What would happen if a chance discovery changed your world?
That's what happened to Jim Thomas. For him, the routine of every day no longer existed.
Whilst walking his dog on a cold winter’s morning he stumbles across a dead body. The corpse's face had been horribly mutilated.
The Police find the victim was a local vagrant.
An act of compassion alters Jim’s life forever as he is introduced to a community ignored and shunned by society. Its inhabitants befriend him and its leader calls Jim their 'Saviour', but Saviour for what?
This soon becomes all too apparent.
As the Police investigation into the vagrant’s death falters, Jim begins to doubt their interest in solving the case and embarks on a journey to save the lives of the people in his new community.

Lots of twists and turns. Dark , see human nature and attitudes from lots of different aspects. Not one for the faint hearted but definitely worth reading

What an amazing début novel

It's very hard to write a review without spoilers. Trust me, you don't want spoilers. I'll concentrate on the writing.

The characters, first and foremost, are three dimensional. Even those who are tangential to the plot are more than two dimensional ciphers.

The geography is real. I know where The Broken Land is, even though I've never been there.

Unusually, I had no need to suspend disbelief. It was a little teased out at times, but the events were, are, possible.

The suspense built, slowly, inexorably, to, and past the conclusion. And what a conclusion.
