and would recommend this book.

This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I usually don’t like only one POV (Noah’s) but I felt like here it worked and there was less of a chance I wouldn’t like Mila if we didn’t get her POV.

This was kind of an insta love, like the minute he sees her he wants to claim her but it didn’t feel like a rushed insta love as most do. The characters were cute together and I liked them both. I liked that even as he was pushing her away he wasn’t a total jerk about it.

There were a couple reasons I took off a star…. Even though there is no cheating, Noah is always talking about how hot a girl is when he sees her. He was buying jewelry for Mila but all the while monologuing how good the lady the store looks “but don’t worry, Mila is the only one for me” and then they are at dinner together and she is literally sitting right next him and he thinks about how hot this woman looks who is walking up to them “oh but she’s not my type”. Then why the hell are you checking out all these women and then thinking about their body parts? This was after him and Mila made it official as bf/gf. So it really rubbed me the wrong way.

Also there was a handful on inconsistencies that had me going, “wait, what?” So yeah.

I am going to continue the series. I would recommend for a fast light read.

Mila Kowitsch is a shy girl with a brother who runs her life, but little does she know the things coming for her because of his assassin occupation. She's a vet student who ends up with a crush on her boss at the vet clinic, and the feeling is pretty much mutual. However, she doesn't know that said boss is Noah, an undercover cop who's trying to get information on her brother so they can take him down. He took one look at her, and instantly knew that she was going to become a complication, but he couldn't stop the new journey they're now on. Of course there's that whole undercover secret which won't make him any friends that has the power to really devastate Mila when it all comes out, so I found myself on the edge of my seat cover to cover waiting on that other shoe to drop. I LOVED this story so much, and I believe you will as well after you hit those one click buttons since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great story! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This author is new to me. Under Covers is in the Redemption series. It can be read as a standalone too. This is Noah and Mila's story. Noah Carson is a cop and is chosen to go undercover. Mila is a veterinary student. When Noah goes undercover to get close to Mila in order to get to her brother who they believe is an assassin. So, what would happen when you fall for the person that you were sent in to get close too? When everything comes to a head will Mila forgive Noah? This is a well written storyline that has everything in it from angst, betrayal, action, drama, humor, romance, and undeniable chemistry. Really enjoyed this book and will be looking for more books from this author. I was hooked from the first page until the end. I can't wait to read more from this author. It's a must READ! Keep up the awesome work!

My review so far:

Under Covers was a fast paced read for me. Noah and Mila were an ideal couple right from the start. I enjoyed Noah's sarcastic remarks aimed toward his superior and Andrei a little too much. The story itself is light in a way that it focuses more on the couple and romantic aspects and not the bad side of the law. It's also lighter than a lot of cop related romance stories, which I genuinely enjoyed. I loved that you explored the gray area of life and told the story from Noah's point of view. However, I did wanted Mila's point of view at times, but I was very satisfied with the way the author wrote this story. I kind of want a Andrei story too, but if that's not possible, I can understand that he is still keeping his head low and can't take the risk. I recommend this story to anyone.

I saw an ad for this book come across my feed on facebook - and what ever the line was on Facebook that made me read it - never happened. It said something like - I took her innocense and then broke things off with her for her protection - and then told her to stay away from me..... then he see's her making a date with someone else and tells him to stay away from "my girl." That's my biggest pet peeve about the book.

The book itself is sort of insta love. Almost on the cheesy side. It was good though. I read it all in one sitting. It's really straight forward - not a huge amount of twists and turns. I am hoping her brother gets a book.....Maybe it's written already - I will have to check the series out.

This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Mila is a shy vet student who has always been protected by her older brother. Noah is an undercover cop who is tasked with getting to know Mila to get to her brother Andrei who is an assassin. Noah is determined to keep things professional, but things become complicated when lines are crossed. This is a well written intriguing storyline, with angst, betrayal, action, drama, humor, romance, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to a steamy and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author and I highly recommend this story.

It’s not often that I read a book that is written solely from the males point of view (POV). Although I prefer dual POV, it was a nice change to read from only the male POV instead of only the female POV (like so many other novels). The story was a quick and steamy romance, although I found it a little predictable. But add in some action and it kept me entertained! I like how not every question about Andrei was answered, and the end of Noah and Milas story was left open for more books. I would love to read one about Andrei!

His life was anything but boring or mundane and now his history was kicking him in his you know what.
So here he was, instead of where he really wanted to be and there wasn't anything he could do but accept his situation and get down to business.
Now Mila who's obviously an introvert with a big heart for four legged friends will have her neat and tidy world turned up side down quicker then you can say boo.
However sometimes we get stuck in a rut, so when life throws you a curve ball maybe it might not be as bad as it feels in the end.

Mila is a sweet girl and was raised by her brother. The brother is a criminal. Noah has to go under cover to get information on Andrei. Noah is working at the vet office and there is an instant attraction. The attraction is powerful but Noah needs to fight it. I loved the characters Noah and Mila were great together. There is also other drama going on with a stalker. This is an age gap romance and there are parts that are steamy. I will be ready more from Denise Daye, I enjoyed this story that much. . What a fun read. Noah is such a relatable character, a good cop wanting to do the right thing - always. Just enough intrigue for this to be a great book without causing you to lose sleep.

At first the age gap gave me pause, but then I realized how quickly Mila was forced to mature. When you experience all the trauma she endured, it forces you to mature fast. She’s not your normal innocent college student, she’s a woman who has experienced too much too young. Combine that with a guy who recently had a “I should get my life together” epiphany and you have this couple.

I wanted to like this but from the start there were errors everywhere. There was zero chemistry or real emotion coming off the MMC. It felt like a woman writing a man and I don’t often get that vibe from romance novels. Seems like an odd statement but let me rephrase: it felt like a woman was playing a man. The internal monologue felt full of self-doubt and weakness. It felt like the Hero was a sad sack heroine. The holes in the plot were already becoming obvious. Dunno, just couldn’t see wasting any more time trying to see if it got better. This was my first book by this author, not sure if I’ll try another one 😕

Noah is a undercover cop who was headed for a vacation when he go the call to do a job undercover getting close to Mila which in turn would lead them to 'Eagle' who is wanted by them. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It started out a little rocky for me with the first chapter having typos, wrong words and painfully overly descriptive (he has black hair; how many times do we need to be told that?) I almost stopped reading but I am so glad that I didn't. These characters had great chemistry and the book flowed really well. This was a good story and I could definitely see another book with the brother!

Mila is a vet student working at the local clinic where Noah is now going undercover to get info against her brother who is an assassin. Everyone is keeping secrets from her and these two things will devastate her as Mila and Noah grow closer. Loved Thor and how Noah had a soft spot for him. The twists and turns in this storyline were so unpredictable and kept me on the edge of my seat. The tension and questions right up to the very end, explode into a terrific ending. .

Undercover cop romance

Plot: Noah had no clue when he took his undercover op that he would fall for Mila, the sister to his Target. His target was made out to be this horrible man until certain files appear that just show he was taking out corruption and pedophiles.
No matter how the sting ended, live won in the end..

FOR those wanted alot of harcore spice, don't plan on it here. There is spice but not hardcore. But they definitely sleep together every opportunity they can get.

Well written, smooth story. Told from of Officer Noah Carter’s perspective. He takes on an undercover assignment to catch an assassin. To get close, he must use his charm on Mila, the assassin;s sister. Entertaining story, at times predictable, but also surprising, love, betrayal, humor. Got curious about reading assassin Andrei’s story, after reading this

I enjoy a good under-cover cop story.

I had never read a book by this author, but, the trope and more importantly, the blurb drew me to read! So glad I did.

The characters are well fleshed and believable.

Plenty of action through-out in more ways than one!

You should never fall for the people you're after, or those close to them. However, a smile from Mila, and Noah may just break that number one rule.

Entertaining, and has me checking out the author's other work!
